I am a modest 5'7" in height. Back in 2003, I was 23 years old and weighed 230 pounds. Like many people out there, I subsisted on fast food, rich desserts, and a huge helping of couch time. Around that time, I decided to make a change in my life. I completely turned my diet around, and began to work out modestly with Power 90. After a few years, I had gotten down to 170 pounds and was feeling much better.

Then I decided to get serious!
In April, 2007 I ordered P90X and soon began doing the LEAN program. I began losing weight more rapidly, and gaining muscle in its place. It was fantastic.

However, in week 11 (August 18, 2007) I suffered a terrible accident. While crossing the street in Los Angeles, I was hit by a car going approximately 40 mph. I never saw it coming, and only remember waking up on the sidewalk with the paramedics cutting me out of my clothes.

I suffered a minor brain hemorrhage, and a major concussion, but miraculously broke no bones. I did suffer some extensive damage to tendons in my shoulders and knees. After a week in the hospital, I spent another month recovering in bed at home. Time went by, and my joints were not feeling any better, despite the physical therapy I was getting.

Fast-forward to March, 2008. I now had gained weight up to 179 from all the inactivity. Finally, I got back results from some MRIs to check for major problems in my joints. Luckily, there was nothing terribly serious - just some inflammation for which my doctor recommended cortisone injections.

Not being one for steroids, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started trying some of my P90X videos to the best of my abilities (Plyo X - can you say "modify?"). I was amazed that with every workout I attempted, my pain lessened and my mobility returned!

After just a few weeks, I decided to go on to a full Classic P90X schedule, which I finished on July 17, 2008. I am now in my second round. ALL MY PAIN is GONE!!! And I can move around, just like before the accident! In addition, I've lost down to 154 pounds, and counting (backwards!). AND, if that weren't enough, I don't need to wear glasses anymore (I wore BIFOCALS for 5 years, due to blood sugar problems)!!!

I just don't know what else I can say, except that Tony Horton and Beachbody have given me not one, but TWO chances to reclaim my life from a desperate situation. Thank you!!!

ON TOP OF ALL THAT, I HAVE JUST BEEN AWARDED THE SEPTEMBER 2008 $10,000 PRIZE!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, TO BEACHBODY, TONY HORTON, AND TRACI!!!
