I finished the first half of my last week of phase three-- PAP upper and lower done. It is yoga day tomorrow.

Something to look forward to. I wish I had a salad with me for lunch. I need to recover from last night's reception at Capital City Brewery.

Woop! Woop! A new board! How many does this make...5? 6? I'm losing track!

Looking forward to another thread with both old friends and new folks. I'm Liz and I completed my first round of X from July - October 2010. Since then I've done more X, X+, Insanity and started X2. Turned into a bit of a gym rat the past few months and have been focusing on elliptical cardio and yoga (my first love). Planning out my spring/summer workout now, which will undoubtedly combine a little of everything. The next two months are a bit crazy because of soccer season, which has us at the soccer park three nights per week. So getting those workouts in is challenging. We're also spending out spring break next week doing a 3-day Shakeology cleanse followed by a transition to a paleo diet. I've just heard too many people swear by paleo at this point to not give it a try.

Looking forward to keeping track of my old buds and making new friends!

Liz

Hi everybody! I'm Woody.
I completed 58 weeks of P90X classic and had good results. Lost 50lbs, lowered my blood pressure, cholesterol and resting heart rate. When I was partially thru round 5 of X1 classic, X2 arrived at the door. Now I have finished 1 cycle of X2 and now I'm my second week of cycle number 2 (week 2 of phase one).
Yesterday was a rest day so did some foam rolling.
Today total body and abX2.
Hopefully Lou can join us soon!
Welcome to all old and new people.

Hi y'all!

I'm Geoff....I'm a Brit, aged 41, a veggie and, as of today I have done a whole year with various BB products and things.

Let's see, I've done a round of "Insanity", week off, a second round of "Insanity", then "Asylum", then the "Asylum/Insanity" hybrid, then "P90X" and currently on Wk 4 of my third round of "Insanity"! Gains and losses? Lots of inches gained - a couple on my chest, shoulders and arms - and a drop of body fat percentage from about 17% to 8% and a gain of a whole stone in weight!

All to look good for the summer, right?

Geoff xx

Great to see everybody here... we are off to a great start already!

It is nice to be at the beginning. It is going to be a great round-- for me its X2 again and add in some other resistance DVDs, too.

Im Annette. I started my Beachbody journey last June with Turbofire and then completed Slim in 6. I am now doing a hybrid of all my favorite workouts, including those two programs, some of the easier p90x workouts, Rockin Body and a walking program. I have only lost about 20 pounds since June, most of it over the summer when I was not teaching every day. When I am working I find it so much harder to plan meals, drink water, make shakeology and give my workouts the intensity I should. With another summer approaching, I want to really ramp up my game. Ill be 55 in July and would like to be able to say that I am more fit at 55 than I was at 45. I certainly am stronger, but I still do lots of modifying and need to be more attentive to my nutrition because I dont burn what others do with all the workout modifications.

My goal is to really commit to myself for April, May and June in an attempt to prepare myself for p90x this summer while Im off for 10 weeks. I had a double knee replacement the summer before my Beachbody journey began and still feel "handicapped" by mobility issues and other joint pain. It is time to take myself to another level and succeed in a way that Ive never succeeded before. Im glad to have others with similar goals and try to give as much support on these message boards as I get.

My goal is not to have a beautiful beach body by summer, but to have an ACTIVE summer without being burdened by extra weight, joint weakness and self-doubt. I know I can do this, but I just have to accept that it may take me longer than other people. Thanks for inviting me to this new message board and allowing me to keep myself accountable to a group of like-minded people with similar goals.

