I know what is like to be overweight, out of shape, and unhealthy. I also know what it is like to be fit, strong and healthy. What I don't know is what it is like to be the very best version of me. That is where my quest for the next great thing begins. Feel free to join me, if you want to become better than you use to be. Join me for a ride that will have lumps, bumps and all sorts of obstacles not to mention victories and high-five moments.

My main pursuit has always been spiritual endurance, mental power and physical transformation. Age doesn't define me, socioeconomic status doesn't confine me and stereotypical expectation will never contain me.

I think outside of the box and I believe in pushing past the limits. I also believe in producing results, which is all about clinging to what works and letting go of what doesn't. Which means failure plays a great part in my success. This old girl really does have to go through hell to reach heaven ah put thus far the reward of sacrifice has always been worth the pain of discipline.

Stay true to who you are and always love the skin that you are in

Training Mode: Fuego!

It is all about igniting the fire, turning up the heat and withstanding the pressure. I started out strong and fresh and finished battered and bruised. We have just entered a ten day microcycle of hard and heavy. After our am session I was totally blown away. Even my pain has pain. Hopefully I will be fully recover and be able to bring the intensity before the evening session begins. It is only ten days of raw intensity I can take it....I pray emoticon

Fuel the dream, make it happen!

Heck Yeah I am mad! ( Once Again!!!!)

Yes, my all granny drawers are tied in a knot once again. I am mad, people so listen up.emoticon

Just because you fall off the boat does not mean you have to drown and just because you fall of the wagon ( or get pushed off the wagon) does not mean you have to stay on the ground. You are a winner, designed to take the challenges of life and conquer.
There is no greater shame to humanity than to see an awesome champion, like you give up and quit.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself just because you blew it, just keep trying until you get it right.
You are not the first person to win and then lose. I tell you it is time to comeback for another win. I realize life can hurt, it is not some Hollywood fantasy but an everyday reality. There are no perfect conditions, no excellent opportunities, use what you have.

Stop bemoaning the fact that person X can eat everything, never move a muscle and not gain a pound. Get over it you are not person X! Work with your body.

Stop telling me about how you would get it together if you had a trainer, a maid, a cook a nutritionist and someone to wipe your uh ...nose for you. Flourish in your circumstances, work with what you have.

Stop badmouthing your body and putting someone else on a pedestal. You deserve to only be the best version of your yourself, why chase after something you can never ever have, appreciate what is yours. So what if you are overweight, and flabby or skinny fat. Work to change it, but love the skin you are in. Your body is a blessing respect and honor it and please celebrate the fact that you are a one of a kind original.

Oh and one more thing

Start loving yourself, this planet needs all the love that it can find. You are a treasure chest of love share the wealth.

You are worthy of love embrace this truth.

Training mode: Bloodthirsty, it truly felt like violence against my own personage

The walk has to match the talk and today I am walking in soreness, massaging the pain.
It is the good kind of pain, the pain of growth and development, at least that is my hope.
It takes time to grow great things, it also takes work but right now my body seems to be
In turbo acceleration mode, it wants to evolve and change as much as I want it to. So I plan on utilizing every moment of this blessing.

I confess I was slower than usual, and my timing a little off but it all boils down to accomplishing the mission to the best of ability.

Great things are around the corner, don't give up and for goodness sakes don't quit

Training Mode: Taking it by force

My morning run was a wonderful head trip until I hit this imaginary wall. I think it was steel plated and designed to do harm.
Seriously my tank registered nutritionally deplete a little after mile 2. Such is the problem that sometimes accompanies fasted
cardio. The problem is I don't do food in the wee hours of the morning. Heck I can hardly think much less focus on eating.
I jogged the last mile in a slow trot, beautiful morning disappointing last mile.

After a light fuel up I was able to weight train without any drama. Each second I get to train is a blessing, I am truly thankful. I also appreciate being able to fuel properly. I am training to become better one prayer, one workout and one spoonful at a time.

Deal with Distractions: Stuff I tell Myself

Distractions are like deadly dynamite and if not contained can detour the dream, compromise the mission and delay progression. You have to jump through hurdles, overcome obstacles, push past barriers and sacrifice convenience and comfort.Mental preparation and spiritual fortification is the solid foundation for sustained physical fitness success. Life doesn’t care if you stay focused on a goal 12 days, 12 weeks or a lifetime.
It will only dish out what you put in. The formula to succeed will always be simple but never easy.

