How do I change my coach?
4/27/12 5:54 PM
I didn't pick my initial Coach...and nothing personal, but I just don't think a 75 yr old lady is the right fit for me. I know that probably sounds really bad, but it is not meant to be. Is there any way I can change my coach. Maybe to someone in my local area. Thanks!

To change your coach, you can email coachrelations@teambeachbody.com and request to be changed. Just obtain the coach # of whom you wish to be changed to.
BTW, what type of results did you see from doing your round of p90x? I am in week 8 myself. emoticon
Thanks and good luck! BRING IT!!!

I had the same coach related issue and coach relations told me that if you dont request a change within the first 72 hours of sign up, you cant change it again. Another option I was told was to quit, wait six months, then re-sign under the person you wanted.

Hey there fellow ARMY Dog.

As others have explained, a coach change is simple. It is just an email to coachrelations@teambeachbody.com. You will have to give them your new coaches name and ID.

I am not in your area, but I am available most of the day via email, message boards, and Facebook. I have a tom of experience with multiple programs. As you can see by my number of posts (2400+) I am on the message boards a lot helping out Beachbody members.

Buddy me and lets talk more.

That is only if you are a coach. If you are a member of TBB and want to change coaches, you can do that at any time. You just cant change coaches when you are a coach. Hope that clarified things.

Thanks Kim, Jessica, Nicole, Palmer and Jason! I will email them and see if you can be my Coach Jason. Gotta stick with the Army Dog! All of you have done fantastic jobs with these programs! Nicole, to answer your question, I saw some OK results with P90X, however I didn't give it my all. I skipped workouts and didn't follow the nutrition guide. I'm in decent shape already from years in the Army and a lot of running, however I could never get rid of this "spare tire"! I decided to go "all out" with Insanity for the whole 8 weeks and see what happens. No crappy food, follow the nutrition plan to the T, count calories, and never miss a workout! I just finished my 3rd week and WOW! It pays to follow the plan exactly. Already can see the spare tire going down. I also decided to get on here and get some support from fellow Beachbody people. You guys are great, and I hope to get lots of info from all of you!! Thanks again...talk to ya soon.

Hey Mike! Coach Jason is a great pick especially with y'all both being Army Dogs!! (thank you to both of you by the way!!) I'm glad you took some time to pick a coach. It's so important to connect with your coach. Fortunately, most of the time when a customer is "assigned" a coach it will be with someone like Jason, Jessica, Nicole, Palmer, or myself. Coaches that really care about their clients. Unfortunately though, sometimes customers get assigned someone that definitely isn't a good pairing...hello...you paired with a 71 year old female coach???...probably not the most in common there =) or sometimes the coach isn't even an active coach. Good luck!! I know you'll do great!!

Kim. Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure everyone would have been solid choices because we are all on the boards daily answering questions with zero regard whether or not someone is our customer. Good luck to you.

Mike,
I totally understand. There is such a difference when you follow the plan. I have done that myself, so i get it. I do want to wish you good luck with whomever you choose. I am sure that you will find a great coach to work with!

So, are you saying if I am a coach that I can't change my coach at all? I was randomly assigned a coach as everyone is when they sign up for TBB. Since then I've become a coach, but NOT due to anything "my coach" ever said or did.

Twice this week, I've requested from coach relations that they change my coach to someone that I know and they have acknowledged that request and said that it's been processed. But I'm still showing the lazy guy whom I didn't pick and never contacts me. So it's taking about a week and I've still gotten no results. Although team relations SAYS that it's getting done. Both times they said that it would take 24-48 hours to show up. Not impressed.

Hey LorPet-once you sign up to coach, it's hard to change, but not impossible. You can, but you have to quit for six months and then sign up again under the coach you like. Have you logged onto your online office?? If you have, look for "contact us" at the bottom of the page and try the live chat. It's cool, and you get your answer then or give coach relations a call. Maybe theyll work with you. The coach that you're wanting to sign up with should be able to help walk you through it. I'm sorry for a sucky first assigned coach!!!! Most of us aren't like that!! I would've been thrilled to have been assigned as your coach!

Wow, that is really a ridiculous policy!
As you can see, I've been a member since 2010, but I've been using BB for 10 years. When I finally signed up for TBB, I got the automatically assigned coach who NEVER contacted me until I became a coach myself. And then it was a perfunctory 2 or 3 "how you doing?" emails and then nothing for about 2 months, but by that time I'd already found a coach I wanted to work with.
I shouldn't have to quit for SIX MONTHS, that's insane. How does that effect the fact that I'm a Coach?? Wouldn't my screen name have to change and my Contacts be notified? So unhappy with BB for this!!! I'll try you suggestion though...Lori

I am not really certain why the policy. Maybe it's in place to help with a situation like I had:

I had a client, and I do work with all my clients that want help, that was interested in coaching. I spent a lot of time telling him about what was involved and answering his questions. Several emails. After he signed up, once again, we worked together. i was making sure that he was getting the training that he needed. Then out of the blue I get an email that coaching was causing martial and financial problems. He told me that he'd have to quit. I totally didn't understand because he had really been kicking butt as a coach and was almost Emerald in a month. I respected his choice though. I wished him well. Then a few weeks later, I see him on TBB thread as a coach! I would have been so cool with him switching coaches if he'd just told me the truth. His new coach was someone from his state so maybe it was a friend that he didn't realized coached or maybe his wife's friend??? It doesn't matter. We all need to work with a coach that we like, personalities mesh, and that we respect. It was just wrong how he went about doing it. So maybe it's to deter people from doing what he did. Coach relations did find out...no I didn't tell on him (on purpose). I was so upset that I had been lied to that I told my coach about the situation. That's when she told me about the 6 month's policy. Maybe she said something or maybe it just came out in the wash when BB did the paperwork? It doesn't matter.

I would say that you'd have to change your username and contact your clients and let them know like you are thinking =( I really hope that BB will work with you to switch to the active coach versus the one you are under now. If not...maybe don't quit...just keep doing your thing. Especially if you have several clients. Maybe your friend that's also a coach could be your success partner and you could work with him. You don't have to be under him to work your business and help your clients. It just sucks that this guy doesn't get to have you as one of his coaches.

Good Luck!! Let me know what happens.

Kim

Official Team Beachbody Answer to Coaches changing Coaches:

"We truly apologize for the confusion; unfortunately we are unable change your sponsor. A Coach may change sponsors within the first three business days after submitting his or her Coach Application and Agreement. If more than three (3) business days have passed since Coach sign-up, a Coach may legitimately change organizations by voluntarily cancelling his or her Beachbody business and remaining inactive for six (6) full calendar months. Following the 6-month period of inactivity, the former Coach may reapply under a new sponsor.

If a Coach cancels his or her business, he or she need not wait six (6) calendar months before reenrolling if: (a) he or she reenrolls under the same sponsor he or she had at the time he or she canceled; and (b) that sponsor has not changed lines of sponsorship during the period during which the Coach was canceled. The Coach who reenrolls must start his or her business anew, and will not be entitled to his or her prior position in the genealogy."

This is a truly HORRIBLE way to treat a Coach! To tell us that we have to CANCEL OUR BUSINESS and WAIT 6 months! Shame on Beachbody for this ridiculous policy!

Ugh! Sorry!! I kind of figured but was hopeful. I seriously think if I had several clients that I would just stay and work along with this other coach. Y'all could still do that. Just forget that your existing coach is even your upline . You are your own upline with a success partner in the friend that you have that also coaches.

That is only if you are a coach yourself. If you aren't a coach yourself you can change your coach anytime you want and any number of times.
