Finished my fit test today, got pictures, and all my measurements! I'm ready to start tomorrow, how about all of you???

I'm glad I found this thread. I didn't want to join one of those that have been going on for like 3-6 months and already have hundred of responses. It will be nice to have a group that's all on the same track for support and help.
I completed 9 weeks of p90X last year(actually 10 weeks but only gave 40-60% the first week for a warm up and didn't count it), but wasn't able to finish the whole program unfortunately. I was pretty P.O'd! It stinks to work that hard for something just to have it taken away from you. My last job changed my work shift all around and was only getting 3-6 hours of sleep and just became too much. I had great gains and improvements though. I fell back into the fast food, eating horribly, and no exercise habit again. I'm actually now in worse shape than when I started P90X last year.

I'm ready now! Threw out all the junk food, and stocked up on good food.
The first three weeks were the hardest for me! After that it came habitual as I knew what to expect. I think the hardest part for me what just not knowing what to expect and when that thing was finally going to end. Be ready for ab ripper X at the end of every other workout, and Yoga Belly on day 4 (abs 3 days in a row), but no abs for 2 days after that!
If I could give advice to the first timers, that I wish I would have had the first time I did P90X, or people who aren't currently on a workout program, it would be as follows.
-Print out the workout sheets and write down how many moves and what weight you used. it really helps to track your progress and no guessing on weight because you'll know what you did the week before.
-Take it easy the first week, don't go all out 100% as you might sustain an injury and you'll likely bo so sore and hurting you may not want to continue or may want take extended days off. It's easy to overdo it and keep pushing, especially for a guy and their pride. The workouts that leave me the sorest are biceps, traps, and legs. The first week, I only went about 40%-60% and held back a lot. It still kicked my butt, was still VERY sore, but I didn't overdo it and got after it big time week 2 and on.
-Preview the workouts at least a day in advance if you can. This will help you know what to expect and for me knowing it is half the battle with no surprises. I didn't do this the first time (I wish I had) and it was killing me to see the Ab ripper X at the end of days 1,3, and 5 with Yoga belly on day 4 (abs 3 days in a row).
-Take your recovery drinks after your high intensity workouts (all except yoga and stretch)
P90X has theirs, I currently just by Accelerade from High health. It is a 4:1 carbs to protein. I used to just mix powdered Gatorade and Protein to acheive the 4:1 ratio.
-Do Yoga X or at least give it your best shot for 3 or 4 weeks. I'm not a yoga guy at all but it seems to go nicely with the program and you feel great and relaxed afterwards. I hear people say they don't like it, it is tough! Well I don't like legs and I hate Plyo and core synegistics, but I suck it up and get and great workout.
-Day 7 is X stretch or a rest day. Do the stretch if you can. It seems to really help and are very loose and relaxed afterwards.
-Stick with eating lean and clean. Just because you workout doesn't mean you'll get the results you want if you’re eating bad, too many calories, carbs, or fat. I hear a lot of people say they'll just workout and get into shape. Well if you don't take in the calories then you don't have to burn them, it's that simple.
-Everybody's body type and metabolisms' are different. Some may make much faster gains than others and get ripped while others may just get kind of toned. Don’t be discouraged, evaluate your body type and expect the results accordingly. Just because you don't really see results in week 2,3 or even 4 don't get discouraged. I didn't really see results until about week 4 or 5. After that the results seemed to come quicker as my metabolism sped up. I am cursed with a VERY slow metabolism and love to eat, not a good combo.
-Just push play every day! When I am done with a workout, I immediately take that DVD out and put in the next days. Just one less excuse to have, just walk in the door after (or before) work, change into your workout clothes, power up and press play. Once you hit play it's that easy and it's on!
Good luck to all, and I am glad we have a nice P90X group all starting at the same time!
