Hey everyone! i just ordered P90X and doing my research now before i get it. I'm skinny 5'10 and 115 pounds. Any tips or advice on gaining weight and muscle?? And im not very good at navigating this site yet so thanks in advance.

Today is day 2.5 for me and I just decided to take some pics and join the forum. I say it is day 2.5 because I've completed the first two days but haven't done today's workout yet. I'm looking for help in gaining size and strength and adapting the meal plan to make it work for me. I'm 5'8/5'9 and 150. I've attached some starting pics once I get them re-sized.

For supplements I'm taking a GNC mens vitamin pack and a protein powder.

Hello team,

I havent been here for more than a week. I know, my bad! Things has been super crazy lately on my end since people keep sending me private emails... and Im doing this full time!

Not going to lie, I miss you guys ;P

So, I finished the Strength portion of X2 and jumped into PAP right away without taking any recovery week.... bad mistake! 8 weeks of hardcore intense workout finally caught on me and I was overtrained. Instead of taking a break, I went to the beach workout and had a great workout session with Tony Horton on a nice sunny 80 degrees weather in Santa Monica.

Of course, the next day, I got the flu. I took Nyquil and slept like a baby for 2 days. Feeling okay today but still taking it easy.

Activity has been somewhat low with my absence. Where is my padawan rotorbound??!?!??!

akukon Where's your Day 30 progress pic? How's the Day 30 result like?

Markdr7 What kind of weights do u have? U need to have good sets of weights, around 10-50 lbs. PowerBlock is a great dumbbells to have - I have one myself. You can do Phase 1 Level 1 for 2 weeks, and then move on to Phase 2 diet by Week 3, and keep it around 2200 cal or so.


aowpsycho Well look at you Mr Model.... great Day 30 progress. I saw your FB photo - whats with the moustache? Btw, u think u can come over to Santa Monica this Sunday? Should have come last Sunday as you could have met Tony Horton!

Did you add 5x5 bench press into your routine?

The pictures didn't come out so great, so no pictures from me this time. emoticon Only couple of weeks more until phase 2 is done though, so I'll try get some better ones then.

The results have been good though, not a lot of changes visible in the pics but I feel a lot stronger and the reps and the weights have been going up steadily.

OK here are my starting pics. I kinda like the one with the flash, it makes me look like I have better abs.

Also I'm trying to follow the portion approach but I'm having difficulty. I'm not sure where sometimes of what box to check off. If I have a protein shake is that a shake (snack) or protein? If I mix it with skim milk does that take up my dairy? Also at work I have been eating these lean cusine steamer bags [Edited by Touseef]they're only like 300 calories. With the portion approach I check off carbs, protein, and veggie. How does this sound?

I finished week one and today is the start of week 2. I'm still trying to dial in my diet. I weighed myself this morning and I lost 5lbs. Should I be worried? Is that too much for someone my size?

My weight loss is was not as much as I first thought. I guess it was just the time of day and the fact that I had less clothes on than when I weighed myself the first time. At the end of the day I was up to 148.

I'm still having a tough time meeting my daily calories though.

Hey guys, sorry I had to take a quick little two week hiatus. Some things went down and kept me from getting on here. It killed me everyday that I was missing them too. If I was awake. didnt get much sleep in last two weeks either.


Anyway- Ima just pick up like I never postponed and then extend it out. So tonight is plyo and I am starting now.

Yo Nickohh I just logged on here and saw your post. Guess I'm too late to meet you cats on Sunday lol. Sounds like it would be sick, although you guys do some cray acrobatical things. Always down to try it though.

The stache, I did it as a joke and then when everybody made fun of me I decided to keep it for shits n gigs. I have a studio in my house cause I shoot photography so that explains my wacky default pic on FB.

Just finished Plyo and I gotta say it is getting easy, I used to hate Tuesdays but not so bad anymore. I have not yet incorporated the 5x5 yet cause I was in SD all week for work, so I only had time to do my P90x. I think I'm going to eliminate kenpo and replace it with yoga and then do 5x5 on my usual yoga day. Doing Vegas in April so gotta be ready for the pool parties.

Paul34 You shouldnt worry or focus too much on the exact ratios. I know that some guys are just anal about it, but that's not the lifestyle that you want. You look great! You're def more than ready to focus 100% on weight gaining.

You do realize that LeanCuisine means that it's for 'lean'? Yes? It's not the most ideal food for someone like you, unless you plan on eating 2 servings of it emoticon You should still stick with healthy food, but at more servings.

Are you taking the P90X Recovery Drink at least? Whats the heaviest set of dumbbells do you have?

For the last couple of days I've been just focusing on eating protein and eating well and I've found my ratios are very close to the 50/30/20. Are you suggesting that I totally ignore the 50/30/20? Are you suggesting that I totally ignore the 50/30/20? I liked the lean cuisine because it has a good amount of protein and low fat.

For a recovery drink I'm drinking Critical Aminos xt (from vitamin shoppe) right after a work out and then I drink a protein shake about 30 mins later. I have Gold Standard whey right now.

For dumbbells I have up to 30 right now. I know that I'm going to have to get a couple more as I get more adjusted to the workout.