Temporary satisfaction versus permanent gratification. There is no sense of entitlement flowing through my veins. I realize if you anything badly enough you must earn it. The sugar plum fairy, isn’t going to coat life with gooey sweetness and stop reality from occurring. Push through even during the trials of life or your only reward will be a sad story. A sad tale without a victorious ending is a boring read and a victorious life without problems, trials and pain is pure fantasy.

Now get off your butt, resist the distraction and go do what you have to do!emoticon

Did You Say Self-Sabotage?

You don’t need any enemies when are determined to hurt yourself...Yes, I am talking about self-sabotage. You know when you commit a crime against yourself. You have vowed to get in the best physical shape of your life, you are going to eat correctly, and exercise with purpose but you start skipping your training session and then you start eating way to much of what isn’t good for you. You bang your head against the wall for acting so idiotic, then afterwards you might have one of those what in the heck was I thinking realizations as you sink into a pity-puddle of regret.

Then you do what any good human would do, you stomp your feet, vow to reform ....but three days later you are back at it again. Yes, you have just launched an all out attack on yourself. If you keep this cycle up long enough discouragement sneaks in like a dirty little thief, followed by the sly fox of discouragement and finally big bad attitude itself shows up telling you that you will never make it, as forget I quit flows from your mouth.

Yea, I know you don’t really want to quit but lets face it progression either grinds to a halt or comes awfully slow when we engage in an affair with self-sabotage. It isn’t to encouraging to lose five pounds, only to gain five pounds over and over again.

The only known antidote against self-sabotage is tough self love!. You know the kind of love where you say no to all things that will stop your progression. Once again it is one of those easier said that done things. Life is so simple in a complicated way. Kicking your own self in the butt hurts, not achieving the goal hurts even worst.

May we all strive for perfection when it comes to defeating self-sabotage.
Now to all those who have fallen, get back up, and to all those who are up lend a helping hand.

Today I am strong allow me to lend you my strength. Tomorrow I might be weak and I will be depending on you to lend me some of your power. Together we really can make this experience known as life better.

An You Thought This Would Be Easy ....LOL >_>

Do we really have to go through this again?

Repeat after me, and allow this to nestle in each fiber of your brain.

Instant gratification is a deadly foe to permanent satisfaction.

Okay you want more valid proof look around if you don’t believe me.

Anyone can deny themselves unhealthy food and workout for a 12 week transformation contest but not everyone is willing to eat healthy and train their bodies for life.

Some people will lose weight for a special occasion but not all people are going to be
Dedicated to living a lifestyle that keeps them at a healthy weight daily.

All people have the potential to reach their objectives but most potential goes unused.

Excuses are valid reason that soothe the conscience, okay maybe you were seduced by the sofa, held captive by the remote control, forced to consume a large bucket of ice cream covered with fudge topping’s after being strong armed into finishing off an extra topping pizza with a grizzly sized soda. It still will keep you from obtaining your goals.
{Trust me I tried this one for years it simply doesn’t work ...trust me people}

Having no excuses, highlights opportunities and paves the way for ultimate victory.

Instant gratification feels great for a moment but permanent satisfaction is something you get to savor daily.

You really do have to sacrifice to make your dreams a reality embrace that fact and
Remember you have everything you need to become all that you want to be.

Be it !

Yes, I am back, playing the jet lag yo-yo. It has been a wild and fun week. Granted most of my training did take place in the four walls of a fitness center and I am a living testimony that too much fiber without enough water is not a good thing! ( trust me on this one) I hope everyone is enjoying this mysterious thing called life as we get ready for another prosperous week.

Forget the old, embrace the new, bury yesterday and refresh yourself in the newness of each day. I promise you I am a wonderfully flawed woman who is thankful for each heartbeat and participating in this thing called life is an everyday adventure. So now I am all wrapped up in the process of letting go.....

Letting go

The stuff I want to cling to is usually the stuff that hampers my growth, hinders my success and causes me angst. How do you say good bye when you are comfortable with the familiar? The practice of letting go is still an art form that I haven’t completely mastered. It isn’t always easy to neutralize the opposition especially when the oppositon is your own detrimental desires. I really do have a complicated relationship with myself.

I stand under no illusion, I am an incrediblely but wonderfully flawed woman that is thankful for each heartbeat. So I stare down the enemy within as I forget the old, embrace the new, bury yesterday and refresh myself in the newness of now. I have to face the facts each day is an opportunity. I either advance my cause, flee in retreat or sit on my bun and allow the consequences to do whatever. I have discovered I am not into being a “whatever” type gal. I would rather fly and succeed on my own terms. The wisdom of letting go, gives me the freedom to expand and grow. The safety of complacency is a cloaked deception. I only get one chance to live each day, what a precious responsibility.

