Paleo & Shakeology?
Paleo & Shakeology?
4/16/11 2:27 PM
Hi!
I'm getting married in 13 weeks, so its really time for me to bring it. Starting a P90X/Insanity hybrid & my goal is to lose 9 lbs while toning up my body to look great in my wedding dress!

Anyone have any success with Paleo and/or Shakeology while doing the P90X/Insanity hybrid? Advice on whether I should do one or both? I did the Shakeology cleanse, results were great! I lost 3.5 lbs, but unfortunately the second day after I stopped the cleanse, I gained all the weight back. Any advice on how to prevent this? On the other hand, I don't think I lost anything in size from the Shakeology cleanse.

Thanks so much for all your help!!!

You're being too particular about the scale. You didn't "gain" the weight back in two days. My weight can vary 5 pounds in a single day. Sometimes your body holds on to water and glycogen after a hard workout and that's okay -- you need it to recover.

Never heard of following P90X and Insanity with a Paleo diet. Since the diet is a no-go with all grains, you will definately have to find some way to get plenty of carbohydrates to fuel the intense workouts. Sure, you could low-carb the program, but you won't be able to push yourself for very long.

Sweet potatoes, fruit, even veggies... there are other sources of carbs.

I'm not a nutritionist, but there are definitely ways to get carbs without hitting up the bread aisle.

Google "paleo for endurance athletes", you will get some interesting recipes.
