Welcome to Team Endeavor!

We chose Team Endeavor as our name because we truly believe the name says it all!
Definition: Endeavor- to exert oneself to do or effect something; make an effort; strive:
We must constantly endeavor if we are to succeed..

Hello, my name is Mike and all my life I have struggled with my weight. Back in November of 2010 I was 35 years old and pushing 260 pounds .I was looking over some summer pictures and I could not believe how big I had gotten. I knew I had to do something about not just my weight, but my overall health as well.

I graduated from the Power 90 series in January of 2011 where I lost 20lbs, then moved to P90X which was something I had never dreamed of doing. I graduated from P90X on April 23rd weighing in at 220lbs and now I have started Insanity where my goal in the next 60 days is to get down to 190lbs.

So no matter what program you are working with, no matter what fitness level you are on, no matter what level of motivation you will need to be able to succeed; this is the place to be. As we here on the Team Endeavor thread truly believe, this is a life long journey and we must:

CONSTANTLY ENDEAVOR IF WE ARE TO SUCCEED!

Hi Mike,

I’m definitely excited to be a part of team endeavor! I just started Turbo Fire and I love the program.

A little bit about me:

My reason for joining Beachbody and deciding to make positive health changes is due to an eye condition that started two years ago. After two eye surgeries and a couple thousand in medication and eye specialist visits, I decided that my health and stress levels could be the cause of my condition. That was the beginning of some major changes in my lifestyle and I began to look for ways to drastically improve my health.

While I’m still struggling with my eye health, I’m “seeing” definite improvements in my vision. I feel better, both physically and mentally, and things have changed in my life for the better. I encourage everyone to take the first step in making a change in their life. If you stick with this team, you’ll find encouragement, help, and friends that will support you at every high and low point in your fitness journey. With that said, the support and encouragement I’ve received from Mike, Susan, Anna Marie, and the other members of this group have helped me to continue making positive changes. I owe each of them a lot for the success I’ve experienced!

With that said, please jump in and make yourself heard! We are all starting different programs, so there’s something here for anyone who wants a great group of people to work out with. My personal thing is nutrition, so I’m open to learning about new ways to be healthy or helping others with their nutrition plan.

KKP!!

Mike,

It's about time you fired up a thread. You have a lot to bring as Co@ch to so many people. Your story is inspiring and I'm glad to see you've had continued success. I see your in the process of crushing Insanity, me too. I'm on my last week of the round in fact. Asylum is next up and I'll start that around 5/16.

Jodi - The recovery drink is huge. If you're not using it I suggest you give a shot as it will really help your energy levels from workout to workout. Especially with those intense Turbofire workouts.

I'll try and stop in periodically to say hello.

Keep pushing play and digging deep.

Hey gang =)

Reed here, thanks for the invite. Firing up P90X and following the meal plan exactly down to the portion sizes and snacks. It's kickin my butt but I feel great. Core and Abs X makes me want to cry and/or tell all of my darkest secrets just to get it to stop, but that's what bringing it is all about. Hoping to update my profile with some horrible before pics soon. Have a good week gang.

Hey Y'all,

My name is Anne Marie. I am on my second round of P90X and have become a coach. I started the P90X experience because I injured my knee playing tennis and wanted to get into better shape to avoid future injuries. I have a B.S. in Exercise Physiology, served 5 years in the US Army, instructed step and conditioning classes, and have played sports my entire life. Nothing I have done in the past has been as fun and challenging as P90X was my first round. I attribute most of my success to the wonderful support found through threads like this one. It's amazing the motivation, ideas, and inspiration just checking in daily can give you. So looking forward to traveling this road to better health and fitness with all of you emoticon

Currently I'm using a food scale in the kitchen as well as a calorie app on my phone for when I'm at work or away from home. It's working great so far. Sometimes I feel like I'm eating too much even in P1 shredder.

Hello,

I'm into almost the end of my 7th week of P90X looking forward to the recovery week and then going into Phase 3! My husband and I ordered P90X because for years we saw the commericals and thought why not? We were a bit concerned if we were going to keep it up because we have joined many gyms and well after a few months we stop. So on March 3rd I started (my husband hasn't been as successful emoticon

I especially wanted to get back into shape since I gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy and when I started P90X I was 159. So far I have lost 13 pounds and notice the difference in my body, but especially in the way I feel - I feel great and healthy! Before I would walk up my stairs and be so tired.

The fact I can workout with a 9 month old and keep this up is a great success, but I really think my success is because it does work if you keep at it and this message board. I don't think I would have the success if I didn't get on here daily and check in and all the great motivation form such a supportive team.

Welcome to the group!

