I can't really help, but I had a similar experience. Monday starts my last week and I have only lost 3 pounds, and I lost those all in the 4th week. My measurements haven't really changed much either, only 2.5" off my entire body, BUT I can see definite changes. I have my before and end of month 1 pics on my profile, if you would like to look at them. Next Sunday I will be taking my after and posting all 3 here.
The biggest change I see is in my abs, which is where I want it, but I was hoping for more after looking at TONS of pics here and you tube videos.

Technically, I've been doing Insanity for just over two months now. At first I couldn't get through the workouts as they were scheduled so I would work out for two days and then take one day off. I also missed about five days in a row during spring break. I did eventually finish the first "30 days". I didn't lose much weight, and I knew I wasn't ready to go into month 2, so I started back at month one. Now, my second week of month 2 starts today, I haven't missed any days, I'm strong enough to get through each work out (although there are still a few exercises that I can't do yet) and I continue to see results. They aren't overwhelming results by any means, but I do feel like I'm stronger and getting better. With my short bio in mind here is my advice for you (and myself).

1. Be realistic: Think about where you are starting and where you want to go from here. Really look at factors such as age, general health and diet. I'm already 38 years old, My diet is hit and miss, and I'm not sure if I'm shaped more like a bowling ball or a bowling pin, but in either case '60 days' isn't going to make me Shaun T. It has made me much stronger and better than I was before. I'll eventually put up some photos to back this up. If you and your husband are already in good shape, like Supermom, then you probably won't lose much weight. You'll just tighten up.

2. Look for success: My first success was getting through a work out. My next success was being able to work through a week as scheduled. I'm looking forward to the days when I can do all of the movements, but I'm not there yet. The scale might not be changing, but you might be redistributing the fat into muscle. Take your measurements (I still need to do this). Think about how you feel. Ultimately, if you feel better and you are getting stronger then that's a good thing. Also, check to see if your clothes are fitting better. All of these little things are motivation apart from the scale.

3. Give it time: If you are like me, you want to face the problem, overcome it, and then move on to the next thing. I want to get through this program, get into shape, and then be done with it. Unfortunately, living a healthy lifestyle is something that we can never get done with. If you don't do the 'Insanity' exercises, you'll still need to do something else. Three weeks isn't really a lot of time. Even going through the entire program isn't a lot when stacked against the rest of our lives. '60 days' is a good start, but I plan to go right back to day 1 just as soon as I'm done with day 60. Imagine how much better your results will be when you start up again after already having gone through it once or twice.

4. Diet: The last thing I would mention is diet. I would say to look at the nutrition guide and prepare those foods if you can afford it and have time to prepare it. Beyond that at least do the little things that we all know about: cut out the sodas and fast food.

I hope I haven't bored you. I could have probably saved you a lot of time by just saying 'Hang in there', but I'll bet that you are doing a lot better than you think you are. Don't let the scales scare you away from a good program.

Hey, I am a realist and the same thing happened to me when I was doing P90x. I got stuck at the same weight for 3 weeks. One of my friends who is a runner told me to cut out dairy...seriously...I never would have guessed he was right. As soon as I switched the milk in my coffee to soy and stopped eating dairy, the weight melted off like butter. I decided to only eat cheese a few days a week, in small portions. Now, I have been steadily losing 2-3 pounds a week ever since.

Also, take pictures of everything because a lot of your fat is just changing into muscle. Insanity is quite popular for getting people sculpted and muscular. If you do not want to gain a lot of muscle, I would change insanity to be sort of a hybrid workout with another cardio option. I think you are doing great and you are amazing for being honest about what is happening. You are also amazing for never giving up!

Hi Danielle
thanks for the reply

i dont really do much dairy
i do low fat milk into my coffee in my mornings no sugar..
and i do sometimes yogurt bowl for my second meal (by the book that comes with insanity)
and we do slice of low fat cheese on "cold cat plate" for our 4th meal
everything according the instruction by the book
now going to measure my body... just to see if there is difference in sizes emoticon)

thanks for your support

I am on month 2 and week 2 of insanity. I have not lost a lot of weight, but I have toned up and my clothes are looser. I try not to worry about the scale to much. I havent lost a lot of inches either, but I know i am building muscle because I am so much stronger and I can see it in my body. I actually gained weight, which was muscle. So dont give up and keep pushing play, it will eventually come off. Three weeks isnt a long time to see that much results. Like I said I am on month two, I bike 55+ miles and do P90X and I am not a size 2, lol. But I am not giving up.

I am/was not overweight, but I wanted to slim down and tone up, which is slowly happening. I felt the same way as you. Quitting was never an option. I said I comitted to the 63 days and that was that. I haven't missed a single workout although some of them have gone better then others. I felt I just had to trust in the process. Now I can't wait to take my after pics in a week and be able to really compare them side by side.

Mark I totally agree about looking for success. Even with my running I find I am always looking forward to where I want to be instead of looking back at how far I have come.

Let me preface my comments by saying, we're all different. But I have to agree with Danielle. I did P90x from Jan to Mar and lost about 6 lbs. I was on a high protein diet with limited carbs., but I didnt lose the weight I wanted. I changed my diet in April to 100% vegan, no meat, no dairy, no sweets, just fruit, veggies and water with vegan protein supplements. I did Insanity, running and P90x-(3x a week). I lost 13 lbs in one month. For me, it's all about the DIET and what I put in my mouth. The exercise is an important factor, but if my diet is off, I plateau. Hope this helps. Try a vegan diet for 30 days and let me know what happens. I don't count calories. I eat as much as I like.

Trust me girl, I feel the same way. I'm on week three as well and not only has my weight not changed, but it's gone UP! I know everyone says not to look at the scale, but I can't help it! I really hope things start changing. I've taken pictures and I don't see a difference at all...But I can feel myself getting stronger and that feels really good. emoticon

Keep it up! Even if your weight remains constant, at least you're doing something and getting stronger. Good luck!

When you start new exercises your muscles absorb water and hold it there for awhile which is why you don't see a difference in weight, or even see a weight gain. You shouldn't focus on the scale but more on your body measurements!

I'm really glad I came across this thread. In being a new member there are so many things going through my head about the possibilities and outcomes. But I can really appreciate the hard core honesty here. Thank you for being honest enough about how hard it ACTUALLY IS in losing weight. Mark...I am seriously considering printing out your post and keeping it with me at all times. Yeah, there's nothing like a "hang in there" comment but putting it like that puts everything into perspective. I'll even admit, even in not starting yet I have already given myself the "Oh, I'll do this in 30 days, and that in 60" not paying attention to the smaller hurdles which have kept me where I am today; giving up after a week, not getting through workouts, not changing my diet. I cannot wait to start INSANITY tomorrow! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. For us newbies it truly is motivation.

I am just now on my recovery week of insanity, and you are right the scale has not changed, but I have gone form a size 6 to a size 2! AND I am not using Shakeology either, I am just doing my own healthy meal plan. The first month you will usually gain, but the second is when the fat burns off. It'S A process but the second month you will see a crazy difference because if you watch the dvd's, they amp up alot! Just keep pushing through. You wont really notice the change on your body till you look at the before and after pics! I promise, it will work emoticon
