Any Pregnant Moms Out There?
power90 while pregnant working out while pregnant
2/24/12 11:54 AM
Hi, everyone! I just became a coach in late December and started Power90 at the same time. Around the second week in January, and my third week into the program, I suddenly lost ALL motivation and interest in working out and was completely exhausted ALL THE TIME. Two weeks after that, I discovered why! The very day I became pregnant was the day I stopped working out. I kept a calendar and was tracking my workouts and the checkmarks stopped right then and there. For two weeks, I looked at that calendar with little to no interest and wondered why, when I had been so motivated prior to that.

For all the pregnant ladies out there: How do you stay motivated and have enough energy to work out?? I just want to take a nap!

Hi emoticon

That happened to me as well. I was going really strong for awhile, and then lost it all. Got really exhausted, and slept most of the time. Of course i didn't relate all this to pregnancy ;)

I'm into my 20th week being pregnant, and I finally have enough energy to clean the house. LOL

I plan on starting Turbo Jam again here soon. I suggest walking if you don't already do that.

Congrats on your pregnancy, and if you want you should add me as a buddy. I would love to be friends with a fellow pregnant beachbody coach emoticon

yoga booty ballet baby on the way

Hi, Chelsea! I'm coming up on week 7, which is still pretty early! I think in about 6 or 7 more weeks, I'll get most of my energy back (I hope!). I also have a 5 year old son that I stay home with and he keeps me busy, too. I got the Yoga Booty Ballet: Baby on the Way, but I haven't felt motivated to try it yet. Have you (or anyone else reading this) tried it?

I haven't tried yoga booty ballet. I know they make a prenatal yoga dvd as well, which i hear is a total killer workout.

Have you done yoga before? I haven't really done it before. I did an hour or so with Tony Horton when i went to a Super Saturday Event, but other then that, not really. I did some pilates when i was younger, but nothing serious.

I just wanted to share with you a picture i got yesterday of our baby girl emoticon

I'm at 21 weeks today emoticon

Chelsea,

Sorry I haven't messaged back... I was sick last week and still feeling a bit under the weather. I haven't done a lot of yoga, just what they have on Power90.

What an awesome picture of your little girl!! How exciting!

Hi emoticon

I hope your feeling better emoticon I had some pretty bad food aversions from Day 1. Couple that with nausea. It wasn't fun. No throwing up though emoticon I hear i'm pretty lucky. I'm coming up on my 23 week, and let me tell you, I feel awesome! Lots of energy, I've been cooking dinner a lot more, and I know my husband appreciates it emoticon

We're in the process of moving, and all my workout dvd's are packed emoticon I've been itching to get back to turbo jam or some Chalean extreme. But i've been taking my puppy for walks..Which after a day of working on my feet seems somewhat impossible...

Keep your head up, hopefully you will feel better soon, once you get out of the first trimester. But then again, you've been pregnant before emoticon Some also say that each pregnancy is different...

I stopped drinking my shakeology. I wish i didn't, I haven't asked my doctor what she thinks about it. Are you still drinking your shakeology?

Sorry I'm a chatter box tonight emoticon

Talk to you soon!

Hi ladies
Ive been looking for other preggers on here there doesn't seem to be too many. this is the most recent post i could find. I am only 6 weeks along and same thing about 3 week ago hit a fatigue wall and haven't done anything much but sleep when i can. I was doing p90X and just got some guidelines from my doctor as to how i can still work out. I am hoping that my motivation comes back. But tonight i will be starting back and seeing how it goes. This is my 4th pregnancy all my other ones i was working in physically demanding jobs so i never had to work out to keep fit. About two years ago i took a job where i sit 12hrs a day and had to start working out just to not gain weight. I had lost 30lbs and am probably healthier than i have ever been. I want to keep as active as i can and have never felt this fatigue with any of my other kids until i was about 8 or 9 months along, so am kinda glad i am not the only one. It had me a bit worried. i have had horrible morning sickness also my doctor recommended a few protein shakes i could still use and nutrients shakes i can take to help out with that. im okay on liquids its the solids that seem to get my tummy rolling. The good thing though is any thing greasy or generally unhealthy makes me puke right away so this baby is making me eat healthy lol.Its been a tough week try to find what will stay down so its been annoying having to divert from my normal eating plan.(i'm very schedule oriented lol i stick to what works hate to mix it up too much)

Hi!

