Weight Watchers and P90X

Is anybody here doing (or has done) P90X and weight watchers at the same time? I committed to a team and weight watchers prior to p90X (am on week 3). My thought was that I'd stick with weight watchers and try to eat cleaner under that program. I've had results with weight watchers in the past, so thought it would work fine. I'm using recovery drink and shakeology (and counting those points, of course). Anyway, my question is that I've plateaued with my weight in the last 3 weeks. I’ve exercised fairly heavily in the past while doing weight watchers and used to counting activity points and managing that – so I don’t think it’s that I’m not eating enough. I’m used to a steady loss from past experiences and am getting a bit frustrated.

Any thoughts?

The Weight Watchers program is a good program for busy (or uninterested) people that don't have time (or interest) to track calories and ratios. The downside to any "food score" program that that 'a point is a point is a point'. In other words, they don't really distinguish between macronutrients that your body needs to hit your specific goals.

If you want to stay the weight watchers route, my advice is to pick your foods based on the caloric ratio needs to meet your personal goals (e.g. more protein for fat loss, more carbs for more energy, etc.). I would refer you to Michi's Ladder to make wise choices to get these macronutrients.

As far as hitting that plateau, keep pushing play. You are in week 3 right now, and you will be switching phases soon which should help you break out of it.

Don't get discouraged and keep going!
