RE: Should I be concerned?
Should I be concerned?

I am a petite woman with about 15 pounds to lose before my wedding in August. I have been doing Insanity religiously, and probably only missed one or two days the whole month. I am following the diet plan at about 80%, with one occasional drink every couple of nights and I think I've splurged a couple of times. I hadn't been super physical before starting this program, though I do play drums and did some light to moderate cardio.
I am in the middle of the recovery week and I don't feel like I've lost much of any fat. I do feel that my muscles are much more developed, and I have continuously improved on the workouts up to this point (although I still have to stop for a short break once or twice during the harder workouts). I've heard that the second month is where the pounds really come off - is this true? I don't have a whole lot to lose, so I'm just assuming that it takes longer when you have less to lose.
Or does it seem like I've been doing something wrong and should be seeing more fat loss?

I would say just keep it up. The first time I lost weight a few years ago, I was going to the gym and it took about 2 months but then the weight started coming off. Of course I have gained it all back and now I am trying to lose again and this time I am using P90X, but I have heard it is the 2nd and 3rd months where the weight loss is really seen.

Hi everyone! Congrats on your progress thus far. I would like to weigh in on the conversation if you guys don't mind.

Weight loss is simple, well simple in regards to the formula, not simple in regards to the effort it takes to do it. It is a matter of calories in vs calories out. You cannot escape this equation.

bakuspirit, if you are following the nutrition plan only 80% your not going to see a lot of weight loss. 20% of the nutrition plan plays a major role in your results.

andrewwiliam, sounds to me like you need to tweak your calories. Did you take into consideration those additional calories from Shakeology and the R/R Formula? If you are taking Shakeology (150 calories ) and taking the R/R Formula (220 calories) that equates to 370 calories. You need to take that into consideration when your figuring out your calories.

jbyrkit, you can lose a lot of weight in the fat shredder phase of P90X, again its about calories in vs. calories out. The additional protein helps build muscle. 1 lb of muscle can burn between 30 - 50 calories per day...

The other thing that has not been mentioned here is the aspect of a support group. I moderate a message board thread with a group of people who are currently working out using Beachbody fitness programs. Studies have shown that people who engage in a support group are more likely to succeed than those that do not engage in a support group.

The thread is made up of a great group of people who are very supportive, motivated and inspirational.

The location of the thread is:

Stop by and check us out if you like what you see, feel free to join in on the conversation. It's an open group so anyone can join. I look forward to talking to you more on the thread.

If you need assistance, give me a shout! I have done multiple rounds of P90X and have also finished Insanity. I know the programs well.

Have a blessed day.

John

So I probably won't lose any weight by not following the diet to a T?
Also, do I need to continue this diet once I lose the desired weight, and will I gain it all back if I stop doing the diet? I just don't exactly understand how I'm supposed to maintain.