Wow, we are already off and running! Way to go Demos, nice touch keeping Lou in. Monday was the most intense plyo for me followed on Tuesday by PAPU which so far was the best one for me too. Wednesday I took off because of a two fold reason. I took my Lt. exam and more importantly my right knee is pretty smoked. Feels like when I tore my left one up. I am going to focus the rest of the week on foam rolling, R&R, and taking the pup for an easy hike. I have been icing and elevating and trying to get the swelling down. This morning it feels "better" but I'm going to be smart and let it rest. Next week is my final week of X2 and I want to leave it all out on the floor. emoticon

To our new friends that decide to join us, you could not have found a better group to be with. We have all been together for quite sometime and I can say that these guys have been awesome. We all help each other at some point or another. Glad you guys are aboard.

Annless, you are already an inspiration. Double knee replacement and you are going to BRING IT? That is truly the definition of "doing your best and forgetting the rest", and that's awesome!

Annette, nice to see another teacher here! I started my first round of X in the summer as well for the same reason. By the time the new school year started I was already committed to the daily workouts, so working it in either before or after work wasn't quite as hard.

Geoff, I haven't been brave enough to try Asylum yet, but I love Insanity!

FitFF, how long before you receive the Lt exam results? Fingers crossed!

Son's first soccer game (ever!) tonight. Should be fun.

Hey everyone, I'll give a quick rundown of what I'm doing for this new thread. I started a little over a year ago, Feb 10th 2010 was my day 1. I have completed multiple rounds of the X, Insanity, X+, and some one on one videos. I started at 205lbs and dropped all the way down to 158lbs at one point. I was trying to get a 6 pack but came to the realization in order to do that I would need to get to around 145-150. Well at 6 foot I may have got a 6 pack but I would have looked like a bean pole, and that is not a look I wanted.

I have now switched up to a strength/hypertrophy routine in order to bulk up, I've seen modification to P90X for bulking but I would rather do a routine specifically designed for it. Plus I got a great deal on a power rack off of craigslist, so I wanted to play with my new toy. Right now I am up to 177lbs. For now my goal is to get to at least 190 and I'll evaluate from there if I should do a cut or continue bulking a little more.

The main workouts I do are full body and done 3 times a week with a heavy, medium, and light days. They are done in 5 week cycles with increased reps each week. Today was my heavy day for week 4 and I am drained from my workout.

Welcome everyone and jump in and join this awesome group, lots of diversity and experience here. We may have people doing different programs but we all have the common goal of staying in shape.

Hey whats up everyone. I'm Sean. I bought p90x back in 2008 when I turned 21 trying to get ripped, at the time I was just skinny and starting to get a beer belly weighting around 140 pounds - I had no muscle at all really. Since then I've done multiple rounds of p90x, a round of p90x+, a few rounds of different hybrids that I've made with some 1-on-1 dvds, and I just recently completed my first round of P90X2 last week(12 weeks - skipped that last to start gym this week). I've had 2 legit rounds were I hardly missed any workouts, didn't drink any alcohol and ate about 95% perfect and those have lead to the best results.

I've had multiple injuries including neck, rotator cuff and lower back problems that I've over come. I took about a month and a half off working out and eating healthy before I started X2 because of my neck leading to some weight gain. I started p90x2 at 158 pounds and 12% body fat. This morning I weighed 152 and last week when I had my body fat measured I was at 9.50%.

I started working out this week at the gym with a personal trainer who is training me for free...long story. My main, #1 goal, which has been my goal since the end of last summer is to have a legit 6-pack this summer. I'm very close. I want to reduce my body fat 2-3% more and I should be good.

My schedule so far this week has been this:

Monday: Chest, abs +1mile run
Tuesday: Back and forearms
Wednesday: Shoulders, abs, +1.5 mile run

Not gonna lie...I've been insanely sore - feels like the first week of p90x all over again. It's nice to be lifting again - phase 3 of X2 and the PAP workouts just aren't for me. I think they are cool and a great concept, but I'm not training for anything so I don't need athletic performance...i just want to look good and be healthy ;)

Welcome to all the new people and HI again those of you I've been working out with for some time now!

Yoga2 this morning so I feel great!! I'm considering doing another week of Phase II...but I need to take the time to watch the PAP vidoes first to see what they are like before I make that decision. Is Phase III more of a cardio type workout or is it something totally new?

