Hi, I'm Coach Jason and I am here to help you with your fitness journey. It is a journey we will take together, because I will be working out everyday with you. I will be doing Insanity, but no matter your program (Insanity, P90X, P90X2, BBL, TURBOFIRE, etc.), it does not matter. Because we are all here for the same reason. To get fit. To get healthier. To be everything we imagine of ourselves. I've learned a lot on my journey, and I am here to share it with you and guide you throughout your journey.

So ready to get started?
First step, post your commitment to join the team, and second, add me as a buddy and I'll give you more important information. I look forward to joining you on this journey!

ENGAGE AND LET’s DO THIS!!!!!!

First things first:

Nutrition
If you want to see great results, you have to focus on your nutrition as much as the workouts. Nutrition plays a key role in how you will reach your goals and attain the new and better you! Getting a solid nutrition plan in place prior to starting is key. Over time you will learn new eating habits that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

Shakeology is a great way to meet many of your nutritional needs! As a meal or a snack it fuels your body with everything it needs in order to BRING IT everyday!

Track your progress
Where are you now? Where do you want to be? Have Goals!

Nothing is more important or motivating than to see where you started and how you are progressing along the way! It is so CRUCIAL that you do the following BEFORE you begin:

Take your Measurements
Take your before & after pictures

Motivation
Nothing is more important than motivation. Times will get tough and there are going to be days that you feel like you cannot get up or you feel too tired at night to workout. This is where your Coach and this thread help out. By joining this thread you will find like minded people that will push you and look for help from you to be pushed. This is a 90 day program and it helps to have not just your Coach in your corner but a whole team ready to cheer you on and waiting for you to cheer them on.

Workouts
WARNING: The first few weeks are is rough but after you make it through them things get much better.

Too many people give up during the first few weeks because they think it is to tough. Everyone that has done any of these programs has had moments of doubt. Just KEEP PUSHING PLAY.

Pre-Workout
All the workouts are intense! You need the right fuel to “Bring It!” Your pre-workout meal actually begins the day before. So again, a solid nutrition plan is vital. A pre-workout meal about an hour before is important. Be warned: if you ENGAGE in a cardio workout too close to the pre-workout meal you may lose it.

If you workout first thing in the morning like myself, I advise a small snack (I like wheat toast with peanut butter).

Post-Workout
Recovery: After an intense P90X workout, it is vital to recover the right way. By adding a Recovery Drink immediately after your workout, you will significantly decrease the amount of soreness you will experience while your body recovers. Intense exercise will burn off glycogen stores in the muscles which leaves the body without its primary source of energy. You need to replace these glycogen stores immediately with a 4:1 ratio of quality, fast acting carbs and quality protein. Plus low blood sugar levels in the brain will lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, depression, etc.

The P90X Recovery Drink will replenish your muscles with glycogen, you will not only avoid muscle breakdown, but you will promote muscle growth and keep your energy levels up. I have used the recovery drink from day one and I highly recommend it.

Come to the thread every day and post your daily accountability and questions and before you know it you will be at 20, then 40 and finally 63 days.

This thread is a great way to meet like minded, motivated people that are going through exactly what you are going through. They will help you stay accountable and motivated, and you will keep them accountable and motivated! Everyone comes from different backgrounds and will be able to share tips and information that has helped them and could help you as well.

A little about me. I started my Beachbody journey almost a year ago. Two rounds of P90X, then one round of Insanity, and recently a round of P90X2, have gotten me in the best shape of my life.

Committing to your health can get you there also.

Decide. Commit. Succeed.

We will get you there. That baby will be walking before you know it and you will be chasing her around. My 6 yo loves to do the cardio work with me. She loves the jumping up and down. Home fitness is a great way to teach our kids about exercise. Before you know it your little one will be right along side of you challenging you and asking to go on those long hikes that you love.

Like I said before: pop in daily for motivation and support. You will have questions along the way and there is no better place than here. As the group grows, you will build relationships with others. You will care about their success and and them about yours. It really can be powerful.

Good to see you're getting another round of Insanity going. I'm doing a P90X/Insanity/X2 hybrid right now and I feel like the workouts are complimenting each other very well. I look forward to seeing how this group progresses!

Welcome to the team. Like I told you before, come here daily for motivation, support, and good times.

Army dog? Did my stint from 88-92. I was in the best shape of my life back then until now. The new/old me could woop that young bull.

I'm no truck driver but I understand working out of the car. I spend 6-8 hours a day in mine sometimes. I pack a HUGE lunch box to keep the demons (fast food) away.

Talk more later and pp2d

Hey Jason- Thanks for responding to my initial post. Here is my last response. Thoughts anyone?

So, I initially weighed myself before the fit test. It's been one day of healthy eating and the first cardio circuit workout. I gained three pounds as of this morning! WTF!!! Since I'm positive I didn't eat 10,000 calories, I'm assuming it's water weight! Yikes. I think I'm going to put away the scale for a week.

How often does your weight fluctuate?

My BMR tells me that I should eat about 1600 cals a day. So, with the insanity workout, I am burning 400-500 cals. I've been eating about 1800. Does this sound right? I used the formula. I think I am supposed to be netting about 1300.

Welcome.

No, you did not gain three lbs of fat so ignore the WTF moment. Likely water retention at this point. Your body is responding to the kick in the pants you just gave it and is retaining more so it can rebuild. No worries. Keep pushing play.

If the scale does not freak you out with these odd changes, it is okay to weigh daily. If it does freak you out, weigh once every 1-2 weeks.

1800 is likely correct. Send me your age, height and weight and I will zero you in and explain the breakdown further.

As always,

pp2d

Off to go take the fit test. I'll post it later. After the test I am off to work. I'll do a heavy chest day in the work gym prior to working. With Insanity, I will keep those heavy chest days in once per week. I have really noticed some good growth the past month I have been doing it.

Until later.

I started insanity with my fit test yesterday! I'm always looking for ways to get motivated. I recently discovered that I'm not in good enough shape to do insanity the traditional way, but I REFUSE TO QUIT! I have a bad history of giving up, and I'm not letting it happen again. I'm just figuring out a way to make insanity work for me, and still push myself as hard as I can go, and maybe a little harder. Thanks so much! emoticon

Hey CoachJason, i'd like to join this board if you wouldn't mind. I just finished a round of Insanity last week and started up another round yesterday. This will be my third round of Insanity overall. I had great results from the round I just finished and am looking forward to killing it again this round!

Hello Coach Jason,

I am doing insanity again for the second time. I loved it the first go around, but wasn't eating like I should and now I'm working on that to improve my workouts as well as me mentally, and physicallly. always looking for more positive motivation and just to chat with like minded individuals who are on their journey to get fit.

Push Play everyone and hope to hear from you all soon.
