Need Encouragement Newbie P90x
Showing 11 results.
Hi,

Me and my husband are about 3 weeks into P90x and I don't really look any different. It can be so discouraging. The only difference is that I am more energetic. This is probably the most intense I have ever worked out in my life. I guess I was hoping for the fat to fly off immediately emoticon. I know it will take hard work but how long until we see results? I will be honest I don't enjoy P90x, I do it because I hope I get some awesome results. Most people have said, they noticed changes right away, I just wonder if this will work for me. Any advice you can give me would be appreciated!!

Thank you!

Hello,

I have been training for years and I can tell you that each body is different and you really have to find what best works for you. My wife and I are doing the p90x and having results but you may need to tweak purhaps your diet or cardio. [Edited By Touseef]Also what are your fitness goals? Try to choose the P90x program or any other program in the Beach Body line that can better fit your goalemoticon

oh by the way I have had success motivating my friends into losing weight. I would be glad if I could offer some encouragement for you and your husband. You have taken the most important step and started the program. You will get results, dont be discouraged if you have to adjust certain things to get results. For example my wife was noticing that really she wasnt losing as much fat as she wanted, now granted this is our 3rd week. So I suggested incorporating jogging 30 min 2 or 3 times a week which will help her burn additional calories.

I just got a opportunity to be free if you would like to call. Congratulations you are on your 3rd week! Keep it up!

Hi Stanekmr, how fast you see results really depends on where you are coming from so don't get discouraged. It takes 6 weeks or so for the average person to see significant changes. Some sooner, some later but it is not the same for everyone. Your body may also be experiencing some inflammation as well due to the stress you are now putting on it. That is normal also. Have you done body measurements or taken pictures? That is a true test of progress not the scale.

Anyway, my point is there are many factors that play into how fast you see results. How close are you following the meal plan, how fast is your body adjusting, etc. One thing that stood out for me though was your statement about how you don't enjoy P90X. Believe it or not that too can be a factor. If your heart isn't in it you could be limiting your performance. You have to BRING IT as they say emoticon

Can you expand on what is it that you don't enjoy about the program? Is it the flow of the workouts? Also which are you doing, classic or lean?

Hi stanekmr! emoticon

Congrats on starting P90X! It does take time to see results and it will likely be inches before pounds. Following the nutrition plan is essential for good results. Do you track your food? Women tend to get results later in the program than men. What is your goal? It is important to have realisttic expectations. What do you not like P90X? Do you both do it together? I would be happy to help!

Thanks everyone!!

I truly just need to be patient. Its so easy to gain the weight but very hard to lose it. Each time we work out, we are giving it everything we have. We have never worked out this hard in our lives. So it definitely challenges us and we are working out together so that is very helpful.

The true test will come once I fit back into my clothes again. emoticon Neither of us will quit and we both feel motivated to keep working out. I am glad for the support thanks again everyone!

I want you to know that I too am finishing my third week with P90X Classic. I started out at 282.2 lbs. (I am 5' 7" tall), last weeks weigh in was 274 lbs. Can't wait to weigh in this week! I follow my nutrition plan religiously and have only skipped one day of working out to date (travel). This is working for me and I am sure it will work for you and your husband. Stick with it and the weight will drop!! I am here for you and every other X'er will stand with you all as you go through this transformation. Friend me, I'll keep in touch and support in any way possible. Congratulation on deciding to change your life for good, forever. Bring it everyday.

My husband and I are doing p90 classic together, we are in the beginning of week 3 and we haven't seen any changes we don't follow the p90 diet due to the cost but we do follow a healthy low cal low fat diet. You had asked a person on here what she didn't like about p90x speaking for myself it gets a little frustrating how much time Tony wastes talking and BSing with the people in the video, we started muting the videos but I feel the workout videos would take less time away from our day if he didn't talk so much.

I put him on mute and listen to music. I also play it on my computer instead of a
DVD player so I can scroll through it when he is just bull shitting.
