Hey everyone, before I start just want to forewarn that I am not bashing shakeology or BeachBody. I'm an avid p90x and insanity user, but I am disappointed with my experience using Shakeology. Since June 2010 I lost 50 lbs, this past summer I gained back about 20 lbs in baby weight(with a wife recovering from c-section and a newborn to take care of, thats what I call it) I have since been able to get myself back on track with eating/exercising but I just can't seem to lose that weight again, or any. Bought Shakeology end of January hoping it would push me past the plateau.

As you all know, 99% of reviews are positive so I jumped in. Unfortunately for me, while I don't get the nasty side effects some do, I also do not notice any of the intended effects. It doesn't keep me full better/longer than a regular breakfast, my energy levels did not increase. Basically, to me having shakeology for breakfast everyday is no different than when I was having regular meals. I want it to work and my wife asked if I was going to buy it again because I am down to the last few servings, I can't justify spending the money when I'm not getting the intended results of it.

That's all, just venting frustration about my plateau, lack of results from shakeology, and all around fizzling motivation.

For some, they don't notice the positive effects it has easily. Recently there was a customer on facebook and she said she was drinking shakeology religiously for about 8 months and then she thought it wasn't helping her much, didn't notice a difference and due to costs she stopped her Home Direct. But within a week she noticed she felt sluggish....after another week she still felt "lazy" and was finding it hard to get through the day, she also noticed a slight weight gain, so she made a shake the next day and BAM returned to her "normal" self and realized that shakeology actually WAS helping her and showing results, but they were so gradual in the beginning she didn't really notice them!

I have to agree with this...I too thought I wasn't getting much if any benefit and quit and boom! I got tired, sluggish, my hair went back to excessive shedding, my skin that had always been itchy, but wasn't while on Shakeology(I didn't realize at the time it wasn't itching anymore) started itching again, facial breakouts, etc...Been back on it 2-3 months now and all but my hair is drastically improved. My hair has stopped falling out(the joys of being a menopausal woman!), but I don't see the growth I'd hope to yet. Sure it's coming.

So, for some the results come slower and in smaller ways that really DO add up though over time. It's up to you to try another month, but I would and if at the end of the second month you don't feel it's worth it, quit and see if you feel any different then. I only say try one more month because for many, the positive benefits aren't obvious until close to the end of four weeks.

I still do get cravings from time to time, but I will usually have a second shake for the day when that happens and 90% or more of the time, that cures it. I also sometimes have a second one or half of one late afternoon if I feel I need a pick me up and it gives me the oomph I need to make it into the evening without caffeine.

You may also need to play around with what amount a day works best for you. Maybe you need a little more. For me, when I started, I actually did better on half a dose due to some of those unpleasant side effects. Sometimes that was enough and other times I'd have the second half later in the day. Maybe rather than increasing the dose(I know, it's expensive) try playing around with the time of day you have it.

Just some thoughts and ideas. I know it's not cheap and for that amount of cash you want to see some significant results, that's understandable. But you've already taken it for a month consistently, I'd give it one more and just see.

For what it's worth, I have not had any weight loss as a result other than a few pounds at the very beginning, but the rest of the benefits for me have been worth the cost. Oh, and I get sick WAY LESS often than my family members. Actually, through the last 4-5 illnesses, I've only caught one and it was super mild, like a mild cold. Everyone else had full blown flu like symptoms, no work, school, etc.. I really think it's from the shakes as I am the only one who drinks them regularly. My husband only takes them on weekends when he is home, just cause he likes how they taste..

Yeah I mentioned that to my wife when I was talking to her about, maybe I adjusted to it gradually with less notice and I'll realize how much of a difference it really made when I'm no longer having it daily. I guess I will find out in the next week or so, I scraped the last bit of powder from the bag this morning into a full serving.

i agree.. another month. have you tried blending it with a few strawberries and peanut butter milk/ice? makes it much thicker. i also love the whole bannana and peanut butter milk/ice. congrats on baby btw!! very exciting. another thing do you drink at least 8 glasses of water too? youll pee alot at first but that goes away and also helps with feeling fuller and more rejuvinated- hope all works out!!

Shakeology by itself is not a "magical" pill that burns weight off of you. It's just a supplement. A good one but not the cure for weight gain. More than likely it is the rest of your diet that is out of whack.

What is your daily caloric intake and your daily caloric burn?

I didn't think shakeology was doing anything for me until i realized today that i haven't been sick since summer time. I started drinking it every day in september, and i only used to drink it occasionally before that time. If you could ask any of my friends, i am ALWAYS sick...always. But not anymore! Even my boyfriend has been down with the flu and various colds a few times this winter and i've caught nothing. And i never stopped kissing him...too much info?
On top of that, I feel wide awake in the mornings now and don't even need coffee.

It took me 7 months to realize just what its been doing for me, so i say give it some timeemoticon

I don't always count calories but I can confidently say I stick to a range between 1900-2200. My burn depends on if I'm doing p90x or Insanity and was never really able to figure out an exact # for either, obviously burning more with the Insanity cardio.
I never expected it to be a magic pill, as I mentioned I lost 50 lbs with no supplements so my hope was that after gaining almost half of that back and not being able to shake it that the shakeology would kick me off the plateau.
