Unfortunately Cheryl I'm having the same issues as you are...I even took a day off yesterday of Shakeology but only after having it three times I'm still having pain today. I eat a healthy diet and workout so I really don't know what is causing it either. I'm hoping it's the fact that I accidentally grabbed soymilk at the grocery store instead of almond milk to mix it with. What are you blending yours with? My mom started Shakeology same time as me and is having no issues at all, and I know she doesn't eat as clean as I do...who knows!

Hope this clears up soon, I love the taste of Shakeology but i can't handle this kind of digestive pain.
How long have you been drinking it?

I've been drinking ShakeO for 3 months now and I've been having problems with dizziness. My caloric intake is exactly where it needs to be taking in account my BMR. I don't drink alcohol - so seeing previous posts of that being the problem, I know that's not it in my case. My diet is fair to good. I used to eat a lot of junk and fast food but have pretty much cut it out. I just went 4 days without drinking Shakeology to make sure that's what what was making me dizzy and sure enough, I drank Shakeology for my a.m. snack and am dizzy and nauseous. Even after eating lunch I still feel this way - the only thing that makes it better is laying down for a little bit. I'm pretty sure it's not my sugars - I had them checked a couple months ago and they were fine. I don't experience it any other time - even if I skip meals or on weekends if I sleep in and I don't eat AS much as I do during the week, I don't get like this. It's only after the Shakeology. Any ideas?

Wow, that is bizarre. So this has occurred during the entire 3 months of drinking Shakeology? You say that "now" you're having problems so I assume not. What kind of workouts are you doing? I would advise to stop drinking it for a few weeks and see what happens. Then return to it. Cut out ALL the fast food and junk too. Make your diet great! The ingredient of Schisandra can "possibly" stimulate the central nervous system. If there's one ingredient in Shakeology that could be "dangerous" I'd pick that one. But I don't think it's dangerous. I hope that helps.

I'll jump in too. I've been taking Shakeology for the past two weeks. I have not been dizzy, nor do I have severe abdominal pain issues, and thankfully no hives or rashes. However - I do have intestinal churn, frequent loose stool, frequent urination, and horrific gas. - Lets be blunt people! emoticon In addition, I do get something like a racing heart-rate feeling / or quivery chest feeling, kind of fluttery... I don't drink coffee, so I don't know if this is what people expect or interpret as a stimulant effect, or "higher energy"... or perhaps it is a contributor to the weightloss benefits of ShakeO... creating an increase metabolic rate while at "rest".

I am a little concerned, but am continuing to wait it out. I'll consider it a cleansing effect and my body just needing to adapt for a while.

I am a little annoyed by the "protective/defensive" responses made so far here regarding people's diets and caloric intakes and such. I eat clean. I eat plenty. My diet hasn't changed in any other way except for starting Shakeology. period. Its a pretty well controlled experiment on my part. So, I'd say quit defending and start accounting for the possible range of responses.

Like I said, I am continuing, monitoring my situation, and will see how it goes for a month or so. I'll report back for the record.

My biggest concern is I have a trek planned in Nepal in a few months including high altitude - I plan to bring a bag of shakeology to ensure I get one healthy meal a day on top of the local dal-bhat cuisine... But I am at this point concerned about this heart/chest/quiver effect mixed with high altitude... so if it doesn't clear up before then, I will sadly have to find some other way to supplement my trekking nutrition.

I've only been trying shakeology a few times, but each time I get dizzy a few hours after drinking it. I tried it on a workout day and on a non-workout day...same time each day...I don't drink alcohol or take blood thinners, etc. I do tend to have low blood pressure and I'm wondering if that might be the issue...everything else has been pretty constant, so shakeology is really the only potential culprit from my perspective. Thoughts?

there's a lot in Shakeology, so a lot that can negatively interact with things. For a lot of people it's great and they have no issue. For others, not so good. Everybody is different and even the safest, most healthiest things aren't good for some people. The point of drinking it is to feel better and be healthier. If it's not doing that for you, then you shouldn't have any hesitation about stopping and/or investigating alternatives. Check out my good, bad, ugly thread for the list of ingredients and potential interactions for each.

Definitely check with your doctor if you are experiencing severe issues or reactions from it.

I've heard or read somewhere, that the dizziness effect is basically your body reacting to the removal of toxins from those hard to reach areas and going into your blood stream for the removal process. I personally wouldn't worry about it, sometimes dehydration can make you feel this way also; definitely don't think it's Shakeology.

