Addicted To Being Fit
8/28/11 10:27 AM
Well as I browse around to figure out which threads really can asist me, I just wasn't sure. I observed that there are a variety of threads for each workout program and the topics range from one aspect to another. What I was looking for was simpler, just some serious support, accountability and people who want to accomplish something together and have fun while doing it.

Just something brief about me. I am Michelle and I am 40 years old. I have two children ages, 14 and 13, who are both very active in sports. I use to be pretty active in sports as well and of course over the years gained and gained and gained. Now for sometime I have been trying to drop a significant amount of weight. I am over 200 pounds, although my doctor is amazed when I stop on the scale lol. It tends to stay pack together nicely. However, 200 is 200 in my eyes and I want to get fit.

So here I am through a lot of transition, recently switching jobs. It was very stressful due to a unjust supervisor and it seemed nothing was helping with the stress. So I have a new start and have begun feeling good with my workouts again.

I recently received Turbo Fire and want to take that journey. I have a variety of other workouts and when I accomplish this one, I will see where to go from here.

So anyone who want to join me in making it happen, encouraging one another, through the good and bad, keeping our positive minds moving and getting fit, please join me.

One more thing about me, I am full of energy and love being positive. Life is to short to be miserable. Failing is not an option in my eyes, so I keep pushing. I have a very busy schedule so currently my workouts are after my son's football practice at 9:30pm. That is a huge change for me, but I have been keeping with it. I am officially starting TF on Monday 8/29/11. So come join me.

Just know no matter what program you are doing, come join me. It's about getting fit, not what program you are engaged in.

Love to meet ya

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Of course you know I'll be joining you whenever possible. I'm doing my recovery week of Insanity and then onto month #2. I'll be working out with you Monday, but I'll do my sweating while you are at work.

Take care and looking forward to all of our results.

Hi Greg and Hi Mike:

Glad you had a minute to chime in. I can see you are working hard. Today was my rest day so I completed a Slim N 6, Slim and Limber; the stretch video.

Last Thursday, my Turbo Fire arrived and I played with it for the last days of the week. I wanted to get a feel of what it would be like. It is intense I can see that. I am very excited about this new journey. I am trying to decide if I want to follow her rest day on Wednesday or if I should stick to my rest day on Sunday. I will think about it a bit and make my decision tomorrow so I can set my schedule accurately.

Today was a good day. The rain subsided, but the strong winds continue. I look forward to tomorrow in scurrying around trying to see which highways will re-open after all the flooding. I am guessing not to many lol but I will be just fine.

I am working on my moods and pinpointing when certain moods kick in which sparks me to eat lol. I have to get rid of those fast.

Well have a blessed evening and I will chime in briefly tomorrow and let you know how all goes.

Hi guys! I'd like to join you if I may.

My name's Maggie and I'm 28. I've battled my weight my whole life. I usually go strong for about 2 months and then lose my steam. This time around im about 4 months in and going strong. Im down 15lbs and a pant size. It feels great. Up until this point i was only working out moderately but now I've kicked it into high gear. My primary program is turbo jam. I also do yoga. Proper nutrition was a toughie but after 2 years I think ive got it down, for the most part. I am getting married in May and like most brides, I want to be stunning. I love the idea of an accountability thread, so here I am. Im excited to be on this journey with you all!

I'll keep you posted.

Welcome My Workout Buddies:

Well todayis my Day 1 Officially of Turbo Fire. I should have taken my measurements and weight this morning, but I had to high tail it out of the house to get to work with the road closures from the storm. And funny enough the battery in my scale needs to be changed. So tonight I will be taking of that and take my measurements in the morning when my body is empty of food.

Today I will be completing Fire 30 and Stretch 10. This one I have done once so I know it is full of energy and I was sweating like crazy.

I am looking forward to seeing how everyone is doing and how your day is going at work, school or if you are just relaxing or working at home.

As I stated previously, I began a new job and I just love it thus far. I am the Program Manager (Director) so it requires me to learn a lot, but I love and know I can do it. Well buddies I will chime in later. Oh hey everyone what are your goal.

