3 Things You Need to Do to Lose That Stubborn Belly Fat

In one of my recent TeamBeachbody live video chats, one of the TeamBeachbody members asked me for advice on how to lose that stubborn belly fat. Believe it or not, the tummy is the easiest part of your body to slim down! All you need to do is three things and the belly fat will go away within 1-3 months.

You have to do these three things together, and you have to be serious about it:
  1. Fix your diet! At least 70% of the results you will see in your stomach is your diet. Watch my video below for info on what you need to eat, and what you need to cut out of your diet in order to lose your belly fat.
  2. Do at least 30 minutes of cardio. It's going to burn that layer of fat around the waistline.
  3. Do your abdominal work - whether you're doing crunches or squats, you have to work your core. My "Tummy Tuck" video has a lot of core and functional training that will help you stabilize your body.

What things do I need to take out of my diet bc I've been doing bbl for a bit and not loosing belly fat please help the clip isn't working

I encourage you to get a copy of "Bring It" by Tony Horton. In it, there is a 30 day 'cleanse'. Basically, for 30 days it encourages you to cut out gluten, dairy, sugar, caffeine, alcohol and meat... Sounds like fun, right? I know, it sounds like torture, but the results are amazing. I was having trouble with a few stubborn areas and man did this knock them out!!!

I have your Brazilian Butt Lift program...it is very intense! In doing your Tummy Tuck, could I do it every night before I go to bed separate from what I do on a daily basis? Please respond ASAP...don't want to over work myself

This sounds amazing I want to check this out. I am already unable to have gluten which is why I love the shakeology so much. 30 days of cutting out all of this does seem difficult, but with anything worth it you normally have to work for it. emoticon As a coach I haven't heard of this.. Tony is great though so I'm sure this is amazing.

Yeah I agree!! I have been very strict on my diet, eating the good fats.. protein lean and veges and fruit and drinking water and I can't seem to get rid of the fat around my belly too. I alternate between ChaLean Extreme and BBL with ABS 3 times a week.. So help!!!!!!!!!

Thanks insanebody! It is an awesome book and I would encourage anyone to read it, whether you are doing P90X, Insanity, BBL or any other awesome Beachbody Program!

You should NOT work your abs every night before bed. Treat them just as you would any other muscle....you need to give them rest between workouts for recovery. Recovery is where PROGRESS is made. I do an ab workout usually 2 days a week, but you could do 3 days a week and still be in a good place emoticon

Hey there, what are some examples of foods you can eat during the cleanse. Not worried about the weight just worried about the cleanse, I'm trying to stop drinking soft drinks and this sounds about good to help me afterwards

Well, basically it recommends you stop consuming gluten products, caffeine, alcohol, sugar, dairy and meat.

I swapped all whole wheat products, etc for gluten free options. Rice noodles, pasta, gluten free waffles, etc.

Sugar and caff where not a big problem, as I had basically phased those out already. I use Agave Nector instead of sugar.

I substituted dairy for soy or almond milk. At first, that was a change, but now I am hooked.

As far as meat, I did not fully cut that out, but went 95% meatless. I still eat sashimi and occassionally fish and gluten free deli meat. For protien I substituted tofu, beans, gluten free oats, egg whites, etc.

My basic diet stuck with the P90X & P90X-2 meals guide, using the gluten free/vegan options.

In 30 days I dropped about 8 lbs all from lower back, abs...

I actually don't eat any meat but chicken right now and alternate it with salmon ocassionally. Also have a turkey burger as a snack in the afternoon w/ soy nuts.

also, the only dairy I have is in the morning.

Fat free yogurt (8 0z)
Skim Milk (8 oz) mixed with protein powder.

Should I eliminate that as well?

So far my weight loss has been great! Lost over 10 pounds in 3 weeks. But I'm getting worried I might get to skinny and not enough definition so not sure if I should be amping up anything.

Just finished phase 1 of P90X yesterday.

The area I'm having some trouble eliminating are the love handles towards my back. But I have a feeling they will follow suit.

You can work your abs every day if you want to, if you're doing body weight bearing exercises. Do not lift weights on the same muscle group on consecutive days - that is true. But you can do crunches, sit ups, dips, pushups etc every day!