Training Notes

Today all the elements came together the buzz of the alarm, the opening of my eyelids, the yawn of life. There was a running trail with my name on it and I did what I was summoned to do. Sixty minutes later I was back at the training studio working my shoulders, traps and abs. It was a slow sizzle of pain mixed with the salty goo of sweat.

I was one hot mess, by the end of the training session I felt like a butterfly that had been dipped in honey and splattered against a wall. Yes, it to a few moments to scrap myself off and embrace the non-training aspects of my life but just being alive made it a great day and I am going to use that as a qualifier when it comes to Wednesday wins!

Come on people, find that glimmer of happiness, that sliver of hope and a few drops of unconditional love and celebrate the beauty of all that you are.

Follow the exploits of an old chick, as she fights to stay in shape, consume healthy foods and have fun doing it. Today’s training was indeed an award winning performance, if only in my mind. Seriously, every muscle from my neck down was screaming pain today. I didn’t have delay onset muscle soreness. I had collective wrecking ball, pound your flesh, sneak attack soreness. It was a brutal beast. So just to lace up my sneakers and perform my morning run was either an act of commitment or total stupidity, then to throw weight training, cycling and Insanity into the mix was sheer
craziness. It is a wonderful kind of crazy.

Right now I feel as tough as a smashed noodle. I “normally” have a quick recovery time.
However I really need a long epsom salt soak and a deep tissue massage. The deep tissue massage will be on hold but the epsom salt soak is going to be a welcomed relief.

I believe in human potential, we can do awesome terrific things if we choose to and that extends far beyond living a healthy lifestyle.
The problem is getting people to believe in themselves, it is easy to become beat down by life and swallow only the negative.
Just know that you were designed to fly, to become your best, reach your goal and not simply get by. You have to embrace that truth and start loving the awesome face in the mirror. emoticon

Stop believing your worth is found on the number of the scale, or the size clothing that you wear. Feed your inner hunger to be loved and validated for who you are, and what your are becoming not simply for what you look like and the size of your hips. I totally agree with external transformation but I know it starts on the inside by how you see yourself.

If you have a less than awesome attitude about yourself, today is a great day to start speaking kind words into your spirit. You deserve some kindness so start sharing with yourself today.

you were born to be loved
celebrate yourself ( even if no one else will)

Never underestimate the level of hard work it takes to make the dream become manifestemoticon

Starting well is easy, the middle can be filled with all sorts of mysterious surprises and they aren't all good but reaching the finish line requires persistence.

The good news is no once can steal your dream you have to give it away. The bad news is no one can make you achieve your dream, you have to safeguard it, cherish it and make it become a reality.

The most awesome part is, you can do it, you have what it takes! Now go forth and make it happen emoticon

Wow, I Am Overwhelmed With Gratitude: Please Join Me

My prayer of yesterday, was simply my dream of today and my hope for tomorrow. It is all about bringing excellence to the table, serving brillance on the platter and consuming love continously. I guess you could call it my faith banquet. I want to feast on goodness, spiritually, mentally and physically 24/7 exactly in that order. Call it gluttony, label it greed but I want to be filled and overflow with this wild and crazy kind of joy that turns everything I do into a pleasure and leaves everyone I meet just a little bit better.

In this world there is enough pain, hurt, fear, neglect, rejection and a host of negative energy forces that drains peace, steals hope and suppresses love. My prayer is to always discover that sliver of kindness, branch of unity and fellowship, and leaves of gratitude and then share them with the very next person I meet.

You know life really can be good even in the darkest hour if you focus on the blessing.

Celebrate that next breath everyone it really is priceless.

Ouch!

Truth bombs were falling from the sky pounding me hard, so I jumped off the cliff of wishful thinking into the sea of reality. This thing called life enjoys testing my mental, emotinal, spiritual and physical toughness. I might get beat down but I always bounce back up because a temporary setback is not a permanent defeat.

Lesson from life's battlefield....don't quit, dont give up, press on through, never allow a momentary slip up
trip you up continually.

I never push my body past the foundation that has been built. Progression takes time but it is a still a beautiful journey. Reaching the apex will take time and it will be an awesome view. The great thing is by doing it this way I don't get frustrated or injured and give up. Wasted moments can never be retrieved. It is all about making the most of what you have been given.
