Doing a P90X and INSANITY hybrid? Or INSANITY and Asylum hybrid? Now you can auto-schedule your hybrid workouts in WOWY! Whatever schedule you're doing, just make sure you have both programs listed in your programs library here and then add your auto-schedule here in WOWY SuperGym!

I started my p90x/Insanity Hybrid Yesterday. Im sore just from the chest and back. I guess its going to take some getting use to the p90x side again since i havent done it for more than 60 days. Pull ups were killer... I couldnt crank out as much as I did when I ended p90x the first time lol.

I enjoy Insanity... Its my favorite well until i get over the fear of starting Asylum hehe

I got through the first month of doubles doing Insanity and P90-X+ and then my new copy of p90-X2 showed up. So, I'm now past the first full week of P90-X2 and Insanity (the Max Plyo and Max Circuit are BEASTS of a cardio workout).

As a distance cyclist, I've cut my training rides down to basic winter "maintenance miles" (lower intensity and slightly less distance), but doing my best to still get out 4-5 days a week.

I'm thinking I can finish the next 3 weeks of doubles...then re-evaluate emoticon

Good Luck to everyone!

Doing a modified Insanity schedule. My knees and hammies can't do the plyo and leg work everyday, so we modified.

1--Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs
2--Cardio Power & Resistance
3--Cardio Recovery & Ab Ripper X2
4--Yoga & foam roller work
5--Plyo Cardio Circuit
6--1 on 1 30:15 Upper Body Massacre / ARX or 20:12
7--off

Wife is slightly different because I'm a coach and she has Fridays off.

1--Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs
2--Cardio Power & Resistance
3--Cardio Recovery & Ab Ripper X2
4--off
5--Plyo Cardio Circuit
6--Zumba
7--run/resistance

Phase II

1--Max Cardio and Cardio Abs
2--Max Interval Circuit
3--Max Recovery and ARX2
4--yoga and foam rolling
5--Max Plyo
6--30:15 / abs

Can I see how people have done P90x and Insanity? This is what I"m doing right now, but I wonder if there is a better way?

insanity - plyo cardio circuit
p90x - chest, shoulders & tricepts
insanity- cardio and power resistance
p90x - back & biceps
insanity - pure cardio
p90x - yoga

I cut out the insanity "recovery" one b/c it's sort of like yoga, and I'm only doing the second group of p90x stuff so I can work most of my body. I figure insanity already works the legs pretty well, so I didn't add a leg lifting workout. does this look right? do you guys do abs with p90x or with shaun T?

thanks!

Hi i was wondering if there's a hybrid program that has P90X, P90X+ and P90X2. I'd like to try it if anyone can send me the link or tell me where to find it.

I'm looking to do Doubles next month after I finish Insanity. Maybe P90X in the morning and INsanity at night. How does your body feel doing doubles? Are you taking a post recovery drink?

The series of doubles (Insanity and end of P-90x in the first month and P-90x2 started the second month) and attempting to ride my bike without reducing my martial arts training proved to be a bit much for me. I completed the 2 month series, but went from really enjoying the Insanity portion to having the "need to do it to finish" mentality - forcing myself into our home gym to finish the last 3 days. The last week I was really dragging on energy and was really looking forward to finishing and being done.

Honestly, as an avid distance cyclist and long time martial artist, I really didn't need the cardio work. I had purchased Insanity for my 14 yr old son that wanted to make HUGE improvements between Frosh and JV football. Unfortunately, he bailed after the first couple days, but I chose to see what the system could provide. I know in the past, I've done p90-X with the modification of skipping the cardio-x and only doing kenpo-x (I train in Parker's Kenpo and my instructor & I know Wes, the Kenpo guy in the back of the group on the DVD) on windy/rainy days when I didn't ride, and making up for it with a 2-6 hour ride. Seems like worked for me, as my upper body got ripped from the P90-x, my legs stayed strong from my riding, and no one I know questions my cardio with the amount of riding I do.

You'll want a good recovery drink and plenty of calories to "feel strong" and energetic throughout the 2 months.

In the end, I'm glad I chose to take the challenge and complete it. If nothing else, I gained even more variety for cardio on rainy days (I HATE an indoor bike trainer) - and also some cool push-up/ab circuits to bring to my Kenpo warmups.

Stay strong and BRING IT!!!

I highly recommend the recovery drink especially when you are pushing doubles. It makes a huge difference on your follow up workout. Also, if you havn't tried the E&E yet, that stuff rocks...gets you started even first thing in the morning.

WittyDiva, adjustable weights are good, but if you are tight on funds, you should check out the bands. You can get an amazing workout with the bands and they do double duty with pull ups. Insanity of course, doesn't require any.

I have weights and resistance bands..

How do I set the bands up for pullups.. Where can I find an attachment that will hold them in place.

When I used the resistance bands with P90X, I put the bands on the back of a door. Its similar to the way they used the bar for bands in P90X. It provided resistance and helped me get stronger over time.

I'm also doing a hybrid of sorts...

I will be running through the full Insanity program Started March 26th and will finnish on June 3rd...yes I have added an extra week:-)

At the same time, I will continue P90X workouts Chest and Back, Shoulders and Artms, Yoga X and ab ripper.

Unlike you in-shape guys, I have a primary goal of weight loss (lots), but don't want to loose focuse on continuing to build and strengthen my major muscle groups. So far, I don't believe I will need to fucus anything extra on core and legs...Insanity takes care of that.

Someone tell me if I am Insane or if im doig alright. I am doing somewhat of a hybrid...except im doing both in the same day. I wake up to Insanity for cardio, then a little later in the day or evening, I will do P90x. On the Yoga / Max Recovery day I would choose one, and I dont do Insanity Plyo and Plyometrics X the same day (my legs couldnt possibly make it!)

It's not alot on my body like most would think. Im exhausted of course after Insanity, then when its p90x time i can make it through because you know p90x is slower paced, and more break times. Legs and Back day can be rough though.

I figure I have to eat a little more to compensate for both workouts so I do that, and I drink looots of water not only for the sake of working out but to take care of my kidneys. (I used to be in love wit pepsi and sodas)
