So yeah, originally I was a little concerned with P90X2 and Phase 1. I was thinking I didn't want to lose the great progress I made in the Original P90X and that perhaps there wasn't going to be enough weight lifting and ect.

I think it's growing on me. Today was an intense workout for X2 Total Body. My Core was on fire and the slow and intense Ab Ripper X2 was great too!

Lets see what the rest of the week brings. What does everyone else think of phase 1?

It's hard not to compare to P90X but in the end need to realize they are different and focus on different goals!

I loved Phase 1. It may not be an intense as Phase 2 or 3 (or P90X) but I made some great gains in core strength during that phase. It pays off in the long term.

Awesome! I hope so! I am excited for the new moves I am learning and ect!

I was trying to keep up with Plyocide and noticed at the end that I was doing the hand clap and feet clap pushups!! I was never able to do that in p90x!!!!! Makes me want to push more and more!

SO, P90X2 Yoga X2, a quicker form of the original P90X Yoga X - only a little over an hour long compared to an hour and a half!!

The movements are similar to those you may already know from the original. One thing I noticed that they go through each move faster than before which is how I think they make up the time and have cut out some extended movements.

Overall I liked it. Anyone else have an opinion?

I just finished my week 1 of P90X2. I have completed 1 Round of Insanity, 1 Round of P90X and 1 round of an awesome but brutal P90X/Insanity Hybrid. I heard all kind of things about how weak and slow the P90X2 program was, so I was concerned if I should do it or not. I will say now that it made me more humble stumblimg along on some of the moves. I improved as the week went on and I am very much looking forward to week 2 starting on Tuesday. I loved the X2 Yoga (Hated Yoga X) I even enjoy ABX2 better than ABX. When I viewed Plyo I thought this will be easy since I have done Insanity, wow I was wrong. Tougher than it looks.
I plan on 5 weeks of Phase 1, but that could change.

Awesome Stephen!

Yeah, I finished a round of P90X little over a week ago. I am into my second week of P90X2. I pushed harder for my core x2 workout yesterday to ensure that I was engaging my core more and to work on the form. Makes a big difference. By the time i get to the last move I can only do like 4 to 5 all together.

I am eager to see what kind of results it will bring me!

Yeah Yoga X was brutal in the first one but I learned to like it - forced myself of course.. lol

ABX2 I haven't decided on yet though I did like it. I like all the new moves in the program but I am all over the place and need to work on the stability more. Thus, I am not sure how long I will do Phase 1 yet! We will see!!!

Great job on finishing those programs those! That is great and takes a lot of dedication! Congrats!!

I'll jump in on this thread if I'm welcome...

I just started P90X2 on Monday, just a week and a couple of days after I finished my first round of P90X. I had some great results from the P90X round, but really didn't dial in my nutrition until the last month or so. Don't get me wrong, I didn't cheat during my first round or anything like that, I just didn't nail down my tracking until I started using myfitnesspal. I saw some incredible results once I did though. It seems like weight started melting off during my last month, even though I was eating 40% carbs, 40% protein and 20% fats. I'm starting this round of P90X2 on the fat shredder plan...we'll see what happens with that.

So far, I was somewhat underwhelmed with X2 Core, although admittedly, some of the exercises were very difficult both to perform and learn for the first time. I trust this will get harder as I progress. That being said, I woke up on Tuesday with my core nice and sore, and I did sweat like hell towards the end of the workout.

Plyocide was perfect in my opinion. The original plyo from P90X killed me each time, and so did this workout. However, I never breathed as hard as I did on Tuesday morning with the new workout. I feel like it is less leg burning than the original and more cardio, which is a department I'm definitely lacking in. I have a lot of room for improvement with this workout.

This morning was recovery and mobility and all I can say is wow! That rumble roller hurts so good. I have been fooling around with it over the last couple of days, but really put it to good use this morning. It's funny, I feel almost instant relief when I'm done using it, although certain areas, like my neck, definitely see problems return later in the day. I guess I just have to keep using it more and more. The only problem with that is that I am actually already sore from it! Anyone else feel like you got punched fifty times after the first couple of times you've used the rumble roller?

Hey everyone. I am going to join this thread too. I restarted P90X2 on Monday, just finished day 3. I have done 2 rounds of P90X, and about 5 weeks of P90X2, but I hurt my elbow in February and have just got back in the program. Elbow still hurts sometimes, but working out makes me feel much better then the mild pain in my elbow.

I am looking forward to giving/gaining motivation from everyone.

KPP,
Steve

Bigduhon, the foam roller hurts a ton, I can't even imagine how a rumble roller feels.

Yeah I prolly should have taken a week break or something but I was too excited to start the new program! I started after I finished my first round of P90X. My Fitness Pal is awesome!! Let me know how the fat shredder plan works!

Yeah it can get overwhelming! Core X2 is intense, specially the total body workout with ab ripper x2! I was hurting bad last night.

Yeah – some people actually do phase 1 for a couple extra weeks to build their stability and core to be able to do the rest of the program more effectively.

Yeah, I feel it in my back the most. But still trying how to use it more effectively.