Yay another pregnant lady emoticon

I work on my feet eight hours a day most days, and other's about five. When I come home from work, I am exhausted. My feet hurt, my back hurts, I just want to sit down and put my feet up. I've been so tired i can't even do the hour of walking my doctor recommends...

Yesterday I cleaned the whole house, vacuumed, got the cob webs, dishes, bathroom, laundy, the whole nine yards. I totally killed it, and my husband was so proud of me because I haven't lifted a finger in awhile. lol. He said he thought he walked into someone else's house ;)

Oh boy was i paying for it last night at work, and this morning. OUCH.

I'm thinking of starting turbo jam again, and just taking it easy. I would rather do that then walk. Or I was thinking about getting the new Tai Cheng worktout program. But I don't have the money at the moment. LOL But not go to crazy because I only have 92 days left emoticon

And Yes i'm counting emoticon This is our first baby, and I am so excited, I know he is too, but i'm pretty sure i'm a little bit more ;)

How are you ladies doing?

Oh I remember all to well having to stand on my feet for my first pregnancy. My feet and ankles would swell so bad back would feel like it was breaking. The other two I had to wear steel toed boots and the support they gave me in my ankles and feet was awesome id be running around for 12 hr and never had an issue with my feet hurting or swelling. I've been on holidays this is my last week off so my motivation has been hit or miss but when i go back my partner will make me workout we do p90x on our break our company had bought us workout equipment He has asked for a copy of what my doctor gave me so i that i cant use the i'm pregnant card to get out of my work outs which i totally need right now or i would just sit on my butt and get lazy which i don't want. I'm like you i usually start my count down at about 24 weeks so i have a ways to go still. I still get excited even though this is my fourth child.

Hi megz
I think its true that if you stay fit and active you have a way easier time in labor and delivery ( well as easy as it can be it still isn't a pleasant ordeal) My hardest delivery was my first i was active but not as much as with my other two and and my recovery time i felt was easier and shorter with the other two than my first. The first was 8 hrs of labor only an hour and a half of hard labor, It took me over a year to lose the baby fat. The second was 4 hrs of labor half hour of hard labor, I lost most the weight in 4 months. The third was 2 hrs of labor half hour of hard labor, I gave up working out after he was born until he was about 2 wish i hadn't.
I am on a different brand of prenatals this time maybe that has something to do with my sickness and fatigue. Never thought about it till you mentioned it thanks maybe i'll get the kind i normally buy and see if that helps.

Hi Ladies!

How's everyone doing? i'm coming up on my 29th week emoticon YAY! I'm a little scared about tonights shift, just because i'm working a 2-1030, then coming home going to bed, and getting up to do a 9-530. I'm wondering how my body is going to like that. i'm on my feet a lot because i work in retail, my boss doesn't think i'm going to make it 2 more months, but we will see.

I had my 28 week appointment on the 20th. Sophie is head down, and is in the 50% range for weight, which they estimate to be at 2 and 1/2 lbs. I had an ultrasound as well, but they didn't get any good pictures of her face with the 4D.

Have you seen the movie preview for what to expect? that looks like a hilarious movie, and I can't wait to see it emoticon

I really feel bad that I haven't worked out. I feel like I let myself down. i'm not going to let it get to me. I should be walking, I have a treadmill, I have a dog. there are plenty of opportunities to walking, plenty of benefits, for me as well as the dog. I know it's just pure laziness. I need to get back into my good habits, and not let myself get further into this rut, like I have.

Thanks for listening to me emoticon

I hope you guys are doing good!

