Shakeology, diabetes & low carb diets
Recently I was put on medications for diabetes. I have been following a low-carb diet which has been helping to bring down my glucose levels. I would like to incorporate Shakeology into my diet plan but was wondering how carbohydrate intensive Shakeology is, if at all. Are there any studies related to diabetics using Shakeology as part of their diet? I'm curious to know if Shakeology has been a good nutritional tool for diabetics and what studies have been conducted to show the effects. Any information or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Here's our official stance from the FAq:

Since needs vary for each person with diabetes, it's recommended that you check with your doctor first. However, since Shakeology is a low-caloric meal replacement, with a lower glycemic index than most meals, it should be acceptable for most people with diabetes

I agree that you should check with your doctor first, its always better to be safe then sorry after all.
On that note, I was wondering what low carb diet you are on and what the range of carbs you are aiming for is?
I ask because I follow a primal/paleo diet which works awesome for me, and Shakeology totally fit into it, 1 shake has such a low GI and less carbs then many fruits, plus the sweetness in it come from Fructose which is fruit sugar, not refined table sugar or any fake stuff.

I would say that if your doctor says it would be okay for you to use (I highly doubt he will say no) then you should go for it.

MY wife is diabetic and she consulted her endocronoligist first. But he gave her the go ahead to do it. And has been having good results and it even has caused her to lower her insulin rates. And has vastly improved her blood sugars.

Good news!! I just came from visiting my dietician today and I showed her a package of Shakeology. She was enthralled with all the nutrients listed and felt that it would be a great addition to my low carb diet, especially as a breakfast meal. A packet of Shakeology with almond milk, half banana and a tablespoon of peanut butter she felt would be just the right amount of carbs and protein to take before working out (I usually do my workouts in the morning after breakfast). Initially I was cutting allot of carbs... down to about 40 per day. She felt this was way to low for me and was afraid that I might fry out after a workout with such a low amount of carbohydrates. She upped me to 130 grams per day. I am working out about 5 days per week for 45 to 60 minutes each time and she felt that 130 should be the minimum. Shakeology will allow me to stay well within that range while providing my body with superior nutrients. I was very happy to see her reaction. I left the packet there with her so she could try it! Just thought I would share my good news! I got this straight from a registered dietician who is fully certified in handling patients with diabetes! Incidentally, I have been taking it for the past few days anyway and yesterday I noticed a 10 point drop in my glucose levels. I have been running in the upper 90's to 100's but yesterday they stayed down in the mid to upper 80's throughout the day!! The only change I made to my diet was the inclusion of Shakeology!!! I'm totally stoked!!!

Glad you visited your dietician, because yes, 40 grams of carbs a day for a diabetic is WAY too low. I've been a type 2 diabetic for a little over 8 years now. I aim for 120-130 grams a day! A snack will be in the 15 gram range and Shakeology is right on par with that. If I use it as a meal, 1 mini banana or strawberries with some PB2 (it's a powdered peanut butter, but natural PB or other butter is great too) and you are still at a good range for a meal to keep your levels where they should be.

Shakeology has helped me maintain healthy levels and get off my meds! I was taking 3 metformins and 2 glyburides a day for years until starting Insanity and Shakeology in April, since then i've been med free!
