p90x fitness insanity health turbo jam hip hop abs lose weight new member gain weight basic questions asylum a new start a new beginning get toned turbor fire
7/22/11 6:45 PM
Hello My name is Nicole and I wanted to start a thread where anyone can go for questions, support, motivation, or just comeraderie. I started with BeachBody in Janurary 2011, and during my journey I realized that I did not just start a workout program, I started a journey in to bettering my life. I have lost 35lbs and approx. 5 inches all over in the last 6 months. As most who I have talked to on beach body, it becomes a journey of life. Many continue on with the program or move on to different programs, but it becomes like an addiction, a good one!!!
I recently became a Independant coach with Beachbody because I like to help others with their workout issues because 9 times out of 10 I had the exact same problem and I worked through it with help from others. I would like to be there for others, and help them continue on the journey.
The one thing you will realize quickly that life throws you many curve balls, but dealing with them and moving on is what life is all about. If you really want to live and enjoy life, you strive to be healthier and more fit no matter what life throws at you!
So welcome and ask any questions you have!!! If I do not know it I will try to find it out for you!

Hello all,
How many of you still struggle with your diet? What do you struggle with the most? Post on here and we can work on it together.

I struggle with find a consistant schedule to eat because I work at nights so the days I am off I go back to a regular schedule, but it is hard to go back and forth. Is there anyone that struggles with night shift.

Take care,
Nicole

I'm not as good with the diet as I would like to be. It's not that I eat bad, I just don't think I eat enough. I'm pretty busy and sometimes I forget to eat.

Thanks for posting! I have heard others literally have to set their watch every 2-4 hrs to remind themselves. Are your workouts suffering at all because your lacking energy? How many calories do you take in? If your not feeling drained and your eating enough to maintain body functions and your getting results than I would not worry about it, but if you are lacking any of these than it is important to try to take in more calories.
well again thanks for posting. As you can see it is very new but I hope that maybe you will tell others to take a look at it.
Good luck and hope to talk to you soon.

hybrid
7/29/11 7:27 PM as a reply to NurseNikki1980.
Time to measure up my next program! I plan on doing Insanity after I finish Turbofire, but I want to know what everyone thinks about it? The whole truth! I see many of great comments, but there is bound to be some issues or problems that others have had during it. What issues did you have? Were your knees bothering you? Were you not physically prepared? I am hoping that Turbofire will prepare me enough! I have also heard great things about Chalene extreme, and I actually got to try out burn circuit 1 and it was great! It's a combination of P90X and Turbofire. I will probably buy Chalene extreme soon so I can have it to alternate through once I'm done with Insanity. I am interested in the different hybrids that others are doing so let me know what your hybrid is and if you don't mind sharing that would be great to share with others!

Some days are better than others as far as engery goes. I'm supposed to take in 2400 calories, not sure if I do or not. Sometimes I'm awesome with the meal plan, some days I have to improvise and I usually eat greek yogurt and maybe a sandwich.

I just finished the first month of Insanity. My results have been stellar. I wore 36 pants for the longest time, now I can hop into a 34, no problem. Its a very tough program at first, but you can feel yourself getting stronger as the days progress. Thats what kept me motivated.

Hello again! If anyone has any questions or feels that they can offer advice, you are welcome to do so here! I started this thread in order to provide support and motivation, and I need your help to do that. If you are reading this, something brought you here. Please do not be afraid to ask your question. I will try to answer any questions you have or find the answer for you. If you are looking for motivation, like everyone does, I will be happy to try and motivate you. I have been using Beach Body for 6 months now and I have no plans to stop because I see this, fitness and health, as a life long journey! I started with P90X then moved to Hip Hop Abs, and now I am doing Turbo Fire. As soon as I am doing with TurboFire I will be doing Insanity. I am also thinking of doing Chalene Extreme! If your interested in any of those programs, just ask. If you plan on doing Insanity, maybe we could face it together. If you plan on doing or are doing Turbo Fire come join me! Keep Pushing Play and hope to hear from you all!

Hi Nikki,
Im currently doing a P90X Brazil Butt Lift hybrid... this is week 2 for me and so far its going great. I really like the variety of the BBL thrown in. Im fine tuning my diet- been eating pretty healthy but it seems like a fine line between eating good things and eating enough.
Im using Shakeology for breakfast most days, as well as the P90x recovery drink (w a scoop of protein powder added) Im trying to add extra lean protein so far the scale has not moved. I need to do measurements too.
Im kinda thinking I wont weigh in til day 30... dont want to get discouraged. I cant imagine how hard it is to eat well doing night shifts. Maybe take a protein shake or nuts, or hard boiled eggs.
ok well today is day 1 of week 2.. so Im off to do P90x chest and back and BBL cardio axe.
good luck everyone
Shannon

Shannon- you go girl with the BBL and P90X hybrid. I would love for you to send me what your schedule is like for the hybrid. I am also fine tuning my diet. It is hard sometimes to plan your diet around night shift, but its been getting better. I am avoiding sodas and snack type foods. I am eating 4-5 meals a day and I try to not go over 1800 calories.

wsdelphia- how is it going? I sometimes have trouble eating enough too.

