Insanity Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs Question
Insanity Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs Question

We are getting ready to do the Insanity Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs workout soon this week. When doing this do you do the cool down on Pure Cardio and the warm up on Cardio Abs or do you skip the cool down on Pure Cardio and move straight into Cardio Abs. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I prefer to skip the cool down on Pure Cardio and go right into Cardio Abs because I like to keep my adrenaline going. In the beginning I did the cool down and would lose all of my energy for Cardio ABs. It is all based on preference but just be sure to stretch well after Cardio ABs. Pure Cardio is really an insane workout because there are no water breaks. I have heard of people doing the Cardio ABs routine before Pure Cardio.

I did them at separate times of the day so I could give my best effort to each. I usually did Pure Cardio in the morning and Cardio Abs at night. Others in my group did Cardio Abs 1st then went right into Pure Cardio. I tried that once and it was OK, but I felt doing them at different times of the day worked best for me.

You'll find what works best for you. I think the most important thing as that you do it! emoticon

I do the cool down on Pure Cardio AND the warm-up on Cardio Abs. The warm-up in Cardio Abs is an ab workout on its own, and deviates from the warm-up on the other Insanity workouts to incorporate more ab work. So don't skip the warm-up just because you're already warmed up (you didn't mention this, but I know it crossed my mind the first time around). The cool down on Pure Cardio includes stretches that are not included on Cardio Abs, so I like to do it all. However, if you are crunched for time, or if you're so pumped after Pure Cardio you just can't dream of taking a break before you do more cardio, you can skip the Pure Cardio cool down and go straight to Cardio Abs, then at the end of the Cardio Abs cool down, throw in some more stretching on your own (or go back to the Pure Cardio video and watch just the cool down section if you wish.
It's ultimately up to you. See how you feel after Pure Cardio, and if you want to just get right into it, switch over to Cardio Abs. Just make sure you don't ignore the extra stretching! You've done enough cool downs with Insanity to know the routine by now, and you should be able to throw in a few more stretches at the end of Cardio Abs.
Enjoy your workout! It's a doozy doing both for the first time, but I love the Cardio Abs video, and now I'll do just that on my "off" days so I'm always sure to get a little exercise in each day.