My goals are the following:

Weight - I am over 200 so I want to be approximately 150; I have to take my weight to see exactly how heavy I am

Financially - I want to save more money. I have noticed how active my childen are and how much I spend on their sports. So in general I need to recalculate my budget and see where I am spending unnecessarily, like ordering out for them excessively when I don't want to cook lol

Spiritually - I love God and need to get back into church. When sports begin I start missing services and Bible study due to the schedule. I want to get back to a consistent schedule with this. Right now I read my Bible and have to be more consistent. I be exhausted at night so that interferes

Relationship - Hopefully one day the right guy will find me and love me for who I am entirely.

Maggied congratulations on your engagement and soon to be marriage. I know with that mindset you will look just stunning. I can't wait to see those pictures. I am going to dig as deep as you so I can look stunning as if I am going to be coming to your wedding to lol

Have a great day all.

Hi! Just wanted to step in to offer encouragement on the journey! I started out doing Turbo Jam last fall. I loved the program so much that I ended up ordering Turbo Fire and started it in January of this year and finished it almost two months ago! I am now on the hybrid of Turbo Fire and Chaleen Extreme. I have loss some weight and inches. I do not weight myself but have gone down at least one size. You will love Turbo Fire, it is addictive and one of the best workouts I have done in a long time! When I started out I did the prep-schedule because I needed to get my endurance up prior to getting into the class schedule. I have learned that exercise is only half of the journey, you need to be mindful of what you eat as well. Make sure you take a look at the nurtrition guide that comes with the program, there are some great recipies listed. I have realized that this journey has to be a "life style" change instead of a diet. Which means that working out and eating "clean" has become a part of me. It took me a long time to come to this point, which is why I have gone up and down in my weight.

My goal now is to build more muscle and tighten. I would like to loose a few more pounds. I have this great dress that I haven't worn in a few years. When I am able to wear that dress, I know I have reached my goal. (I still can't zip it up all the way.) You might wonder why I don't weight myself? I have found out that numbers some time, can become discouraging because muscle weights more than fat and therefore, may not reflect what you see and how your clothes fit.

So, Michelle, continue to press "play" we are all in this with you!

Hello Buddies:

I have completed my official start today Fire 30 Class and Stretch 10 Class. I loved it of course. I enjoy all of Chalene's workouts. I have to say a negative energy was definitely messing with me tonight. I put the disc in and it wouldn't play. So I figured tonight I will just go out of order and start with another disc so I can get started. Wouldn't you know, that one didn't work well either. So I figured maybe it's my dvd player in the livingroom. So I decided to put the disc in the WII. LOL it didn't play in the WII either. So then I said let me try it in the laptop. Usually the laptops are not that sensitive and would play if it had a few scratches. Well it played, but paused here and there due to the defects of the disc.

Well I got my workout in. My children thought I was a little nuts because I just not giving up. It took me a good 30 minutes messing around with all the dvd players, the WII, PS3 in my house to see which would work so I can workout. Yeah I got it accomplished.

I also have been writing down everything I eat. I agree with you Noney, working out is just half the battle. Eating and what you eat and when is so important. Something I had to learn and actually battle with a lot. Because I work out so late, I was actually eating 30 minutes to an hour before because I would get home late from football practice. Or other times I would eat after the workout. I figured both were actually hindering any progress, so tonight I took my dinner with me to the football field and ate at 7. After the workout I felt like I was starving so I had sushi, just 2 very small rolls lol

Let me know what you guys have for a quick snack when you feel like that. I didn't want to feel starved and thought any small snack and nothing to heavy should get me through the night. In the morning I always feel like I am starving literally.

Well buddies tomorrow is another day. Have a blessed night and I will check in tomorrow after my HIIT and Stretch workout.

Hello Everyone:

It's 10:13 and I completed my workout. I am very sore from the HIIT workout. All that jumping made my legs sore, they felt like they wanted to give out. But I continued to push myself. Pretty clean eating today so I am pleased with that. Tomorrow is my rest day and thank God for that. I am in need of it so it came right on time. Whoopeee.

I will check in with everyone tomorrow to see how things are coming along. Tomorrow for the first time, maybe I can watch one tv show lol. Have a blessed night everyone and keep pushing play. We are all at different points in the workouts, but we can make it through them all with the motivation, encourage and great suggestions everyone has.

Have a blessed night all. I am feeling great.

Hey guys! Just checkin in.

I seem to have strained my back, so my regular workout is on hold for a minute. I did my yoga yesterday and pushed my car. Lol! Not so funny but what can you do? Anyhoo, no worries, just a small glitch in the system.