I just finished my first round of X2. I loved it. At first I also was worried about "losing"
what I had accomplished in P90x. Don't worry, your not going to lose anything. your going to gain quite a bit. I joined "http://teamripped.com/" and we did the whole program together starting Jaunary 16th. We have a facebook page (X2 crew) Find Wayne Watt on face book, you have to request to be in the group. They are some very determined people. I had to press pause the first couple of times I tried Plyocide. Now, Thanks to the group, I'm doing it with a weighted vest.(I'n my case, my sons Incrdible Hulk backpack with a Med ball wrapped in a beachtowel inside of it). I have also been working on not stopping at all. I try to just keep doing whatever move Tony is doing until He starts the next one, and then go right into it without stopping. I usually blow through the first waterbreak but I have to stop and take a drink during the second one. I have been stopping at the next break but I'm working on skipping it. The group also got me started using http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ A free Website that you can use to track your calories. I now believe 75% of my results came from changes in my diet. It has a phone app too, but I am one of the few people left without a smart phone. I started with 2 Med balls and I just bought a 10lb one. The Med ball moves like 4 ball pushups and 3 ball extravaganza work much better on Med balls than basketballs. Rembember, I didn't say easy. Just less falling on my face. Keep pushing Play. Steve

Day 4: Total Body/ARX2 done!! I still love this workout a lot. Tricep kickbacks on a stability ball still kick my butt, balancing for that is tough. Time to get ready for bowling night, see everyone tomorrow.

Steve

P90X did wonders for me. I felt a lot better, more flexible, had more energy, and my cholesterol improved(oatmeal helped too). I lost 7 or 8 lbs as well and my clothes were a lot looser. I didn't quite get to my weight goal, mainly because I didn't focus on my diet as well as I should have.

This time, I will get there. I am going to lose 1 lb per week until I reach my goal, which at that rate will be in 15 weeks, I am putting a 2 week buffer in there, so a total of 17 weeks (119 days). The plan is 6 weeks of phase 1, 6 weeks of phase 2, and between 3 and 5 weeks of phase 3, depending on if I need a recovery week inbetween phases.

Well, two more P90X2 workouts down. First, yesterday was total body, which I liked. I still didn't get crazy exhausted like with some P90X workouts, but I love the core focus. There were several exercises where I need a ton of improvement. One thing that pissed me off is that I had a really difficult time with boing pushups and the balance extensions, both on the stability ball. I kept looking at Tony and seeing how he seemed so much more propped up on his ball, where I felt really low. Turns out the Ultimate Upgrade I ordered came with a 55cm ball, and being 6'2", that is just too small for me. I never got an option to select a bigger ball. I think that is something Beachbody really needs to correct.

This morning was X2 Yoga. I sweat like hell and I didn't feel like I aged three years by the time the workout was done. I feel like this one will be my go to yoga workout, even if I go back and do another round of P90X at some point. The original was just too damn long, which oddly enough I thought was good in the beginning when it was my first exposure to yoga. Towards the end of my first round, I just loathed it though.

Finally, I had my yearly physical yesterday. In addition to dropping twenty plus pounds and generally looking and feeling better, I saw incredible changes in my blood work. My cholesterol went from 221 to 169, with the bad LDL going from 146 to 104. Oddly enough, my triglycerides were slightly up (still only 98), but in all, my doctor was very excited by my results. So was I.

Day 5: X2 Yoga finished. Yoga always seems to work me. Today wasn't an exception. I was pleasantly pleased how I felt towards the end though. It was like I got a second wind, but then it was time for corpse pose. I got to get some yard work done today, see everyone tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

Steve

Bigduhon
Awesome results on your physical!!!

Steve
I use myfitnesspal as well when I am focused that is. It's a great program.

Harrincc
Since I started Monday, I am currently consuming 1500 calorie per day. This is slightly lower then my target calories I will eat through most of the program, will probably move up to 1800-2100 calories per day depending on how my body feels. My consumption is 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fat. I have not taken into account workouts as far as calories per day. When I did P90X, I used to eat 2400 calories per day, burn ~600, for a net 1800. I lost weight, but it was a slow process.

I know slow weight loss is good, but I wanted to give my diet a kickstart for a few weeks. Does that seem reasonable??

Day 6: Balance and Power. Wow. I forgot how hard this one was. I was spent about halfway, pushed on, no second wind today. Hope to improve on this one next week.

Steve

For anyone curious, here is my diet plan initially!!

B- Protein shake, vitamins, and a fish oil.
S1- Tuna fish pouch and 1 slice whole wheat bread.
L- A whole wheat and fiber wrap with turkey or ham, lettuce/spinach, a half piece of cheese, and spicy mustard. Also I eat a serving of pretzels or fruit.
S2- Kashi bar.
D- Approx 6 oz. Chicken breast, fish, turkey, low fat beef/steak(1 time per week). Salad with a vinagrette dressing, green beans, cabbage, mushrooms, etc for a veggie. Also been eating occasionally 7 tiny potatoes, if I recall its like 80 calories or so, or brown rice.
S3- 2 egg whites and an apple or berries(black, blue, ras, straw). If I had fruit for lunch, I dont eat for another snack unless I need more carbs/sugars. Typically 1 fruit serving a day works for me.

That about sums it up. No eating out, no soda, no coffee, lots of water, no junk food(unless you count pretzels) It seems to be working for me so far.