Hi

I worked right up to the day i gave birth with all my kids. Everyone said i wouldn't be able to but my doctor said as long as i was still feeling good i could and work couldn't say anything because i was doing my job just as well as if i wasn't pregnant. But he also left an offer open to write me a note to get the last two weeks off if i wanted to.
I hear ya on the laziness I've been hit and miss on my workouts too. I figured my partner would really kick my butt and motivate me but he's such a man, lol. He spends most of the time fusing over me and hardly gets in a good workout himself. It's driving me crazy, every two seconds are you breathing, how do you feel, let me check your heart rate, do you need a break, drink your water lol. i know he's only does it cause he cares so i'm trying to be patient with him. and if i haven't gotten a good sleep or look tired he refuses to work out with me and says it'll do me better to sit and rest. Right now i'm doing about 4 to 5 workouts a week.
This week i have only done one because i was working night and i had to work three extra nights i'm just way too tired to do it. But i was like that before i was pregnant if i have to do more than three nights in a row i get wiped out. Having three kids i only get three to four hrs of sleep when im on nights. And football season started for my son so that means even less sleep lol. I'm content doing what i can when i can for now.
Now that the weather is warming up here i think me and the kids will be outside doing lots of stuff. I'm eating healthy also so have only put on 3 lbs so far and am happy about that.
I'm 8 and half weeks now can't wait for my ultra sound it's not scheduled until i'm 19 weeks but am trying to convince my doctor to give me one sooner. usually i get my first one at 12 weeks but here they only do one so i'm hoping next week at my checkup hell humor me and book one sooner.
I'm hoping i get to hear the heartbeat next week also i never feel good telling people until i do. and am always worried until then.
I switched my prenatals and that helped a lot with my morning sickness and a little bit with the fatigue. I haven't thrown up in a whole week.
I am sooo moody this time around one minute crying the next pissed off then really happy. None of my other pregnancies were like this one then today one of the girls from my baby club said that's how she was with her girl and two others said the same. I am just so used to having boys and the father has two boys from previous it never even dawned on me id be having anything but a boy.lol. And to be honest i'm kinda hoping for another boy but as long as the baby is healthy that's all i really care about.
I've just been coming home from work and basically falling into bed haven't even turned my tv on for about a week. I'm so glad i have a few days off now maybe i can get in a good movie or two and spend some cuddle time on my couch with the boys.

I am so happy to see other pregnant moms on here. I'm 22 weeks along and I am definitely overweight. I was on bed rest for most of my 1st trimester. I'm not anymore but it has been so hard to get motivated to start exercising again but I definitely don't want to get out of control with my weight. Its been nice to see your guys posts!

Hi Happymama emoticon
I know the feeling, I am overweight as well, but I haven't been on bedrest. I have been having a horrible time workingout. I want to, I have tons of motivation and wanting to workout, I just don't get up off the couch and do it. I am going to buy Yoga Booty ballet baby on the way and do that until/after little Sophie comes.

Jackalac,

I've had about 4 ultrasounds so far. One at 9 weeks to determine if i actually am pregnant, and how far along I am. Then I had one everyother month or so, my next one isn't until the end of May, to see how she's growing. Tomorrow i'll be 30 weeks, and so far my pregnancy has been pretty awesome. Sorry to brag, but i haven't had any morning-noon- or night sickness, I've only been a little nausea, and i've had some achiness, back pain, and some vaginal discomfort. LOL but other than all that stuff, it's been pretty good.

Talk to you soon, Ladies!

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to say that I actually took my dog on a walk today, for a whole hour, and 1.6 miles. Proud of myself. I've been so lazy lately, and I haven't taken my dog on a walk in let's say a few months. That's how horrible I've been at walking my 8 month old lab. My husband walks her every morning before work, and I used to walk her all the time, and then I got tired, lazy.

I feel very accomplished, and I plan on keeping it up, as long as I can.

Talk to you all soon emoticon

Thats great every little bit helps my dog are old lap dogs. They hate going for walks theyll walk a block and just sit there looking at you like ok im done lets go home now.lol. Then i have to pick them up and carry them. I've let my workouts fall to the wayside this week. but i've been working the job i did a few years ago filling in for a few days and it is very physically demanding so i don't feel too bad for not doing my workouts. I dont know how i did it twice pregnant before i am so sore and tired it's just crazy. I guess i'm just not used to it anymore. But things that used to be easy just seem tough now and hate having to be so careful and taking so many precautions to make sure baby is ok. I am a little over 10 weeks now so have about two more weeks before i tell work and then after i do id imagine they won't be letting me in the plant too much after that which is very fine with me. I've come to like my little cozy office. emoticon I am very anxious to hear the babys heart beat i have a appointment on friday and the doc said we should be able to hear it. Once i hear that i think i'll feel a little bit better that everything is ok with the baby.

Hi Everyone,

Joining the group...I am pregnant too for the first time...They had told us we could not have a baby unless with IVF and here we are...It took me a while that all the tireness was our little piece of heaven emoticon ...I was doing P90X AND ZUMBA before we went on holidays and found out we were pregnant...WE just came back I am 10 weeks and did Zumba the last two days and thinking of adding some P90X...I thankfully have not been nauseus so I figure I could handle the workouts...Later on I think I will get the yoga CD from Beachbody.

