Here is a little background on myself and why I'm doing this.

While I was growing up, I've always been extremely active and have had great metabolism. I've played sports from middle school all the way through college, my primary sport being volleyball. I've never had a problem staying in shape and it didn't matter what I ate, I just never seemed to gain weight. Once I got out of college, I still played volleyball, but my activities moved from the court/field to the weights. I bulked up pretty quickly going from 180 lbs in college to 210 lb of muscle. I was so into fitness and being active that when my friend offered me a job to coach a local volleyball team, I jumped all over it. I loved teaching kids the sport I loved and keeping them active. At this point in my life all was well physically. I was active, in shape and coaching kids and teenagers to do the same.

About four years ago I accepted a job offer that just made sense at the time. It was better pay, I got to travel all over the country and it was the change I thought I was looking for. It did turn out to be a good opportunity, but what I didn't realize is that I would be working 60 to 80 hours a week, traveling for work isn't as fun as it sounds and the stress level was off the charts. I simply just ran out of time for much else. My eating habits changed from healthy to take out, I stopped working out and I just stopped playing and coaching. It's been over 6 months since I've played volleyball. With my unhealthy lifestyle and no motivation to change it, I went from a solid 210lbs to a squishy 230 lbs and get winded walking up two flights of stairs.

Continuing on my fast decline, I decided enough is enough. I have to make a change and if I don't do it now... I may never do it...

I found the site Team BeachBody and at quick glance it looked like every other fitness site out there. Pay a few bucks and they only offer limited features. But when I looked into it, I realized that there was an option for a free account and that free account offered more features than any other site I looked at. So I looked into it more and found the extremely cheap account offered so much more than I expected. So I signed up! I issued myself a challenge, do p90x for the 90 days. The difference this time, share my experience with whoever wants to read it. Maybe, just maybe, my struggles and results will inspire someone else to make the change in their lives that they have been wanting to for a long time and just haven't been motivated enough to do it.
