garyshooter:
I'm 51 and finished day 25 today. This is a tough week with 4 hard workouts in a row. Did Game Day and Overtime today. Tomorrow is vertical plyo. My knees are the thing that has been bothering me with all the jumping. !
I'm in my mid-50s doing Asylum. I did overtime for the first time yesterday and found many of its moves very challenging. This is one workout where only two of the best athletes join Shuan, so there weren't any easier modifications being demonstrated. Has anyone any thoughts on good substitutes for:
- decoy jumps from kneeling (I just leave out the decoy part and jump only)
- one legged plyo pushups to single leg balance in ladder (I was doing the double leg jump from Speed and Agility)
- clapping mountain climbers (found this hard for some reason -- maybe a balance issue - so just did regular MCs for now)
I also avoid the rock climber pull up bar moves because I find them hard on my elbows and I develop tendonitis there easily. I have been doing corn cob chins instead (using the chair as needed).
I also want to echo other's input about how imaginative and challenging this program is. Unlike P90X, it seems that only one person -- Shaun -- is involved in its design. I am very impressed by his combination of technical knowledge, coaching and demonstration, and of course tremendous fitness.
