I am on week nine of a P90X/insanity hybrid. This is my second round of P90X and I am loving it!! I have lost a total of 23lbs since March! I just finished Max interval plyo and I am spent in the best way possible.. Have you tried the P90X/insanity hybrid Keith?

Are there specific "hybrid" programs, that are predefined somewhere? Or do you just come up with your own schedule of the two products?

Here is a link to the "Mix 'n Match" Beachbody forum you may have overlooked. People create their own "hybrid" programs and we work it out! Some people do doubles (2 programs at once, others do alternating days like P90x resistance workouts on Mon, Wed, Fri and Insanity workouts on other days...there are many many options to explore and have fun with emoticon

Week 2 of a hybrid P90X/Insanity workout. Seems to be working pretty good so far. Doing it at work with a buddy of mine. People came in to laugh at us the first day, but then changed their minds when they saw us dying (in a good way.) Now we have about 4-6 people wanting to know what routine we are doing so they can join in. Pretty cool so far. Tonight is Insanity Plyo circuit. It's going to hurt, but in a good way. We'll see which one of us drops/hurls first.

I have been doing my hybrid routine for sometime now. It consist of P90x/Running/Insanity..
It is a beast. I lost 50lbs doing it.

Basically it is a doubles program. I run in the morning, Then I do either p90x or insanity depending on the day. I normally pick the 3 insanity exercises that I hate the most or have the hardest time with ... Down 50lbs. Just saying

Starting p90x/insanity hybrid today (Oct 4, 2011). I finished p90x August 30th and took a month off to recuperate and heal. How do you like the hybrid workout so far? Did you find it more difficult than the standard P90X? I struggle with cardio so this should help me get to the next level.

Rocket I just finished day 30 of P90X/Insanity Hybrid this morning. Ply Cardio Circuit. The Insanity workouts definitely take cardio to another level from anything in P90X. But I like it a lot so far. Using the schedule they have on the TBB site and WOWY. Wait until you get to recovery week and push play on Pure Cardio. It was my favorite Insanity workout so far, but it was tough. I finished P90X Classic in late August. I have not done a full Insanity program, but like what I have done so far. My hybrid round finishes in late Nov, and I plan on doing the Month 2 schedule of just Insanity in Dec. Trying to get ready for P90X2

Hybrids are great. Just be sure to set a time for each workout and stick to it. No excuses. Excuses are nothing but a well planned lie.

What fits your busy schedule better, exercising one hour a day or being dead 24 hours a day? BRING IT!

I LOVE, LOVE the Hybrid workout. P90X I never found it to be cardio intensive, however it can prep you for Insanity. I honestly don't think I could of done Insanity without doing P90X first. I enjoy the combination of strength and cardio exercising. If you want to create muscle confusion to the "nth" degree, this is what you want to do! Remember, keep your head held high, motivate one another, eat healthy. As I am sure we all heard this numerous times, but Bring It and of course Dig Deep!

I just completed a mass building program using P90X and Insanity/Asylum. After 90 Days I was able to put on 9lbs of muscle and my body fat % stayed below 8. Starting another hybrid while I wait for P90X 2. [Edited by Divya Anand]

Beginners! Keep in mind that a Hybrid program is meant for AFTER you have completed the program using the regular schedule. These programs are designed to be done on a specific calendar schedule for best results before venturing into the hybrid schedules.

Personally, my favorite hybrid is P90X / Insanity...but I finished both P90X and Insanity as written before the hybrids. Want some variety? Throw in a few Brazil Butt Lift workouts!

Tmrw I'm going to start a P90x plus 90 day routine, I kinda wana throw in some insanity into it, anyone have any thoughts? I had thought my hybrid was pretty good before but I don't think I achieved the max results I could have tho I pushed pretty hard. All in all since I started all this in jan iv lost 50 lbs but these last ten pounds or so are the stubbornest ever!

The biggest set back people tend to have when doing hybrids of any type is over training. I see people over training all time, and then they get frustrated wondering why they are working harder than they ever have, and yet do not see big results. Proper rest and nutrition is vital for any workout program, but exponentially more important if you're doing a P90x / Insanity hybrid or even a doubles style routine.

Mix and matching programs can and does work, you can see that from the success others have doing them, but you just need to make sure you work smarter and not just harder. Adjust your nutrition and supplementation to your new program and you'll get the results.

As for the last ten pounds, nine times out of ten, in my personal training experience, the last ten pounds comes down to adjusting your diet and supplementation.

Hi Bill,

I actually just ordered Brazil Butt Lift yesterday to integrate into P90X, sort of as "insurance" that I'd be hitting those target spots I need. And I'm glad I did because....

I'm a P90X newbie and today had my first experience with Kenpo X...unfortunately it just was not for me. I ended up stopping the DVD and finishing with 30 minutes of treadmill for cardio. I think it's just the continuous punching and kicking was too monotonous and rather boring. I didn't break a sweat and couldn't get into it at all and really just don't get IT. I'll give it another shot next time, but I think it's that the type of fighting/martial art exercise that doesn't really speak to me. So obviously I need to find a substitute, something that I'll respond well to because after all, if you just can't get into something it will eventually affect your progress, no?

So now that I've ordered BBL, I think I've just identified the first area in which to integrate as "hybrid".

Now, that being said, in just the few short 5 workouts I've done with P90X, I'm feeling the burn in all the right places. My body has responded pretty quickly. I haven't lost any weight but it's not that important since things are already shifting to where it's noticeable in clothes. I'm definitely motivated and have a lot of confidence in the program. So although I'm a beginner, it doesn't hurt to make small tweaks, does it?

Thanks nicholas! Well I have a pretty good diet, but I should have prob been taking in more calories than I was. I started P90x plus and tmrw is the end of first week but I decided I'm going to do insanity again instead, I have that deluxe package so I have the extra dvds I haven't done yet and I decided to add those in and do insanity to see if it helps reduce the last ten, I also just really love insanity.

Anyone on here have any suggestions for adding in the insanity upper body weight training dvd into the calander? Ppl keep saying it doesn't matter add it anywhere but if someone had a calander of it mixed in or a real recommendation of what the best option is for adding it in, it would be greatly appreciated, ill be starting it on Saturday.

I keep a pretty strict diet of low fat foods, whole grains, and veggies, along with my shakeology every morning, I think I consume about 1600 calories or so. I'm 5 foot 8 and 160 lbs but id like to drop to 150 and really strengthen my abs!

The "Hybrid" workouts are just made up by someone. The most popular is the P90X Classic and subbing the cardio days for Insanity workouts. [Edited by Prawin] I currently am doing a hybrid I dreamed up of P90X/Insanity/1-on-1's with Tony Horton. Works amazing! Can focus more on my specific personal goals this way.