Ampy1- You are awesome and I am so glad you decided to become a coach, you have so much to offer, I look forward to learning from you as well. BTW…A BS in exercise physiology, very impressive…

Reed- It may feel like you are eating to much, but you are not…The idea is to feel full throughout the day..How many calories are you suppose to eat a day. Because of my size I had to eat 3000 calories a day, that is a lot considering I was only eating 1000 if I was like, but I gradually started eating more and it was crazy, the more I ate the faster I lost inches and pounds…

Mbreth- Congrats ending your 7th week, that means you are 2/3 of the way done…If you have not, you need to start thinking about what is next for you, if you start thinking about it now it will help keep you motivated to continue after you graduate. I have heard to many times from people that don’t start thinking about what is next until the end of the program, then they want to take a week or two off, and they just never get back into it… The people on this thread have experience with many of the different BeachBody Programs so if you are wandering about any of them feel free to ask…

Have a great day everyone!

Do Your Best and Forget the rest

Hey Team Endeavor!!

I am excited to join y'all, and ready to rock this!! I had fallen off schedule for about a month and decided this last weekend that enough was enough. I wasn't sure if I had what it took inside of me to do it alone, and was intimidated. I don't know why I was feeling that way, but I was. Then I decided to just push play. I was able to make myself do 2 Fire 30 workouts and was estatic!! This week, I am joining my partner who motivates me, and makes me feel good about myself---Susan----she is the best!! I thank God for her everyday, because she is a great motivational tool to have, also a great friend!! I am beginning the regular Turbo Fire schedule with Susan today and can't wait! I am ready to get myself straight and healthy and lose all of this crappy weight. I want health and to live a fulfilled life like no one can believe. I am hoping that my family sees what this can do and decide to join in the challenge. I had asked them to take a four week challenge last night at the supper table, and that was a big bummer. My kids acted devestated and my husband didn't look very amused. At first, I had hurt feelings, but then heard Chalene saying that if the people you are hanging around isn't in to health, surround yourself with those that are. Susan, is that for me. I just want y'all to know that!! I will check back in with the team soon!! Best of luck to everyone!!!

Good morning, Team Endeavor!! I just love that name! It so fits what we are all trying to accomplish in our lives. I'm so excited about this new group!! There's nothing like having a great support system in place to help keep you motivated and focused on your fitness journey. I know, for me, it's as important as my workouts every day!

My name is Susan, and like Anne Marie, I became so addicted and excited about my new healthy lifestyle that I became a coach. I hope to help others much the way Mike has helped me so much. This is a great group of people to use as resources on your fitness journey. Our collective experiences will serve as a great tool to help you in your daily fitness Endeavor (just had to throw our team word in there )!

I'm currently using Turbo Fire as my main program, but I am also looking at incorporating P90X as a hybrid program. I've seen some amazing results with others with the X and it is really making me want to give it a try!

I'm a school teacher currently, and work at an inner city school with children that come from a very low socioeconomic background. It's stressful, to say the least. It's draining, to be brutally honest. I started working out because I was so physically and emotionally drained at the end of my day that all I wanted to do was go home, eat, lay on the couch, watch tv, and go to bed. Not exactly a healthy lifestyle. I finally started battling severe depression due to life-changing events, and that coupled with the couch potato routine was taking a toll on my body physically. I was sick constantly and didn't really enjoy life anymore. I wondered why I was even alive. My life seemed to have no purpose. Well, I saw a Turbo Fire infomercial and was HOOKED! I ordered it and my good friend that is also my co-worker and I decided to give it a try. That was the beginning of a new life!! We both are rocking Turbo Fire and LOVING it! We're getting stronger and healthier day by day. The personal satisfaction of knowing we are accomplishing something that is a challenge that many others fear has given us much satisfaction and joy! I no longer battle depression. I have been much healthier this year and I'm encouraging others to work out. In short, LIFE IS GOOD!!

So welcome to the team everyone! To say that you've found one amazing support system here, is just simply an understatement! You've hit the jackpot!!

Have a great day, everyone!

Gemini, so glad you found someone to workout with and Susan sounds perfect. Don't be hurt by your family... what you are doing is not easy and if it was everyone would be doing it emoticon When I first started my husband and kids didn't want to make any changes either. During the 1st round they started paying more attention as I got further and further into the program and my son and husband even joined me in my P90 workouts on occasion. So even if your family is "less then excited" right now... you can lead them by example.

Good Luck!
Anne Marie

Gemini6972- You are absolutely correct about surrounding yourself with people you want to be like..With that said, you also have to understand your family may not be 100% on board right now. I am ashamed to say I was that way about 9 months ago when my DW first started working out and eating right..I was shallow enough to say, well eat what you want as long as me and the kids don’t suffer…Yep, pretty horrible, but the act is, I was not where she was at the time. She did a great job cooking two meals every day, one for her and one for us…It took some time, but watching her push through and having such dedication I what got me into doing this…Sooo, they may not be on board right now, but as long as you do not give up and you continue to push every day, they will, overtime, want to jump in with you…Good job and KPP

Susan- What can I say but you are awesome. Congrats on becoming a coach, You Anne Marie and Jodi have all motivated me and I am glad we are all here to help others succeed in their new life style!
