Shakeology-Is it a better Meal Replacement for Lunch or Dinner?
Shakeology-Is it a better Meal Replacement for Lunch or Dinner?

I've been asked by Friends on when is the best time of the day to take this as a meal replacement to lose weight...

1) Is it a better Meal Replacement for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner to lose weight?

2) If you take it at dinner time will it keep you up during the late night with all those healthy nutrients or will I be able to sleep?

3) I work all day BUT I'm doing the P90X program on the 2nd week now around 6p.m daily so when would be the best time for me to drink the Shakeology.....I notice I feel tired around 2-3p.m everyday....

Please advise on all 3 questions.....thanks!

These are just my personal opinions:

1. I think if you're trying to lose weight, then Shakeology would be best used as a meal replacement for dinner. The reason I say that is you want to have your meals be less calories as the day goes along, so Shakeology for dinner at 140 calories might be the best option.

2. I have taken Shakeology for dinner and never had any problems sleeping at night.

3. This is a little trickier question to answer, because I'm wondering what time lunch is being eaten. If you're eating lunch at 12:00 pm, then you could have Shakeology when you're feeling a little tired in the afternoon. It might be just the pick me up you need.

Thanks MBRUNO that is good feedback....I figured Dinner time would be best but wasn't sure if it would keep someone up late at night or not...as for me I've been drinking coffee after lunch for more energy but now I will replace that with a Shakeology and also have the energy for my P90X workout later on....

thanks and have fun playing your softball I need to do that again after my P90X is completed 1st...

As a Certified personal trainer, I totally agree with Gary. & in my own opinion taking Shakeology as a means of just being a weightloss tool might be discouraging to some. They would have to actually replace a regular meal, like supper. Problem is that major meals should be around 300-500 calories. So I usually suggest clients that just won't or don't eat breakfast to use this powerful and convenient shake. Otherwise I suggest it as a nutrient packed snack, best in the early-mid afternoon. Preferably 3 hrs after lunch and 1 hour before working out (if you workout before supper). Replacing supper with this one will be challenging for most because depending on the time of supper and if one worked out that evening or late afternoon they will struggle with being hungry & therefore most likely fail.

I will try at breakfast time 1st to see how I feel and if I still have energy throughout the day & to work-out in the evening otherwise I will need to test it around lunch time....emoticon
