Low-carb on Insanity?
insanity carbs meal plan south beach diet low carb
3/5/12 8:14 PM
Hey guys! I'm here posting again, hehe! Anyway, as you've read in previous posts, I started Insanity two weeks ago but was unable to start the diet as well. Now I'm starting week 3 with the meal plan; however, I think there are too many carbs! In the past, when I've dieted the South Beach diet really seemed to work for me. What do you think it would happen if I cut carbs from the meal plan (but stayed within the calorie range)? Would I lose weight faster? I REALLY need to lose 20 pounds for April!

If you cut the carbs out of the Insanity meal plan you will run out of energy and be tired real fast. Carbs fuel your energy level for an intense cardio workout. If you are going to cut I would cut a little bit each day and judge your energy level. The minute you feel like you have no energy go back to the previous day. It is all about balance. emoticon

Hey Girl! I'm also doing insanity. I don't eat bread so I tend to eat low carb on a regular basis. I just aim to grab my carbs from fruits, veggies, and pasta, which are all considered good carbs. Hope this helps

I'm going to try to cut back on bread and get my carbs from fruit, veggies, brown rice and oatmeal only!

That will help shred the fat fast. It just isn't ideal to do for a H.I.T.

It's like putting unleaded in a super-unleaded car. It will run....just won't perform well.

Keep a pillow close by as I'm sure you'll be passing out from lack of carbs lol

I kid....if your going to go this route at least don't be slacking on the calories or your oatmeal. That would be the 'smart' approach to taking out most your starchy carbs.

Good luck!

I did ZERO carbs ZERO sugar for the whole first month. I was fine. If I didn't feel motivated, I took a sugar free red bull shot right before I'd start the DVD.

I also lost 18 lbs. emoticon

But now that I am on month 2, I have to work my carbs back in to keep my energy and fat burning going!

If you want MY diet plan, which is VERY VERY VERY strict, just message me and I can email you a copy.

Nicole, I'd love a copy of your diet plan!! emoticon please send it to me!!!

It's not hard people. Simply eat whatever healthy food you want, just no carbs.

This leaves your meats, fats, and green leafy vegetables.

Good luck on burning all the muscle with this diet and training. You'll look malnurished, small, and thin.....but not in a good way. HEY...at least you'll see the number on the scale go down right? We all know exercising should be geared toward what you see on the scale rather then what you see in the mirror.

If anyone says you don't look good, just step on the scale and let them take a look at that tiny little number you worked down too. That ought'a shut em up. ;)

I suspect some of these ppl were not already slim? Guessing based on 18lb weight loss. I weigh over 200lbs so have a looooooooong way to go before looking anywhere near malnourished!

If your over 200lbs, this nutrition approach is too radical and very un-necessary. You should loose weight very easy being over 200lbs with a simple caloric deficit and regular exercise.

After your body used carbs as energy it goes to get energy from fats. Low Carb is just taking out step one and it doesnt make you as weak as people are making it out to be. There are different forms of energy. Some of us prefer to use the fat as the main source
