I'm Jessica, 32. I've been working out with Beachbody since April. I did Power 90, took a two week break, and then moved onto P90X. I finish P90X tomorrow and already ordered ChaLean Extreme. It arrived today and I've already read thru most of the guidebooks. I'm going to take a one week break between the two programs, but will be ready for a new challenge starting 11-6-11. That gives me time to do the fit test, take measurements and photos...I've found that coming to the message boards every day and reporting how my workout and diet went for the day really helps me stick with things. My diet definitely has room for improvement. So, if anyone wants to join me on or near 11-6, I will be posting my progress pretty much daily and would love to have others to talk to about the program. emoticon

Hi Jessica,

I'm a few weeks ahead of you on Chalean, but i also post daily so I'd be glad to read and join in on your messages!

I am almost 46 and I have two young kids (ages 11 and 6) and I work full time outside the home. We live in Oklahoma City and
have no family here, so we rely on our friends and sometimes the kindness of strangers for family support. Fortunately, everyone is happy and healthy and we are stable in our work and home lives.

I did Slim in 6 at the beginning of the year, then moved to the Slim Series and had great results. Chalean is a whole different approach to fitness and I'm still adjusting. I'll be interested to hear what you think of it!

Yours in fitness,

Cathy

Hi, I'm Nanci. I would like o join your group.i will be a bit ahead of you as I started today. I finished Insanity 30 days ago, got decent results but am looking for more. Since completing Insanity I also completed Brazilian Butt Lift, and although I can now pass the pencil test (haha), it was too easy of a program, not enough cardio. After looking at Chalean I plan to incorporate a little more cardio and perhaps two of the BBL workouts I found very effective. I understand there is a hybrid out but since I haven't done Chalean, I decided to follow it, w only a few added cardio workouts.

I am excited to start lifting again. I was a gym rat for years and was heavy into lifting...then nursing school and commuting took over. The running three days a week wasn't cutting it. I am ready to lose some lbs and get back into shape! Having said that, for me, the diet is the most difficult. My husband who is a marathon runner loves to eat and can drink beer without gaining and expects me to be able to drink w him, haha, I can! BUT I will look like I do also!

Anyway, the accountability of the thread will help me, so thanks for starting it!

Yay! I'm so excited to have some others to start with! I have decided to also challenge myself to run 50 miles in November (Edited by Prawin). That will probably be more of a challenge for me than ChaLean! I finished up P90X with very little results; I've been at a plateau really since finishing Power90, but I blame my inability to say no to cake. I'm hoping between ChaLean and the jogging that maybe I can decrease my body fat percentage even more. Was noticing on the schedule/calendar there is only one ab workout a week. Does it feel like you are getting enough ab work? I just know in P90X I did abs 3 times a week.

Hi Jessica--I ordered ChaLean Extreme yesterday and am hoping it will arrive in time to start the program next Sunday on 11-6-11. This is the first time I'll be working out with Beachbody, so I could definitely use an accountability buddy!

I know coming here to the message boards and finding buddies definitely helped keep me accountable, so did entering my workouts in WOWY or the Supergym whichever you want to call it. And though I was reluctant at first, I'm really glad I took pictures. My first set of pictures though (because I was so reluctant) were in a tank and pants, and I wished I had taken them in my sports bra and shorts (which I did for P90X). So even if you don't post them for all to see, I definitely recommend taking them for your own viewing and comparisons. When I started Power 90 in April this year, I didn't think I was getting results, but then I could see the changes in my pics.

G'day Girls,

I am starting CE today (again), so I am hoping I can join you guys. I have been a BB customer for years and have had so many stops and starts it would make your head spin. I have no trouble with the discipline of the workouts, it's my inconsistent diet that brings me undone. Usually I am "good" during the week and then misbehave on the weekend. Need to fix that.

Anyway, I am 46 yrs old, 5'2" and 143 pounds...I would like to lose 20 pounds. I currently wear size 6-8, but for my stature I should be size 4. I recently had some back issues (hence the weight gain) and now after about 2/3 months of chiropractic, I am cleared to start working out again.

So, I plan to do a CE/Turbo Fire Hybrid, cause I think I need to amp up the cardio a little but will stay with the EZ routines to keep impact low for starters.

Jessica - I agree with you on the Ab thing. I think once a week is not enough, so I was going to do the ab routine on the lifting days and see what happens. Can't hurt.

Cathy - All my family is in Australia, so I know what it is like to be a transplant. We moved to Chicago 2 years ago and still need to find where we fit in. Prior to that we were in Raleigh, before that Atlanta, and before that Auckland NZ. I haven't done any of Debbie's programs but love Chalene's, so I hope you enjoy.

Jules - welcome the BB family. I say that because over the years being part of these threads feels just like that sometimes. Truly it is an essential part of the program and I look forward to getting to know you and cheer you along.

Nanci - wow I am super impressed that you have done Insanity!!! It sits on my shelf of BB programs gathering dust. One day. Yes, husbands can be a factor. Mine travels during the week and when he gets home on the weekend, it's like "Party Time". Again, need to fix that.

