Is Brazil Butt Lift for Skinny Girls?

A lot of people ask me if Brazil Butt Lift is the right program for them. What's great about Brazil Butt Lift is that it's good for people of all shapes and sizes, you just have to find out how the program is going to work for you.

The secret is my proven TriAngle Training method, which works all three major muscles of the bum bum from multiple angles to shape, lift, and firm your butt and thighs.

I talked about this during a recent video chat on Team Beachbody. Why don’t you plan to attend my upcoming video chats, and bring your questions for me to answer? Check out the schedule of upcoming chats, and I’ll look forward to hearing from you.

Now I want to know: What do you think is the most effective Brazil Butt Lift workout for your body type? Tell me, by leaving your comments below.

I cannot answer the question “Is Brazil Butt Lift for Skinny Girls?” but I thought I would chime in anyway. I am finishing up my second week of Brazil Butt Lift……

On December 1, 2011, I started my journey to lose 109 pounds, my starting weight was 277 pounds. I worked on my eating habits first, eating 90% fresh "clean" food, and consistently taking supplements. At the end of December I began doing the T-Tapp MORE workout, this really helped in rehabilitating my knees. In February, I happened upon an infomercial on Brazil Butt Lift. I checked out the reviews on Beachbody and watched some You Tube clips. I decided to give it a try....

On February 20, 2012, I started the Brazil Butt Lift “The Too Big Solution” at 244 pounds. I LOVE this workout. My husband noticed the change in my “bum bum” and stomach after the first week and I could not believe my jeans were noticeably looser. Despite having already lost 33 pounds before starting BBL, no one commented about my weight loss. Guess what? This week, my second week of BBL, all of the sudden people are approaching me saying how they can tell I have lost weight!

It is certainly challenging for me. Cardio Axe kills me, I have NO dance skills, but each time I am getting a bit better with the moves (turns!). Leandro, you really motivate me throughout the workouts! I actually came on the BeachBody Boards today to see if there was another BeachBody workout I should do until I lost another 50 pounds and then return to BBL after. I was encouraged to find you on the boards Leandro. I would like to ask, “Is Brazil Butt Lift for Obese Girls?” Should I continue with BBL now or switch to Power 90 or Slim in 6 for now and then come back to BBL when I am closer to my goal weight?

butt legs workout routine weights muscles variations fat cells problem areas goal weight cardio workouts bum bum hybrid curves angles stretch bands skinny girls white girl

Thankful4mylife,
I highly recommend that you keep going with BBL. It is the BEST program for women in my personal opinion. Only Leandro targets the female problem areas with the much needed focus that is needed for stubborn fat cells.
If you don't like Cardio Axe you can replace it with walking, running or any other kind of cardio.
After 4 cycles of BBL (including the upgrade workouts Rio Extreme, etc.) I am now doing a BBL/P90X2 hybrid now. BBL will always be a staple in my workout routine because it gives you so many options for variations (different weights, stretch bands, angles).
So if you think you need more cardio simply add something else but please keep doing BBL. The muscles you build with BBL will burn more fat during your cardio workouts.

Now, in response to Leandro:
I absolutely believe that BBL is for skinny girls as well. They can sculpt a nice round butt consisting of muscles with your program. The key is less cardio for them and more use of the Sculpt, High and Tight, and Bum Bum workouts. Those 3 are major butt-builders. Of course, you already know that.

So many people have told me that I have a very nice/hot bum bum for a white girl since I started doing BBL 8 months ago. I can honestly say that I love my curves now, even though I have not reached my goal weight yet. Muscles weigh more than fat and thanks to BBL my legs and butt are made of steel now.