Michelle- almonds are a great healthy snack and they hold you over surprisingly well. Also, they say that sometimes when youre "hungry" you actually need water. So I would try a glass of water and a small handful of almonds.

Ttyl!

Hello Everyone:

Well Magma I am glad to hear you are feeling better. I need to do some yoga. I definitely try and get some stretching in every night after the workout.

Shel2010 welcome. I am so glad to see people getting back on track, myself included lol

Well where should I start. I completed my workout, so I am very pleased with that. I think I am keeping it at a nice pace, because my muscles are pretty sore again. You know the muscle soreness that comes when those muscles have been sleeping a while lol. Well I am glad that I have that again, means I am working hard.

I have to say I really look forward to my workouts. I come home and I am excited. I so love the music and energy in the workouts, so I am determined to keep going. I am almost done with week 1 and can't believe it. So I figured I will treat myself to a nice relaxing hot hot bubble bath lol. You thought I was going to say snack hahaha. I am going to relax for at least 30 minutes, light a candle and meditate.

Now my first external treat when I drop the first 20 pounds is to return to the spa. I can't wait. So I am pushing myself because I love the deep tissue massage and reflexology.

Well buddies keeping pushing as I will continue to do and I will catch you in WOWY. Have a blessed night.

I am really excited and completed my workout tonight. I am almost done with Week 1 and it feels great. I ate pretty well so I am very pleased. I asked my children not to offer my anything sweet unless it's a piece of fruit lol. I am very pleased that little by little my mindset is changing and this will eventually be a permanent lifestyle. I am not looking for a quick fix to loose weight so I look good in a bathing suit, I truly want a lifestyle change and then look good in the bathing suit hahahaha.

Well buddies I hope that you are all hanging in there. Chime in and let us know how you are doing and what this holiday weekend brings. That is a biggie. I decided that I was not going to overeat if at all. I am going to a bbq and may eat what I want prior to going so I am full and what I have will be healthy.

There was a bbq tonight at football practice at the field. I had a burger, but with no bread and none of the junk or soda. So I did very well. I use to eat a burger a hot dog with some chips some cake, soda and anything else there. But I am pretty pleased with that.

Well let us know how you are doing buddies. Don't forget to use each other for support and keep pushing. Have a blessed night. Take care.

Hello Everyone:

Hope everyones weekend is going well. We have a nice holiday coming up and everyone need to be mindful of what they are eating and the quantities. We usually pig out during the holidays. However, since we are all making a lifestyle change, we need to be mindful of what we are putting in our bodies.

I completed my workout this morning. I began it at 7:45am. Then on my way to football practice with my son for hours. It was pretty hot today to. I didn't do well with my eating today. Not that I over ate, I just didn't eat enough. I did so much running around with him even after, that I didn't eat the way I should have. I had some baked chicken, rice and veggies for dinner. I proportioned everything so I am sure I did well with that. No bad foods today so I am pleased with that.

I began the 30 day challenge, which appears to be pretty good. Talking about priorities and goals. It has an assignment and videos daily to keep you motivated and focused on your goals and priorities. So far it's day 3 and it's pretty good. I decided if I am going to make changes I might as well make them 100 percent.

Enjoy your weekend and hopefully I will see you in the morning in WOWY. I will be working out approximately 8am. Have a blessed weekend.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Jennifer (aka Dr. J). I am currently working on my doctorate and plan to graduate in 2013. So, needless to say working full time and school keeps me really busy.

Unfortunately, I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic earlier this year and was told I need to lose 20 to 30 pounds. I am not on medication at this point. My condition is being controlled with a healthy diet. My problem is that I eat too much of a good thing. Also, I tend to start and stop exercise programs because I get bored with the same routine. I can’t seem to maintain my focus with one program for more than two or three weeks. I like variety.

I am really excited about this thread because I can do what is right for me and still have others I can share experiences and give and receive motivation. I am currently doing Slim in 6 and Tae Bo. Yes, I LOVE the Billy Blanks workouts. They are challenging and I really feel the burn when I incorporate it with Slim in 6. I am staring week four tomorrow - and haven't lost interest emoticon. Although I have not lost any weight, my energy has increased and I feel great!

I am looking forward to staying in touch and keeping one another motivated through this journey.
