Protein Bars WITHOUT nuts? food allergy..
I'm working through P90x right now, and I'm trying to find a Protein bar that DOES NOT have any nuts, NOR does it have peanut oil, flower, ect. I have a food allergy to all nuts, and was wondering if there was a solution to this?

I really feel for you. My older daughter also has nut allergies (peanuts and tree nuts) and without a doubt finding totally nut free granola/protein bars is so freaking hard! It is definitely an area ripe for development.

Here is what I have found: Vermont Nut Free Chocolates has granola bars that are nut free, and they also have an item called Meta Balls that are more of a nutritional supplement (think less like candy, more like protein bar - but they do look like candy. Odd.) Their website is vermontnutfree.com. No worries about cross contamination here, so we feel it is our only 100% safe source for these items for us.

There is also a website called youbar.com where you can customize your own protein bars using any seed butters you want. The caveat here is they are made, assumedly, side by side with bars containing nuts, so if cross contamination is an issue, you should call before you order. Also, they are NOT inexpensive. However, they are entirely customizable so you get what you pay for for sure.

Hope that helps. Feel free to message me or otherwise get in touch if you have any other questions.

Best,
Sharon

Not sure why this isn't popping up as having any comments written on it, but I wanted to try and bump it up in the message list so you could get the info. Just trying to do my part for the nut allergic community.

To your health,
Sharon