THANK YOU, LEANDRO!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!!! <3

PS: For my body type the combination schedule works best. My favorite workout is Sculpt! :-)

Coach Astrid, thank you so much for your response! I believe my body is responding really well to BBL and I will be following your advice and not switch programs now. I love the Sculpt workout too! I will continue working on Cardio Axe, I like much of it, but struggle with the "wheel" especially. I keep working even if I am not doing it very well, at least I am still moving and hitting Play! emoticon I have scheduled my next two weeks workouts into WOWY, following the 'too big" schedule. I am not sure what to do after the four weeks though, since I will still have a great deal of weight to lose. Thanks!

resistance bands weight training variations bbl ankle weights perfect balance
3/4/12 6:53 AM as a reply to JanetDenny.
Thankful4mylife,
There are many different ways to add variations to BBL so you can continue using the program for pretty much ever. ;-) For example, you can use heavier weights, stronger resistance bands and heavier ankle weights. You can also start using a different schedule. I highly recommend the "combination schedule." It is awesome in creating a perfect balance of weight training and cardio.

The most important thing is to keep changing it up. And with BBL that is so easy to do!

You can also add more cardio. Kudos to you for giving your best with Cardio Axe. I am not much of a dancer either, so this workout is quite challenging for me. I am very proud of you for hanging in there. ;-)

Thank you, CoachAstrid and Thankful4MyLife! I just restarted with BBL; I am about a week in. The first time I did BBL I only did it for ~35 days. This time, I am committed to a much longer streak, probably somewhere close to what CoachAstrid has done: 8 months or more. I am happy to hear that it continues to be effective after the initial 30 or so days.

Thanks again for your opinions, ladies! emoticon

To answer my favorite, Leandro: the best workouts for my body type (tall and "big-boned") are Bum Bum and Sculpt....although all of the workouts do my body good!!! Thank you, Leandro!!!

To answer your question, the most effective BBL workout in the series is all of them. Each workout serves a specific purpose and complement each other and none of them would be effective without the other. BTW, thank you Leandro; I'm on week 6 and lost 15 lbs. and 3 inches off of my waist so far. I already weigh less than when I did pre-pregnancy. Hope you're doing a new series soon as I would be one of your first customers lol.

I'm not sure which workouts are the best for my body type but I love to do bum bum and high and tight... the burn feels so good when I do those!

While I like doing those two both I'm not really sure which ones are the best for my body type. I have kind of a flat and wide butt. Its not very plum but my upper hips (not lower like a pear, more like a heart) are a big problem spot for me. Which do you think is best for targeting that area?

This is my problem. I have a very very flat butt, my legs run straight up into my lower back or I think of it as my rear love handles. I was watching a program one day and they refered to this persons butt as not having a shelf at the top. This is me, my back runs straight down into butt. Tomorrow will be day 6 of week 1. I have been very sore and love that painfully good feeling, but, I'm not seeing anything yet. Should I do anything more? I am doing Lift and Shape. I'm hoping next week I can see a little difference.

I enjoyed reading all the posts and was wondering how everyone is doing now? I just completed 30 days of BBL and loved it! I was very surprised at what an intense workout it is - afterall, I'm a P90X, Turbofire and Insanity grad, how hard could it be? LOL!!! You know what I'm talking about!! My daughter and I did it together and we definitely got a little teary-eyed during some of the workouts!!

I do incorporate other workouts into my program - I like more cardio so I might add in some running or some TurboFire or something like that. But I think if you are still in the beginning or even intermediate stage of your fitness journey, BBL on its own will be quite effective.

I have the fortune to go to Atlantis on the Beachbody coach trip last week and got to workout with Leandro, Live, on the beach!!! Many men joined the workouts - never having done BBL before - and I can tell you, they were surprised!

So, I always tell people not to be fooled by the cute commercials or fluffy name - BBL is a REAL workout with REAL results. And remember, your diet is going to be 80% of your success with losing lbs!!! Your BBL will tone and tighten, but you need to shed the fat in order to see those beautiful muscles!!!

Leandro announced last week in Atlantis that he is launching a new BBL program!!! We got to preview some of the moves!!! Very exciting! I think he said they will be available next month!
