stomach pains on shakeology
stomach pains on shakeology

Hello! I have been drinking shakeology for a week and a half. I do not know if this is related or not but am looking for input. I am going to the restroom but am constipated. I have constant stomach cramps, burning, pain and am not going to the restroom like other people have stated they are. Is this normal? I drink mostly green tea with stevia during the day, could that be a problem as well?
Besides shakeology I usually eat a fruit for lunch with a kashi frozen meal and for dinner a protein with veggies.
any suggestions?

I don't think its the shakeology that is making you constipated. The Shakeology has probiotics, prebiotics and digestive enzymes so I don't think its that.

I don't know what program you are doing but if you are engaged in a high protein diet, high protein diets are hard on the digestive system. Furthmore you may want to increase your fiber intake to help with the symptoms. I also heard that green tea also acts as a laxative so you may want to cut back on your green tea...

Hope this helps.

That said, Shakeology is complex stuff, so there's always a chance you're reacting to something. Skip it for a week and see what happens.

Also, could it be that you're replacing something fibrous with Shakeology? If so, that could be an issue.

I had these same sort of stomach issues. I was having digestive problems and there was something with the Shakeology that just wasn't sitting right with me. I stopped taking it for a short while and it helped, but I didn't want to give it up. So I started using it again, but this time using a half the dose. Instead of two scoops, use one. That seemed to help the issue and I slowly increased the amount of Shakeology until I was able to do a full serving. Sometimes our bodies can have an adverse reaction to good things that we put into our bodies. I sold vitamins for the longest time (and still swear by them) but I always had to tell people that the first 2 weeks they were going to feel like crap taking them, because the vitamins were flushing out the toxins in their system. I think this was the same issue for me with Shakeology.

Hope this helps.

I agree with SkinnyPhoenix try a half scoop to start and build up to a full scoop. Also make sure you are drinking enough plain water as green tea is good but not a hydrating as regular water. Being dehydrated can be a cause for the constipation.

Not to be gross but I had a big problem with this before going on shakeology and am now pretty regular so I know it works in that area. Your body is just in an adjustment period. Good luck!

Why is no one answering these posts with any degree of honesty ?
I've had in redouble pain and gastrointestinal issues since starting these Shakes to the point of it sending me for tests with my dr.
Only now did I correlate it with the shakes which include SEVERAL ingredients used to scrape out the digestive tract . In fact it's likely if one does not stop because they don't realize it's the shakes - the digestive tract could bleed !
These shakes should NOT be taken on a daily basis and perhaps even just once a week or once a month !