Okay then, time for me to stop rambling on and get the day started and get to my workout. Looking forward to getting to know you all better soon.

Hope you all have a great day and keep pressing play.

Cheers
Jeanette

I agree that once a week abs doesn't seem enough. Also it was strange to me that burn one was yesterday and today is a rest day...so I ran 40 minutes and did core video from the px 90 knock off, which I actually really enjoyed.

I didn't get to take my before pics today (or my end BBL photos), but I will soon. I weighed in and was surprised that I was 4 pounds down since my last weigh in 30 days ago when I started BBL. No change in my measurements, so I will be curious to see the photos.

Keep pushing play!

G'day Girls,

Happy Tuesday to everybody, hope the day is treating you well so far. Work out done as planned yesterday and today I will doing TF EZ55.

Yes Nanci, I found the schedule a little weird so I am just doing cardio and weights on alternate days and taking Saturday as my rest day cause my body is looking forward to it after the 5 week days of working out. Plus like I said, weekend are always my nemesis. Hopefully I get inspired enough to do an extra cardio workout on Sundays, well at least this is the plan.

Can't say that I have or will plan to take pictures anytime soon. Yes, I know this is an important part of the motivation and logging of progress, but I just can't do it. I really hate what I see in the mirror right now so a picture of it is just depressing. Maybe I will change my mind once some of the podge comes off, we will see.

Anyway, lots to do today and I now need to get to it and my workout.

Have a great day

Cheers

Diet was great today until my husband asked me to pick up KFC for dinner. I had 2 biscuits, a leg, and a thigh! So now I have to go work off at least half of those calories. I'll jog a few miles and maybe if I still feel motivated I can do CardioX or something. It stinks too because I went to the store and bought all kinds of healthy foods and had done great all day. Was gonna keep dinner really simple like a veggie omelet. Wish I could have resisted the chicken and biscuits emoticon

Hey everyone!
I have had this program since it came out a few years ago- I have never been able to stay motivated to finish the 90 days. I love Chalene and Turbo- but this one is not as "fun" to me, because it's not dancing around. It's SUCH an important work out so I want to be accountable to a group, so this seems perfect!
Meredith
ps- If you listen to track 7 on the motivational CD, you will hear my story, something that was SUCH a HUGE honor that Chalene talked about it on her CD emoticon Anyway, let's motivate each other!

G'day Girls,

Hope Wednesday is treating you well so far. Did my Turbo Fire EZ55 yesterday as planned and today I have Burn 2 and Ab Burner, plus a big cleaning day ahead. Oh Joy!!!

Jules - yep I hear you on the food choice issue, that's my problem too. BB has been pretty good these days with their shipping so I would surprised if you don't see it by the weekend. In the mean time do you have free weights or bands to work with once it arrives? It was pricey at the time but one of the best investments I made was the Select Tech Dumbells, worth saving for I reckon.

Meredith - Yes, sticking with the 90 days is sometimes hard, that's why I have substituted Turbo Fire on cardio days cause I enjoy it more than Interval training. Plus I have added an ab routine to each of the lifting days. I will have to dig out the motivational cd and have another listen for your story.

Jessica - sounds like you need a smack, just kidding. Always tough when the family is having something naughty. As long as it's not all of the time, it's not that big of a deal. At least after shopping you will have healthy alternatives for the rest of the week.

Well this isn't getting the bathrooms clean now, so I best get to that lovely job and then to my workout.

Have a great day and keep pressing play

Cheers

Welcome Meredith!!!! I am pretty new to MFP but I will try to find you over there.

I did manage to knock out 3.5 miles on the treadmill last night and then walked another half mile to cool down. Burnt 560 calories according to the heart rate monitor! I am going to try watch the Burn Basics DVD today or tomorrow and I'll give the CD a listen too. I wanted to give myself a rest week before jumping in, but I'm getting impatient emoticon

Good evening ladies!

I like this thread! Lots of ladies with the same goals and same problems shared. I feel like with each response I read, I could relate in one way or another.

I will start CLX tomorrow (11/3/11). I work 2 weekend nights a week so starting on Thursdays with this program is best for me. That way, I always have Friday and Sunday off.

I absolutely love lifting weights. I am looking to lose about 30 lbs. I am 5"4 and #160. I just had to take my yearly wellness screening at work (which we must do in order to be eligible for health insurance) and my BMI was too high...AGAIN. I do carry my weight very well. Most people guess me to weigh in the 130s??? I don't know how but they do. Also, when I look at myself in a mirror I don't see where the weight is either. I've always had a muscular frame. Hopefully this time I can gain muscle and become more lean.

This will be the 3rd time that I've started CLX (and the first time I've finished it!!!) I'm also going to add Zumba to it just for more cardio effect.

It is so nice to meet everybody here. Cheers to you and to staying on track with the program!

Claire

G'day Girls,

Sorry I was MIA yesterday but I was a little busy. I did do my work out though which was Turbo Fire EZ55 and was rather proud of how I went with it. Today is Burn 3 and Ab Burner which I will get to in just a little while.