THANKS!!

Yoga today, but I am still sore from Tuesday. I want my legs to be fresh for a bike ride this weekend-- so I might postpone my last PAP lower.

Have a great weekend-- oops, its only Thursday.

X2 yoga completed, that routine has really grown on me.

Cadixon - PAP is something totally new so that each round contains: 1 Strength / Balance hybrid move, 1 Plyometric move, 1 Explosive Jumping move, and a Stabilization (or Isolation) move. It definately made me sweat.

Legs done at das gym yesterday.

4 sets of squats
4 sets of leg press
3 sets of leg extensions
3 sets of leg curls
2 sets of calves (15 in, 15 parallel, 15 out)

I can barely walk today. I haven't done any weighted leg work in about 5 months and I didn't start out light...I hope it doesn't get worse by tomorrow because I'll be playing golf for my 2nd time ever. Really fun sport though, I plan to get into it more, last weekend was my first time playing. Woody, too bad you're no where near me to met up and give me some tips haha. Hopefully some lessons will pop on on groupon soon emoticon

Tomorrow would be my official day 90 of p90x2 if I did it this week...I'm still going to take picture and I'm getting my body fat measured again today. I'll post some pics sometime this weekend.

Balance and power completed.
Scapp:

An engineer, doctor, and pastor golfing
A pastor, a doctor and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers.

Engineer: What's with these guys? We must have been waiting for 15 minutes!

Doctor: I don't know, but I've never seen such ineptitude!

Pastor: Hey, here comes the greens keeper. Let's have a word with him. [dramatic pause] Hi George. Say, what's with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?

George: Oh, yes, that's a group of blind fire fighters. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime.

The group was silent for a moment.

Pastor: That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight.

Doctor: Good idea. And I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist buddy and see if there's anything he can do for them.

Engineer: Why can't these guys play at night?

Great, Woody... dark humor.

Big day at work today so I woke up early for my last PAP upper. I skipped the warm up, but finished the 2 complexes. One more workout until I go back to the start of x2.

Work ended early.. I am exhausted... but now starts a week of spring break!

Spring break here too! Woohoo! The city is all spruced up as the throngs begin to arrive for the Masters golf tournament that begins on Monday. Looking forward to getting lots of workouts in over the next ten days. I'm on day three of no breads, grains, & legumes and almost no dairy (just some skim milk in my coffee). Thank goodness for protein powder and fruit because I had only recently trained myself to eat a bowl of oatmeal with dried fruit and nuts for breakfast (I am so not a breakfast person), and now oats are out. Yesterday I didn't plan well and ended up not getting any protein for the first half of the day. I was exhausted by the time I got home from work. So this morning I made a protein shake (just a splash of almond milk), and I was good to go all day.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Thanks for the dash of humor, Woody. emoticon

Liz-welcolme to the Paleo lifestyle, believe me you will feel better. One thing have done in the mornings is to chop up almonds in the food processor add some honey, cinammon, a dash of vanilla and almond milk and pop it in the micro wave for a warm breakfast. Then add some berries, apples etc for some good healthy carbs.

To all the new people joining, My name is John and I am 42 years old have have been doing a variety of Beachbody workouts for about 3 years now, most mutible rounds of P90x, some insanity workouts and 3/4's of X2.. In that time frame I have gone from a high of 235lbs to a low of 179, currently I am at 185 after the holidays set me back and i gained weight. I began X2 @ 193 and lost 8lbs since Jan 1.

I am an avid cylcists once again and my short term goal is to to get ready for a 100mile Gran Fondo on May 20. I also have been eating mostly a Primal/Paleo diet since Feb of last year. One of the main reasons behind that is my wife has celiac disease and after researching I can see the science behind it.

My workout "program" will be a mix of classic X, X2, spin classes, outdoor/indoor rides and leg routines at the Gym.
