Welcome to the thread that offers help, support and motivation for all users in the UK. We are a rapidly expanding group and would love to welcome all Beachbody users across the pond.

I'm Elaine and have been using Beachbody products for almost 2 years. I've recently returned to the UK after having spent the past 5 years living in the USA. I am currently doing a hybrid of P90X, Insanity, Asylum and some One on Ones MC2 in preparation for P90X2 in the New Year. After a recovery week last week, I eased myself into things this morning with Insanity CPR, although my body wanted to slap me after a week of abuse.

Looking forward to hearing everyones story, current goals and progress from old friends and new.

Elaine

Nice one Elaine.

I'm Phil from Wolverhampton in the West Midlands. I First started P90X Mid 2010 but stopped after 7 weeks due to a totally screwed up left knee (old martial arts injury).
Restarted it this year with the intention of doing the lean version first but after 4 weeks started over with the classic version. Being careful with the knee I completed the program (Yay!) and went straight on to Insanity.

Have just finished week 6 (first Max workouts, culture shock or what?)and loving it.

When Insanity is in the bag I am starting a 90X hybrid, Can't wait emoticon

Check out the FB page, lots of good people who always have the right words of encouragement when needed and good source of information.

Hey all,

Another UK user here. I'm Si, I've been doing Beachbody programs for over a year now but only the last 6 months have been completely dedicated and this is when I've gotten the greatest results, especially with Asylum. I've completed Insanity, an X/Insanity hybrid and 1 round of Asylum. I'll be starting a new round of Asylum on Monday and am hoping to drop my bf another % or 2.
Will be starting X2 in the new year and am hoping BB can really open up their business to us in 2012 as I know a lot of people want it emoticon

Cheers!

Si

Hi Guys,

I'm Jon another of the UK FB team. I am from Norfolk and live about half an hour from Norwich. BTW if anyone is a Liverpool fan - gutted!

My journey started back in March when I turned on the TV in the morning before work and it had been left on More4 and it was showing some informercials. There was one for a steam cleaner that looked pretty good but I resisted ;-) Then the P90X one came on and it really got me interested. I hadn't even been thinking about getting fit but it just set my mind on it don't know why. After some googleing I was hooked and all the gear was on order.

I have now completed one round of X and followed it with a round of Insanity which I had to stop a week and a half into the Max workouts with a dodgy knee. Since then Elaine hooked me up with glucosamine tablets and I haven't had any more issues with it (touch wood).

I am now on week 7 (tomorrow) of an 8 week X/Insanity/Asylum hybrid (brain child of Elaine's). I'm thinking I might do a straight Asylum round next but not sure.

I have X2 on order so will be doing that whenever that arrives. Would be good to all start it at the same time. Elaine you were talking about starting in Jan weren't you?

JB

Hey everyone!! MissBruiseViolet from the UK FB group here!!!

my story - I'm a burlesque performer and while I don't have a whole lot of weight to lose I'm doing P90X in order to increase my general fitness and tone up my body as I get pretty much nekkid on stage! I just finished week 1 and am ready to go tomorrow on week 2!! My boyfriend showed me a few of the P90X workouts when he'd started doing it and that was the motivation I needed to get me going on my goal of FINALLY being happy with my body!! I have ZERO upper body strength so am looking forward to increasing that and turning this just-turned-30-OH-MY-GOD blues around!!
I have a fairly ok-ish level of fitness which increased since stopping smoking 2 years ago (yay!) and am now wanting to take it to the next level!!

Lovely to "meet" you all!!.x.x.x.x.

Hi there!!!

I'm from the UK too, Norfolk in fact and I'm about half an hour from Norwich too!

How bizarre, I thought I was the only one in the UK doing Insanity ;0)

I've been doing Insanity back to back since November 2010 and to be honest i'm a bit bored of it now. I tried P90X and it bored me to tears, I found the pace way too slow and the cardio just wasn't enough after three rounds of Insanity.

I want to give the Asylum a go now but where can I get it from?

I'd love to be a coach when Beachbody finally gets over here...Can someone send me a link to the FB page?

Many thanks guys

All the best Callie

Callie: I live near Reepham how about you? Just checked out your before and after photos - wow! That's amazing, well done. I have heard that you may be able to get Asylum shipped over from BB if you call them.

(Edited by Prawin)

Selina: I wouldn't say my knees are 100% but they never really have been but they are better that they have been in a long while. As for Korfball we lost the first game by one goal after being in the lead until 5 mins from the end - rubbish! The second game was very close too but we managed to win that one by one.

Glad you've found something that works somewhat for you Jon! Think I'll definately add that to my supps list.
Do you happen to know many calories roughly that you burn during korfball? Its definately something I'm interested in having a go at one day. Do you do any specific training regime for it?

Not sure about calorie burn. I'd say it is similar to basketball so based on a quick bit of googleing an hour is about 600 for me (Edited by Prawin)

As for training my club Norwich Knights have a club training once a week and an extra one for first and second team squad. Nothing special really, any of the BB workouts are good for it. I'd say especially Insanity/Asylum as Korfball is like interval training - when the ball is at the other end you get a bit of a rest then when its back in it is full on.

Hey!

Lee here from the FB group, living in Oxfordshire. Just about to start week 3 of P90X this evening.

My goal is weight loss and toning and generally getting myself in shape now I'm the wrong side of 40. My background is in amateur boxing but I've let that slide in the past year or two and have ended up putting on at least 20 lbs until I hit 212 lbs ot my first day P90X weigh-in. Two weeks down I've managed to shave a good 8lbs from that and aim to hit 180lbs on day 90 if possible. I think it's do-able.

Really enjoying the program so far. I'm finding the yoga and anything to do with the legs very tough (my calf muscles are especially sore) but I guess with my boxing the focus was more on the upper body so I'm pushing my legs far more than I ever have done. Hopefully I'll be able to use (and eventually share!) some inspiration and encouragement from others here and on FB emoticon

Hi mate if you find yoga x to hard or even boring id recommend replacing it with tony Horton's fountain of youth its what i do 45 min of the best parts of yoga x emoticon

And with your legs it might be hurting now but soon it will get easier.... I was massively out of shape when i started barely able to do 1 press up now i do 40 for a warm up before p90x emoticon

and recovery week starts today \emoticon
