barbell assembly issues?

Hey all I just opened my Les Mills program, only to find that one of the weights barely fits on one side of the barbell, and I can't get the safety piece on that side either emoticonemoticonemoticon

Is anyone else having this issue with the equipment?

I have a customer with the same issue. I told her to contact customer service as I am sure they will be happy to help!

yes! one of my clips barely made it on the bar but didn't even come close to locking. i called customer service and they said i should receive a new one within 3 days. customer service was friendly and easy to work with, but i am a little frustrated about it. it'll be interesting to see how many others have this problem...

I'm definitely glad they're willing to send out replacements, it's just annoying because the program was as really pricey, and even though I was able to finally get them on but at the end of the program I had to use dumbbells to do the shoulder track because there was no way I was going to pause the dvd and then struggle for 20 minutes trying to take the safety clip and weight off. But I'll definitely be contacting beachbody and hopefully I can get replacements soon!!

I just got mine.... same issues. I can't get one of the safety clips to come close to locking down, and the other safety clip is barely closing. I'm a little frustrated because I have been looking forward to this program since the rumors first started that they were teaming with Les Mills. I would have liked to have seen a little higher quality.

I called customer service yesterday and was told that they'd ship out a replacement 5lb weight and a safety clip, and that I would receive an email with my tracking information. I haven't received that email just yet, but I'm hoping since beachbody is pretty reputable they will come through with their promises, but I agree, I was looking forward to getting the program in the mail, and figured at over $160 with shipping and tax, the quality would be good. Sadly I have to say this disappointments me.

If I were you, I would definitely give customer service a call that way you can get your replacements and start the program!

I am disappointed too because my safety clip does not clamp down and unfortunately Customer Service has been of no help. I have called every day for the past four days and am always told that my replacement is going out that same night and I would receive a confirmation email with tracking number, only to receive no email. I call Customer Service the next day only to be told that there was a mistake and that "rest assure, your order is going out tonight , etc. etc. etc." I have received this same canned reply on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and today.

All I know is that for whatever reason, no one is sending out my replacements. I did ask to speak with a Supervisor today who informed me that my replacement was shipped 2nd Day Air on Friday, but yet they have no tracking info and although it was shipped 2nd Day Air, I was told that I should receive my order in 3 - 5 business days. When I questioned as to when I will receive an email if my order was shipped Friday, I was then told that actually my order is on the last batch of orders to go out, so basically nothing has shipped. I am confused by Customer Service who themselves are just as confused and bottom line is I spent good money on a system that I cannot fully use.

I didn't even RECEIVE any clips with my package... called BB, it took over a week to get the replacement understandably... but they didn't send clips, they sent another barbell!! No clips again!!! So we called them AGAIN... we will see what we get this time. Kinda disappointed.

Unfortunately this is what is happening to me now. I FINALLY received an email confirmation tonight regarding my replacement and I noted that my package is 8 lbs. I had a feeling that they sent me the wrong item, as every time I call this week, they keep mentioning "screw together" (I'm guessing that this is the barbell) and I keep telling them no, I need safety clips (in the past several days, I have spoken to four representatives, one supervisor, and did two online chats, and always have said I needed safety clips. Well I just did an online chat and was told that yes, they ONLY shipped me the barbell, which I told them I do not want, and they DID NOT send me safety clips and now I will have to go through this process all over again and request safety clips. I am p-i-s-s-e-d off!!!!!!

I was so looking forward to my Les Mill's Pump and now my feelings have soured.

I'm a coach, and I usually stand behind beachbody 100%, but now I'm starting to question it. A few bad equipment reviews I could understand, but as many complaints as I've come across, and now the stories of battling with customer service makes me really start to wonder...

Littleone, I hope that you receive the parts that you need. I am waiting for replacement which should arrive this week (I called this morning to start the replacement process all over again as I was told to do so last night and I was told to just wait and see what replacements were shipped, as the rep felt that the correct one was sent, even though by the weight of my package, it seems that another bar "screw together parts" was sent.) He felt that the rep and supervisor I had an online chat with last night were incorrect in telling me that no safety clips were sent --- right now it seems that it is a guessing game among the reps regarding what was sent. That same rep I spoke to today from Beachbody called me moments ago and told me that he looked at the SKU number from my replacement order and my replacement should include a bar and collars (I hope he is correct about the collars as I need my safety clips.)

You should call Customer Service today because if your package has shipped they can tell by the SKU number on the replacement order what was shipped to you and it is obvious by the size of your package that your 5 lb weight was not included.

Hey Everybody. I just received my Pump package and also have a problem with the clips. When I was watching Pump Basics I saw her clips had a fat end and a skinny end. My clips only have the skinny end and the weights spin around freely when the clip is on.

I chatted with customer service and they are going to send me new clips. Hope they send the right thing. Did anybody receive their replacement yet?

My first set of safety clips would not go on the bar. I was sent a second replacement set of clips and only one clip goes on the bar. I called again and they said they would sent out 2 new sets of clips. I received the 4 new safety clips today and none of them go on the bar!

Now I have 8 safety clips and just one of those go on the bar! 1 out of 8 is a poor ratio. I called again and now they are sending 4 new clips and a barbell!

Very disappointed in the quality of the equipment. Even more disappointed because it's been 3 weeks and I can't do the workouts that require a barbell.

The safety clips only go on one way. One side has little dot's on it. Use that as your guide, is that inside or outside.

Another option, is to look for screw on clips at your local sporting goods store.

I have problems removing the clips, not due to construction, but due to arthritis in my thumbs.

I am still waiting for my replacement, which should arrive today. (it was a nightmare dealing with customer service in even having them send me replacements and then a daily battle with different reps and supervisors playing a guessing game, if my clips were sent out or not.)

The option of purchasing your own clips is not that easy .... I purchased safety clips (which I prefer over the collar type) and the Pump barbell is over 1" in size and therefore 1" safety clips are too small ..... I have seen the Muscle Clamps on online sites however, those appear to be 2" in size and I was told that they are made specifically for olympic size barbells.

The only other option would be to purchase another bar and use the weights included with Pump Set and the safety clips that I purchased after finding out that my Pump ones are defective, however, I have already spent $244 (Pump Set plus the additional dvds) and I shouldn't be spending all this extra money, since my original set should be free of defects.

UUGGHHHH my replacement arrived and the safety clips were not included. I deleted my previous rant, as I contacted Team Beachbody and I am giving this one more go as another replacement for safety clips is being put together and hopefully this time I will receive my replacements.

I've had the exact same problems - one weight wouldn't go on and one clip wouldn't close. Flipped the weight and put it on the other end - no issues. Reversed the clip as well, it locked. Try every conceivable combination on them, one might work.

Thanks. Have tried the clips from both sides. They simply do not fit. I have 8 clips now and only 1 works. More are on the way!

It's been 3 weeks now and still do not have a pair of clips that work. Very disappointed.

I don't feel I should spend additional money on new clips since the Les Mills Pump was so expensive. I confirmed that there is a problem with the clips and they are trying to resolve it.

We had this same issue with customer service - once they sent just the barbell and no clips and the other times they didn't even ship the clips requested.

Solution - we ordered Standard Lock-Jaw Collar from Amazon...$20. They fit on the bar perfectly and are very easy to take on and off. If some of you are sick of waiting, this might be the best solution to get up and running.

We just got another package from Beachbody and guess what it was...another barbell - no clips! On top of that, the two pieces they sent are both male, so they cannot be screwed together.

Customer Service has been very helpful in the past, but this is an absolute joke! Good thing we ordered the collars from Amazon - we won't be contacting BB about this anymore...not worth the time.
