synergistics core synergetics 1 round of p90x

I'm going through my second round of P90x. My main problem is (like most) is the tummy area as Im trying to lose weight, be a bit lean while adding some strength. Thinking of modifying and removing KenpoX from routine and adding Core Synergistics in its place. Has anyone done something similar...

I have seen a hybrid with adding core synergistic on the rest day, or take out yoga and do it. I just started round 2 also, and I'm taking out yoga (except on rest week) and adding a core exercise. I do think yoga is important through...I like kenpoX, to me its a good cardio and I'm adding weighted gloves with it.

Thanks, I like kempox too, but I was wanted to know if you add more core work in its place. Will consider your approach, sounds interesting. Yoga, I can only do the first 45 min, time is concern, but I like it...

On loosing the low belly fat...im not a coach, but just keep burning fat. Keep running a negative calorie balance and find what works for your body. For me its 1900 calories a day on a 50/30/20 or 40/40/20 ratio. I went up on calories and my body stopped. With that said, the cardio is going to help burn calories. Hope my thoughts help...my problem areas are my sides and back. Will be the last to go!

You can not do fat spot removal.
Core synergistics wont burn fat of your tummy it will just make it stronger.

Just focus and your weak parts and do the cardio routines to burn fat.

I am not doing yoga but instead plyo a 2nd time a week. Works great. emoticon

I would say keep Kenpo! Dial up the cardio a little in general. I did Day 1 - 60 on classic... and then from 60-90 im doing doubles. I'm on Day 66 at the moment..but I already see a difference adding the cardio! The only noticeable fat I have is on my belly, and I want it gone so bad like everyone else....but cardio is the way to go for that. Keep doing Yoga... the entire thing! You have to keep that core super strong!

My workouts are going well, thanks for asking. I just completed week 1 (second round of P90X), I replaced kenpox with core synergestics, I added two 5k runs ( 1 during yogaX and another on stretch day). The results: I lost 2 lbs this past week which was was very good. Especially given the fact that it was Easter and food was a plenty, I also have a inactive thyroid that I take medication for and metaboism is a problem. However, I was good on the type of food I ate, and stuck to my 1800 calorie boundary, give or take 100 emoticon, with my workouts (~400-500 cals burned per day and food intake (~1800-1900 per day I avg down to ~1400 Cal Net on each day over a 7 day period.) . What I find helpful is the shakes (I have 1 to 2 day), I don't use P90X shakes I have my own that I like.


I am very weak in my core as my belly is too soft, by doing ab ripper and adding core synergestics, i am hoping too get stronger in that area. Plus I think I burn more calories when I core synerstics as I feel its fast paced..so I'm working hard and sweat beads a pleanty!! When I do ab ripper I do not due the full 25 moves in each excercise. I take breaks and do as many as I can in the time it takes Tony and team on the DVD. Today I did ab ripper and I noticed I was able to do 2- 3 more reps of each excerise for the first time. I'm avg 15-20 on each excersise now, Mason twist I can do 30 straight no break, then pause and then finish up with 10 strong ones...First time ever i did that!

I agree with that adding cardio is the best way to burn fat, so hence why I added 2 5k runs in my routine. Perhaps I will add kenpo during resting week..

How about you Jpick10, how are your workouts working...

My Calorie intake ratio that I target was Carb: 40%, Fat :30%, and Protien 30%

My actual was : C:43% F: 32% and P:25%

Going to try and reduce the fat and carb intake and while trying to increase Protein intake this week, going to see how this impacts my energy level by doing this...

Hey Dreathlock, by taking Yoga out do you find your strength still adequate, I agee though Cardio and Plyo is better in the beginning because you need to lose the LBS....I did that too in the first round, but now as I'm lighter for the second round, I think I should stick to keeping yoga as it helps core and overall strength and flexibility...only problem I can't do the full 1.5 hours, I do the first 45 min, and then go for a run...

Sounds like you have some good stuff going on! Keep pressing play and it will happen...That belly fat is the hardest to shed if thats where you carry your weight. My workouts are going good. I'm still pressing play, actually I'm about to go do plyo. I'm on my second week of my Round 2 hybrid of P90X.

I agree with you on the amount of food hanging around this weekend! My problem was the sweets. First time i have had sweets since the end of December. I've got to FOCUS on the mission at hand!

Awesome job with your goals on Ab RipperX! Your numbers are about where I'm at.

My diet, I'm sticking with 1900 calories with 40/40/20 P/C/F ratios to keep burning fat.