So a long day that started at 0430 this morning for a staff meeting, so took a nap after lunch LOL. Day 2 of my 6 day slim down and it is going good! The recipes in this diet is good and I know it works from the last time I did it.

Today was Fire 45 and stretch 10, and of course I added wrist weights. It was good, but my energy level wasn't really where I wanted it to be. I finished the workout, did my best and will forget the rest. Tommorrow is another day. I have not been using the Shakeology because I want to minimize the calories when what is set out is less. Tommorrow I can use my chocolate shakeology because I do not add anything else to it. I am glad because I think that not having my shakeology is the cause of my lower energy.

KPP play!!!

Today I forgoed my rest day so that I can have my rest day on Sunday. I did TurboFire HIIT 15 and Tone 30, and boy did I bring it! I am jumping higher than I have ever jumped before and I love it! I like using the wrist weights especially for the HIIT because it brings another level of energy to put forth.

I am on day 3 of my 6 day slim down diet and I am doing great. I weighed myself this morning before day 3 started and I have lost 3lbs! If I keep this up I will loose 9 lbs!?!?!?

Hope everyone is doing great in their workout and KPP!

Hi Nikki and thank you for the invite. I am on my 6th round of P90X and run 2 to 3 days a week to pump up my cardio and to work on my tan emoticon Being a type one diabetic fitness is one of the keys to staying alive with no complications. The others are hydrating, and diet. If I had not done these over the last 20 something years I would either be dead or on dialysis with rotting feet and legs emoticon I know that sounds grim but thats what happens to lazy diabetics.

Hey nikki emoticon I just wanted to post here because I totally feel you on the shift work issue. I work 12 hour rotating swing shift at a factory and eating is an issue for me too. The only way I can work it is to keep my meals the same times during the day except for lunch and that moves to either 12pm or 12am. Breakfast is still when the sun comes up and supper when it starts to go down. Snack revolve around lunch, one before and one after. I have been working and eating this way for about 4 years, and that is the only thing that works for me. Unfortunately, I have trouble with eating too many calories and I have trouble sticking to a diet plan. I wish that I had trouble with too few calories. It seems that would be easier to deal with, lol. I am on my first round of P90X and in the beginning of week three and going strong so far.

RE: TEAM LIFE
meal planning turbofire overcoming obstacles balanced meal plan
8/27/11 5:10 PM as a reply to coachvcrouch.
The plan was to workout before dinner since we planned on going out to eat knowing that working out after eating would be difficult. Well the movie we were watching took longer than expected and then we ate lunch too late so I didn't workout early as planned. I went out to dinner and planned on working our an hour after so I wouldn't be too full. I did my workout, HIIT 25 and sculpt 30, but by the end of the HIIT I thought I was going to get sick but I held it together. I completed the full workout, and just pushed through all the excuses that were thought of ... Working out too late would not allow time with family, feeling slightly sick to my stomach, just do part of it or just do it tomorrow. It seems I can be my biggest threat, but I just proved I can overcome my self- destructive thoughts!

I have a friend I work with that dies amazingly well with her diet and she works nights with me. Her biggest advice is to prepare your meals a head of time so all you have to do is grab it rift before work. It's planned so you don't have to worry about what your going to eat. I've have been doing better with my meals as long as I plan them out! I like you timing of your meals too. I think I kind of do that too because I still eat breakfast around the time i get off around 7:30 am and eat dinner around the same time everyday. Then I spread the rest of my meals out to at least go no more than 4 hrs apart. I think if you prePlan your meals it will help you with maintaing you calorie intake. Try it and let me know how it goes for you!

I think I will preplan them. I sort of do anyway. I normally take a sandwich, yogurt, cheese sticks, carrots, and some stuff to drink. The issue I have is at home because the whole family is not on my eating plan, so there tends to be stuff there that I should not get into, but I do anyway.

You also mentioned something about working out late and not getting to spend time with your family. I am struggling with that too. On my midnight shifts, I can barely get in my workout before the kids get up ... and they normally wake up and I have to stop and settle them back down so I can finish. On day shift, I tried working out at night after the kids go to bed, but then that puts me up late and cuts into the us time I have with the hubs. I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet on that one and get my sleepy butt up at 415AM on those mornings and just do it then. Blarg....

Congrats on muscling through your workout. I did cardio X today and got a major side stitch, but held out until the end emoticon Score one for the home team for both of us emoticon

p90x chest arms turbofire
8/28/11 6:16 PM as a reply to mikeinop.
Today was Fire 30 and stretch 10 with wrist weights. Its a good workout, but I always feel it is not enough. I have been struggling with trying to loose the fat around my arms, and losing it in my chest. I asked a friend who is a personal trainer and she said weights were the key to tightening the skin to my chest. So I did 100 pushups (the last 40 I had to alternate from toe's to knee's until I could only do knee's), and I did two other chest/arm exercises. My arms are shaking, but I feel good. I am going to try to throw that it three times a week, maybe even throw a P90X chest, shoulders, tri workout it on a rest day!

Mike: Way to go with walking a total 4 miles and doing legs. Do you do any programs with beach body like P90X?
