Day 41 and I can't go on.
Day 41 and I can't go on.

Day 41 and Insanity Max has done me in. I just can't do the workouts. My coach is of little help and my posts looking for advice on whether to go on to Max or back to the beginning at my halfway point went unanswered. Maybe I'll drop another 50 pounds and try it again. Hope everyone has success with Insanity, maybe I bit off more than I could chew as they say.

Hey contra111,

You have to do what's right for you. If the Insanity Max is too much (right now) then find something that does fit what your abilities are. You made it through 41 days though and that is an accomplishment and you should be proud of that fact. All I can offer for advice is to keep working out, whether it's finding another program, starting to jog everyday or whatever you can find to stay active and healthy, you should keep going.

If you want some people to talk to about concerns or problems, or even if it's just to complain, a few of us have been posting for a while now over here: http://www.teambeachbody.com/connect/message-boards/-/message_boards/message/101187170

There is a small core of people on that message board and they have definitely kept me in this. I know it's for P90X, but each of us have completed that program and have moved on to other programs, we just keep posting up to the board though. I'm still doing P90X, another is doing Insanity, another is doing Asylum and I'm sure you will find a lot of encouragement there.

Hey Contra,

I sent you a buddy request, feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I am 36 and weight 260 lbs and did P90X then went right into Insanity, it is not easy but I may be able to give you some advice that may help...I am down to 205 now and just started Turbo Fire...

Do what is right for you, but before stopping give me shout...

Mike

Congratulations on your progress so far. Insanity is no joke and your weight loss is quite an accomplishment.

Do the workouts that work for you and keep eating well and watching the cals.
It's just exercise and if the Max is too much keep doing the 1st month and try the Max some other time.

Relax. The Insanity Police will not break down your door if you modify the program.

It seems anxiety about performance and dieting just kills peoples results and drives them to quit.

Calm down people your just trying to improve your fitness, not compete at an Olympic level.
It takes steady hard work. Life is a marathon not a sprint.

Don't give up.

Giving up won't get you into shape. If your coach is unhelpful, change coaches to someone who has the time to help you.

I don't know your weight and other stats, but if you stop, what was the point of the first 41 days? If the workouts are too hard, modify. Don't get all focused on what Shaun is doing, and focus on what you CAN do.

Modify until you don't need to modify anymore.

I'm into week 8 of P90x, and while I am not satisfied with my results thus far, it is motivating me to push even harder, because I WILL NOT become obese and have high blood pressure, ect.

The day I fit back into my 34 jeans, all of this hard work will have been worth it.

Good luck to ya!

-Joel

Thanks everybody. Tomorrow is my day off, I'll think about what you guys have said. How does one go about getting a new coach? I think my guy was just interested in the discount he could get. I probably should have done the first half like my gut said, now I'm thinking the first half won't be very challenging. My mind is messin' with me big time.

Later,
Paul

Go to this board on the forum, Fitness Programs & Workout DVDs » INSANITY®

Jump in some of those threads and there will be a lot of people doing the program. You can get support from others and get varied views on things.
That way you won't be tied to a coach that could be a total moron.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys, after looking through the Insanity forum, I am going to finish the last 2 weeks of Insanity Max. I'm probably going to just simply skip the last circuit of a couple of the dvds. I am also going to do the warmups from the first half. I don't know if I'll be able to claim that "I completed Insanity" but at least I can say I didn't quit.
Thanks guys
Paul
