It does not matter which program you are doing, all are welcome. I am working on "REV ABS".
As you can tell from the title I'm a fan of Simon Pegg, and back in college I used to run all of the time. I even cycled and competed in biathelons and triathelons. But flash forward 20 years and I was seriously out of shape. I had a back injury when I was 28 and never could seem to regain my athleticism. I tried many different diets and programs and none of them seemed to work for me.
I had heard about P90X from several co-workers and my son had begged me to buy it for him. So I did but after 3 months he had given up saying the program was too hard and he had put on 20 pounds of fat. I told him that you don't get there by wishing for it! You put the disk in and dedicate an hour of your day to it!! He told me, "It's not as easy as that" So I told him to give it to me for 90 days and that I would show him what I could do.

When I started P90X on 10/3/2011 I could barely do 5 pullups, I weighed 245 with a 48 inch waist. My body fat was 36% and my blood pressure was 247/130. Now on 1/1/2012 I weigh 230 pounds, my jeans are size 38, my body fat is down to 22.8% and my blood pressure is 145/83.

When my son came back for the holidays he was so impressed and a little ashamed that he told me, "DAD, I want it back!"
"Only if you use it!" I said to him.

My goal is to get my weight back down under 200 pounds and shrink my waist down to a 32. I want to be able to go out running again without my knees hurting. That will more than likely take a year overall.

You are here because like me you want to blow the roof off of your goals. X2 is a continuation of P90X, so welcome to the next level.

Let's buckle up and go for a real intense ride.
You will need to write down everything that you eat and plan out your meals for the week. Success does not happen overnight. It is achieved through planning, preparation and finally execution.

I want you to tell me about yourselves and what your goals are. Is it to lose weight? Get more fit? Bulk up? Get into that dress or suit that you have hanging in your closet? Do you want to look great for a reunion?

Which ever program you are doing requires a commitment and a lot of decisions.
What am I going to eat? Do I feel like working out? If I'm injured or sick should I work out?

We will work together in your program and all have sucesses as we reach our own personal milestones. Lets have a great year!

Some snack ideas that don't involve protien bars
Celery and carrots
A small apple
A box of raisins
A small pack of crackers
A chicken drumstick
1 cup of yogurt
1 cup of cottage cheese
string cheese
1 cup of almonds (or any type of nut)
1 cup of edename peas
1 cup of dried wasabe peas
1 packet of oatmeal
1 cup (or box) of 100% juice
1 jar of baby food (fruit mostly)
1 cup of apple juice
1 fruit cup
1 slice of whole wheat bread with Nuttella

These can all be bought in bulk and seperated out into their respective portions and packed into a small insulated lunch bag. Keep with you at work (if you can) and set a timer to go off every 3 hours, then eat accordingly.

Just my nickles worth

Coach DDC - great thread! Those are some great snack ideas. I'm not much a protein bar person myself, so I'm sure that there are others that will find the information useful!

You are a great asset to Team Engage, and I know that you will go far in helping others in their journey to health and fitness.

Keep up the great work!!

I made it through Plyocide for X2 but I had to modify it due to my limited range of motion because of my siatica. I was unable to complete "Jack in the Box Knee Tuck" and the "Frog Burpee Hops." There are a lot of exercises that call for you to balance on one leg so I kept a chair handy and only used it about 1/2 of the time.
The first 3 weeks or so are there for you and your body to get used to the exercises. Go for form over speed.

Hello CoachDD,
Awesome thread, it is great to see someone so motivated. Congratulations on your progress with P90X, and thanks for inviting me to your thread of X2ers.

I can say, on day 18 of X2, the enthusiasms for the program hit me, now I am on fire. I just started Phase 2; I am on W1D3 of it and ready to "blow the roof off”. I have been blogging my progress in my BB blog and documenting on YouTube, I am so excited with the progress thus far and I am only on day 23.

Unlikely many that started P90X2, I am starting cold, due to a couple of medical setbacks. For me to be able to do it and actually see results is amazing. I can feel my endurance building and myself getting stronger.

I could not utilize the NG so I started WW on W3 of X2 and had an amazing 8.8lb loss in a week; I am so excited to see where P90X2 takes me.
Wishing you as much success with X2 as you had with X, and once again congrats on your awesome progress.

What's up DDC?

Great start to 2012 for you, and congrats on your results from P90x. I'm definitely looking forward to following this thread as I'll be starting P90x2 on Feb. 6th. I'm sure I'll learn a lot from reading about your experience with it.

Hello!!

My name is Toni. I did P90X a little bit ago(finished at the end of Oct). Since then I did some P90X/Insanity mix and just generally kept working out. I started P90X2 on 12/25/2011. I am on week 2 and love it. I can already tell my core is getting stronger.

My personal goals are to generally be fit and to look good. My 40th birthday is coming up in April and I want to be able to say I can wear a bikini!! I'm probably not going to(it's not my style), but I just want to be able to feel like I could if I wanted to!!

I'm almost at that flat belly. My waist is currently 30" and I 'think' I need it to be about 29" to look flat. We will see when I get to 29"...LOL.

I'm also incorporating running into my program. My goal is to be able to run three miles in thirty minutes. Today I ran 3 miles in 32 min 37 sec, so I'm getting there!!

Look forward to hearing more from you!!

FishinNate: Drop by anytime.
tichatte: How did you do on the X2 Yoga?
CoachHaroldM: Glad to have you!
TRC1: Glad to hear you are doing well.
Coach Larry: Thanks for all that you do.
CoachJenB: Thanks for stopping by.

This forum is for everyone! We are all in this together and we all have different schedules. I will try to be consistent with my postings here as much as life will allow.
But you all need to speak up as well!
How was your workout today? Did you struggle with a move? Did you have an awesome workout or did you have a bad workout? Did you have to modify a move? Or have you finally got it down pat where you can do it unassisted?

DDC thanks for he invite! Lots of inspiration in this thread! I started power90 march 25th 2011 weighing in at 370 pounds. Since then I completed p90, went through p90x....ab ripped x was a beast and most days it was ab ripper 300....or less ;-). I went on to finish insanity.....best cardio workout I've done....and now I have started p90x2 and am in phase 2 week 1. Loving it so far!

.I would say my goals are to tone up a bit and maybe build a little muscle mass to tighten the loose skin I have from my weight loss.

I guess I should say last year I lost 226.5 pounds.....I weighed 426 in January and finished the year at 199.5.