Is anyone doing P90X? I think probably too much if the program is done normally but If I mix and match should be fine...

Jackalac, I know you said you workout until the last day of your last pregnancy were you doing heavier workouts or the yoga CD?

Thanks and looking forward to joining in.

Hi cinnamongirl
I am doing p90x. i was doing that before i was pregnant. i had to back down a bit on the intensity i put into it and really pay attention to my body if i am feeling to tired or weak or dizzy i did that once before pushed it to hard and i ended up in bed for the whole next day cause it ended up making me sick plus its not good for the baby.

For me when i am pregnant i just stay at the weight i was lifting before i was pregnant the whole way through i don't up it like i normally do ever few weeks. My doctor also told me that i can still do what i was doing but not to push myself and try to do more.

For p90x i have already subbed out the yoga i find tonys yoga very hard as far as all the balance poses. i was falling all over the place before i got pregnant and just didn't want to risk taking a tumble when im pregnant. i have a prenatal postnatal yoga video i do instead that focuses alot on relaxation and pelvic floor muscles and stuff that help common pregnancy pains like back aches or headaches. That one is a beaschbody one but im not sure if they still carry it i got it almost 15 yrs ago.

i do the cardiox instead of plyo now just because plyo sends my heart rate through the roof it always has.

and also ab ripper although im still fine doing it now. I have an ab prenatal video that shows you how to do most of those moves off of your back mostly using a ball because after the first trimester they recommend you don't lay on your back for extended period of time. it's supposed to reduce blood flow to the placenta by putting pressure on the artery that goes there.

Normally i will keep up as i did before until about the 8th or 9th month then i back it off and usually just go for walks and do the prenatal yoga and ab workouts. i find by then im too big and tired to keep it up. The prenatal ones are good for showing you how to position yourself with that big belly in the way lol.

This pregnancy the first 12 weeks has been filled with being sick and a crazy fatigue. this lasts week i have found i am starting to get my energy back and the morning sickness has for the most part gone away. so glad about that. So my workouts have been hit and miss i have been doing what i can when i feel i can do it. now that im feeling better i will start doing it everyday as i was before again.

I still have mood swings though but even those are starting to diminish. i honestly felt like a crazy woman and probably looked like one to people who don't know im pregnant.lol

I finally got to hear the baby's heartbeat last week i was so relieved to hear it i feel so much better now and have told everyone i am pregnant.

Chelsea:

How are you doing? you must be getting pretty close now.

Hi Ladies!

Sophie and I are doing fabulous. I just hit week 35 today. This is my first pregnancy, and it is going by very very fast, and so far I haven't had any complications. I did have a trace of protein in my urine, and my blood pressure was a little elevated, but they said it wasn't worrysome. Which is fabulous!

The doctors estimate her weight to be at 5 lbs 2 oz's so far, my husband is hoping for a 10 lb baby. LOL I seriously hope not.

I have a doctors appointment this friday, and i'm getting the strep b test. Woo Swabs, where the sun don't shine. lol. Should be an experience.

I'm a little nervous for labor. I'm going to try doing it naturally.

As far as working out, boy i should of kept up with what i was doing from the beginning. I plan on getting right back on track ASAP after recovery.

Hopefully this payday i will have some money to purchase the baby on the way yoga dvd, I really need to do something, and I know that will probably help me in the long run.

I have tried going for walks with the dog, but oh my goodness, the pelvic pain is excruciating.

Keep up the fabulous work ladies!

So I had to go to Labor and delivery on Friday after my Doctors appointment. My blood pressure was pretty high, and i supposedly had a trace amount of protein in my urine. Boy was I freaked out!

I was there for about an hour, and got strapped up to the monitor for Sophie's heart beat, she did fantastic the whole time. My blood pressure was perfect the whole time, and so was my urine. I had to do a 24 hr urine sample though, which was fun because i had to bring it to work with me, my boss was really disgusted. haha

Just got the test results back for that, and it's normal. I had an appointment yesterday, and got the strep b swab test done. That was a little uncomfortable, but nothing too bad. Blood pressure and urine was normal. Woo hoo.

Just hit week 36 today. 28 more days until her due date. I wonder if she'll be early, on time, or late. Who knows.

I ordered the yoga booty baby on the way, dvd last week. Should be here by Friday. Can't wait to start it.

Hope everyone is doing well.