Take a 2 week vacation from it. If you're dizziness still occurs after 2 weeks, it's not the Shakeology. And after 2 weeks, try Shakeology again, if the dizziness occurs as you described, it's probably the culprit. But there is an adjustment period with Shakeology. It takes 2-4 weeks for your body to become accustom to it. This is a good adjustment. Your body is getting used to the good ingredients it's not used to. Especially the probiotics. I have a video of Isabelle Daikeler discussing this effect if you're interested. I've also put together a nice PDF of each ingredient (not tropical.) The information comes from the "National Medicines Comprehensive Data Base." A publication produced by "The pharmacists Letter." I have permission to distribute it as a pharmacist and subscriber. PM me if you're interested in this information.

I am having some of the same problems. I am vegan so I was very excited when the new vegan flavor came out. I tried a sample and got very ill...both top and bottom. I thought maybe I was getting the flu and passed it off as that so I ordered it, got it, and experienced the same problems. Like I said I am vegan, so I eat very healthy and work out regularly. Before I was full vegan I tried the chocolate flavor and had no problems. I am not sure what the problem is with the new flavor or if I am allergic to one of the ingredients? It’s quite the frustrating puzzle, as I was really looking forward to being able to drink shakeology again.

Dang! That sticks. I'm sorry about that. Well, you know you can send it back right? You sure you didn't put some bad fruit in it? I love Tropical. I don't know what to tell you about this. I'm sorry.

Wow, I wish I would have found this thread back in December. I did add to another allergy thread tho with what was happening as it happened.

After 3 weeks of Shakeology & eating on the TBB Meal Plan I had horrific itching. To the point I was taking prescription strength antihistamines & would wake up in the middle of the night itching. I'd had an allergy show up on a cleaning supply years ago, and 3 weeks was how long it took for the symptoms to show up. I went cold turkey on the Shakeology for a week, then half strength for a week, without reactions, and I'm fine on it now.

I might suggest if you're having trouble with one flavor, to TEST a second, maybe at half strength. Other than ONE sample of the new Tropical, ever since I've reintroduced it, I've only used the chocolate, NOT the greenberry. If I'd had an inkling of a reaction, I was ready to stop the Shakeology entire. Given my reactions, I'm thinking whatever it is I'm allergic to, is what's different between the chocolate & the greenberry. Given the severity of my reaction, I'm not brave enough to try the greenberry ever again. I gave my remaining packets of that to a P90X-er that hadn't tried Shakeology yet. (3 or four packets, I didn't think it was worth returning that little)

Thanks Joe.

I wish it was as easy as bad fruit. The first time I had it was with rice milk, a banana, and a little bit of ice. The second time I added the same plus some frozen blackberries. Really weird, but it is good to see that I am not the only one with the problem. Everything I added I eat by itself daily and don't have a problem. The shakeology is the common denominator. The only thing I can think is that I amy be allergic to something, but I am not sure what?? It's a real bummer because I was sooo looking forward to not only the new flavor, but the fact that it was vegan. I loved the chocolate and never had a problem, but it's not vegan.

I actually didn't see your post about taking a break from the shakeology until today, Joe. But, I continued with it and the dizziness only occurred for a few more days. After a week on it, I began to feel great. None of the crushing tiredness from the first week of insanity...lots of energy...just feeling really good and really happy I found it (just wish it didn't cost quite so much). So, while I think it was the shakeology making me dizzy, I think you're right that it was the adjustment period.

I would be interested in the other information as well.

Thanks Joe.

When I first drank my chocolate shakeology sample, I felt great! I felt great about a month later when I first got the 30 day supply bag...I went on vacation and forgot the shake mix. When I first drank it about 14 days later...I was violently sick, cold sweats, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea and it felt like I had a hangover the next day. Yesterday, I thought I'd give it a try again, BAD IDEA! I was violently ill with the same symptoms, for hours, it was so bad! Today I feel like a wrung out wash cloth, weak, shaky, fatigued. I am not lactose intolerant, I never drink alcohol and I eat healthy! I see many people having the same issues and all I read is guessing as to what's wrong...can we get some hardcore research as to why this is happening? Please?

My friend, I wish we could do some hardcore research, however, that would cost tons of $$$ and have to be done by Beachbody. The studies would drive up the cost and I don't think it would really prove anything besides what they already know. What else did you eat that day? Maybe you should send that bag back and get a new bag. It could be a bad batch. Call customer service and talk to them about it. Talk to your Coach. Try Tropical, it's pretty good with frozen strawberries.

Hey Everyone!!

I am so glad that I looked for a post about issues with Shakeology. My husband and I both tried the chocolate and loved it so I ordered the Tropical Strawberry. But in the last two week every time I use the Tropical I get the worse stomach cramps (not like when you have an upset stomach) but it feels like my stomach is being tied into a thousand knots. The pain starts about an hour after I finish my drink and continues for hours after. I don't have this issue with the Chocolate so I am a bit bummed as I looked forward to a change in my breakfast a couple times a week.