Claire - well big welcome to you. Yes I can see by your pic that you appear to carry your weight rather well, lucky bugger. I look in the mirror and see exactly where mine is. emoticonemoticon
Anyway I am looking forward to getting to know you better and completing this program all the way through with you. Here's to getting ChaLEAN.

Time to get Extreme Baby, as Chalene says.

Have and awesome Friday ladies.

Cheers

Finished my first week of ChaLEAN extreme. I added abs 3 days instead of the one as well as adding extra cardio. I feel pretty good about the week, all in all.

Hope everyone else is doing well reaching their goals.

Hi ladies!

I am starting CLX tomorrow 11/6 and this will be my first every beachbody program. A little about me, I'm Lora, 33 and mom to a beautiful 20 month old little girl and an attorney. I have been carrying extra weight (before I ever got pregnant). I gained about 30 pounds while pregnant, but unfortunately, I gained about 45+ pounds in the years after graduated law school and began my career. Lunches on the fly and failing to make time to workout put A LOT of pounds on the scale. I dedicated myself to working out and losing weight for my wedding and I did so well, but after the honeymoon I was completely done with the gym. I had spent so much time there before the wedding, I couldn't stand the sight of the place. I went right back to lunches on the fly (between hearings & depositions), which meant lots of fast food and not making any time to workout. Suddenly, I had a lot of extra weight and I was pregnant.

I tried to get back to the gym, but I am just over it. I want to have as much time at home with my daughter, since I am away all day. The gym and all the various boutique gym "studios" do not fit my schedule as a mom. So here I am. I have lost roughly 50 pounds since the birth of my daughter, but I have 30-40 to go. I think this is going to be a good fit for me.

I'm looking for buddies to keep me accountable and to inspire and motivate me. I really do believe I have found the right place.

G'day Girls,

Happy Saturday to all. Today is my rest day and I am grateful for that. Yesterday I did my workout as planned, 2 weeks of my hybrid in the bag. Didn't eat very well last night so I am not very proud of that.

Lora - welcome to the thread. I know what you mean about being "over" the gym thing. Plus like you say you have time constraints now and spending time with your little girl is so much more fun the the extra time it takes to get to and from the gym. The beauty of this program is that most of the workouts are 45 mins or less but oh so effective. I look forward to seeing how you like it.

Nanci - Yay, 1 week done!!! What do you think of the program?

Julie - did your package arrive yet?

Claire - how are you liking the program after a couple of days.

Jessica - I bet you are ready to get started tomorrow.

Meredith - How is it going for you.

Okay time to get the day started. Hope yours is fabulous.

Cheers

I've been in a funk these last two days. My husband fell off a ladder at work on Friday and though he thankfully did not break any bones, he has been very sore and layed up in bed on muscle relaxers and pain pills. I've been slacking with working out, but WILL be better. I had my lowest weight on the scale in over 2 years this morning and then proceded to eat cake and cookies at my cousin's birthday party and have frozen pizza for dinner :/ I was good otherwise though. I did my measurements, and did them how she directs you to do them in the guidebook, which was a little different from how I had been doing them so my numbers jumped up on my chest and waist sizes, but I'm not concerned at all. Looking forward to see how much different she is than Tony, after having done Power 90 and P90X. She lifts WAY slower, so that will be an adjustment, also she wants you to shoot for failure at 12 reps, not 15. I will have a hard time figuring out weights but will use the tracker. I'm 7/50 on my miles run so far in November! I should have done some today but after my horrible dinner I have a bit of a belly ache and don't feel up to it. Tomorrow = Day 1!!!

Hi everyone!!

It's Sunday morning, and I'm enjoying my pre-workout cup of coffee. I did my fit test yesterday and my measurements this morning. I will also be taking pictures today (although those will not be posted on this site due to my profession).

Jessica--I am sorry to hear about your hubby but am so happy to hear that he is okay and recovering. Those things are always scary. Also, I agree that the way she suggests doing measurements is a little different from what I'm used to as well. The way I look at it, is that those numbers don't really matter --it's just a starting point, and they will be useful to track progress as we move forward through the program.

My eating was good yesterday, but it was terrible for the previous 3 days. I'm hoping that I will be able to take charge of the nutrition part of my 90-day journey.

Well, I wish you all the best today as you start or continue this program emoticon

Best,

Julie

Hi,
I am just finishing up Turbofire and have been working Chalean Extreme in on days when I want to do some extra weight training. I love how motivating Chalene is. I also have P90X and I don't really care for the pace of Tony. I am wondering what other programs you all have done? I am considering Insanity next to mix things up a little. Or, I may just do a TF/CLX hybrid.

I work full time and have a one year old son at home so finding time and being accountable has been a challenge for me. So many ways to make excuses! I just developed a facebook accountability page for women who want to stay accountable and motivated to their fitness goals. Its a great way to share ideas, recipes and give advice, support and motivation to each other. If any of you would like to join my group, I would love to have you. Send me a buddy request and I can give you more details. Its fun and free and a great group of women so far.

Christine
