HI EVERYONE!

I am starting Turbo Fire 4/2/12 for the first time. I'm 35, 5'2, and excited to see what I can achieve. Let's get moving and support each other on the journey!

... FAST FORWARD TO 12/5/12: I completed Turbo Fire including the bonus workout program, so a total of 5 months of Turbo Fire. I also finished Insanity, and now I'm doing Les Mills Pump. After starting Turbo Fire and Shakeology I trimmed off another several inches and went down one dress size to a size 6, sometimes 4! I always thought I was going to stay a size 8-10 with a thicker waist, but that has changed. My core has never been stronger or more defined! Thanks Shaun T and Chalene!

Come join us regardless of where you are on your journey.
We are a group of wonderful ladies from all over who have kept in touch with each other since the beginning and are now doing a variety of exercise and programs in addition to Turbo Fire. If you have joined us before and have gotten a little off track, it's time to jump back in and we will be there to support you.

See you on the message boards!

Angie

Just finished Day 1. Wow it was tough. Burned 392 Calories between the Fire and Stretch routines. I think that's the most I've ever burned in such a short period of time!

Finally got my Turbofire in the mail! I am 32, 5'2 and not in great cardiac condition - however, I have faith that Chalene will be changing that. I did TurboJam and Chalean Extreme in the past (distant past)and have fallen off the wagon. I love Chalene's energy - she is the only trainer that makes me look forward to exercise. Not to mention, she is short too, which gives us petite women proof that you don't have to be a 6' supermodel to look great.

I am starting the Prep schedule tomorrow. I look forward to having a group to share progress and help hold me accountable. Good luck my fellow Firecrackers!

508 calories!! If that isn't motivation, I don't know what is. I can't wait to see the calorie burn on my bodybugg. Because of my weird work schedule, I have to shift workouts around. I am a nurse and work 34hours every weekend. Needless to say, I must schedule 2 rest days because there is NO time for a workout when you work 17hours a day. The upside is work alone adds 800-1000 to my daily burn : )

How does the recovery drink taste? I have tried shakeology so many ways and still gag - so I made my own concoction using Barley's Greens and EAS. Also, being an avid scholar of nutrition, I wonder if the creatine is necessary (esp. for cardio). Futhermore, our bodies do a rather good job of making its own. Creatine can cause some fluid retention in muscle which makes them appear larger. (little thing i learned in a biochem lab) So make sure you are drinking LOTS and LOTS of water because your muscle is sucking it up. I am unsure if the creatine content is high enough in the recovery formula to cause the fluid shift, but if you notice the scale not budging for a while try cutting the creatine from your diet and see if it's fluid retention.

(I just realized that my HIIT 15 dvd is damaged... It doesn't play. Grrr. I wonder if BB would replace the one disc? I better check all of them.)

Burn it up!

Hi ladies!

how is everyone doing? I am on day 4 of the inferno. I have to do the Fire 45 and HIIT 20 tonight. Like Chalene says that workout is NO JOKE!!! I snuck on the scale this morning and after being on it for 3 days I am down 5.2 lbs. YIPPEE..

What kind of heart rate monitor are you guys using? I was actually looking for one that tells me the calories burned, so I bought the New Balance one. there is a place where you can see the calories burned but it always says 0 and I cant figure out how to start it. Weird I know. I guess I need to try and find some info on it, the book doesnt really tell me anything.

hope you all have a good day!!

Hi Aimee,
Well, I completed Fire 30/Stretch 10 last night. I am familiar with Chalene's moves; so I didn't need the 'new to class' option. Boy do I have a journey ahead of me...
Here's the skinny:
I have a Polar Heart Rate monitor with the torso strap (very accurate) My Max heart rate threshold is 188 (during the HIITS - I was up over 190) KILLER. I had to modify a lot of the workout to stay in a safe heartrate zone. To keep myself in an aerobic zone my heartrate should be between 155-175. I had to march in place and take my arms out of a lot of the workout. That is the gray area. I know you should be working anaerobically during a HIIT, but they don't tell you at what level you should be working thru the rest of the workout.

As for caloric burn, I have a bodybugg. Best investment of my life! A bodybugg is supposed to be between 92-96% accurate at calculating calories burned, but after my workout last night I am wondering. It told me that I burned 1300 calories!! That can't be right. Although, I used my bodybugg for 2 weeks with no exercise and just adjusted my calories according to what the bodybugg was saying I burned in a day and lost 2 1/2 pounds. I will continue to wear it and monitor weight loss - will keep you posted : )
P.S. Most heartrate monitors have a EXERCISE mode. You must go to that and start it for the gadget to start recording your heartrate and calorie burn... but I have never owned a new balance brand.

I have a Polar FT7 and I love it. I think it's accurate, at least way more so than my Elliptical where I also can use my chest strap with. The polar seems to be very consistent in the ranges of calories I burn depending on my workout intensities. I found that the calories I burn are lower than what my elliptical says, so I go with what the Polar says. The polar FT7 also saves your workout data based on the date and shows bar graph views to show a visual amounts of how many calories you've burned over several workouts. I think it saves data for up to 99 workout sessions (calories burned, workout time, time in fat burning mode, time in fitness mode, average heart rate and maximum heart rate). You set your target heart rate zone.

My average heart rate for the Fire 55 EZ was 182, and average HR was 163. Great job everyone!

Well I guess I win the short award! I am 4'10 and I started Turbo Fire on 4/3. I lost weight prior to starting but needed something to get it going a little faster. My goal is to lose 30 lbs in 12 weeks. Think that's possible?
