There's enough caffeine to carry warnings that those with caffeine sensitivity should use it sparingly. The label has Caffeine listed as the first ingredient in their 455mg of "Proprietary Energy Blend"

http://www.beachbody.com/text/products/supplements/energyendurance/Energy-Endurance_30Day_Label.pdf

I did some quick research on the second ingredient (L-Citrulline Malate) in an attempt to determine expected concentrations a product like this & that didn't help. Most studies in humans that have been done on that ingredient are using 6000 - 8000 mg over course of several weeks to see an effect. That's 30x or more than is in a serving of E&E.

Since ingredients are listed from most common to least, there has to be at least 225mg of caffeine (assuming the Citrulline is 224mg as the 2nd-highest ingredient and the remaining ingredients are only 1mg each), but it could go as high as 449mg if all other ingredients are simply there as window-dressing at 1mg each.

Those numbers themselves may be a bit of red herring since you can't tell if the ingredients that make up the Caffeine are just caffeine by weight or if they include the mass of the entire ingredient of which only a fraction is caffeine.

I've seen a few reviews of it and even the most positive can't find anything good to say about the flavor.

Does anybody know if one needs to cycle off of EE like other brands of pre-workout boosts. I don't see anything in the ingredients list that suggest cycling off is necessary.

No need to cycle off this.

Thanks Andrew I was wondering about this as well. What are the reasons/causes for needing to cycle a pre-workout?

It looks like this is an old post, but to answer your question (or at least to attempt to) in case anyone else is reading this and wondering, I would assume the reason you might need to cycle off other pre-workout drinks is that most (if not all) the others I've seen contain creatine, which requires cycling. This one does not contain creatine, which allows you to add your own creatine during your "creatine month(s)" and remove it during your non-creatine month. Personally, that's why I take E&E. I like that flexibility.

Thanks,
Brad

You do not need to cycle off creatine. It's an old myth.

Oh and the caffeine content in most pre-workouts are about 300mg which is equivalent to about 4 cups of coffee. I may not be correct, but most serving sizes are considered because of stimulants.

I still recommend cycling off of it occasionally, or trying other brands (C4). After using E&E for a few months, it quit giving me the extra boost. I switched to C4 and the kick came back. I've been off all pre-workout supps for awhile now, may give it another shot.

There are 200mg of natural caffeine in one serving of E&E. This is less than "a 12oz cup of premium coffee". Check out this site: https://beachbody.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1647/~/energy-and-endurance---caffeine

Darrell, there's approximately 80mg of caffeine per scoop in E&E which is extremely minimal. 2 scoops is recommended to get a good effect.

For optimal workout performance I suggest 75mg of caffeine per 50lbs of body weight. But 2 scoops is a good bet for most individuals.

There's no need to cycle creatine or pre workout supplements with caffeine.

Over prolonged use the only thing that will fade with caffeine is the acute benefits such as mental alertness (if used every day), but this does not mean the workout enhancing effects fade as well such as increased repetitions or a reduction in perceived effort.
