Welcome Everyone!

We are a group of friends who met here on the boards. In the fall of '07 we all did THE X. We loved KenpoX. Doing it made us feel like Charlie's Angels and that's what the angel thing is all about!

You are more than welcome to join us! Stop by for motivation, answers to questions and laughs.

Today was my first day of P90X! I was really wondering what this workout was going to do to me! I kept hearing how tough it was. And then there are all those unbelievable before and after shots of those who have completed the program. I was a little nervous.

Happy to say I made it through Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X pretty well! I was completely "cooked" when I finished, but I guess that's the point.

I think I'm really going to like this workout! I'm also following the nutrition plan. It's heavy on protein and pretty light on veggies/fruit/carbs for the beginning phase. It's going to be different, but I'm sticking to it!

Have a great day, everyone!

Betty is tackling the X. WOW, you are a brave lady. emoticon

You'll soon realize why you needed to wait (as in starting back in April) emoticon

Keep us posted on how the meal plan works. It IS key to optimum success with the X. When I did it, couldn't follow it.

Day 2 of my X journey. I can't begin to tell you all how much I'm loving P90X!!

Today was Plyometrics. What a great workout. Heart rate was up throughout. I was able to hang in there for all of it. I also did well on the eating yesterday. This nutrition plan is more protein than I usually eat and fewer carbs, but I felt great all day and didn't suffer any hunger pangs.

Have a great day everyone and thanks for checking in!

Keep crushing play,
Betty

Betty, WOW, Plyo on Day 2. The "mother of all workouts" and its in the first week. You did great if you kept up.

The extra protein will keep you from getting hungry. When you take in less carbs it forces your body to burn fat for energy too.

You're going to be a lean mean X'n machine.

Hey Betty,

I thought I was doing good with Masters Plyo Legs! I can't imagine the "X". I will be there someday...hopefully soon.

Glad to hear the hunger pangs weren't there. Seems like I have them no matter what I eat.

I know you have the determination to get the job done.

Hi Betsy and Darlene,

It's great to see you both here. Thanks for stopping by!

I am really loving P90X. It is much more structured than I thought. It comes with a large 8.5 x 11 Fitness Guide (about 100 pgs). It describes each exercise of all 12 workouts in detail. Also contains info on conducting the fit test you do before and after the 90 days, calendar to chart your workouts, etc.

You also get a Nutrition Plan book (more than 100 pgs) which contains the eating plan (3 phases, just like the workout) and recipies.

This sounds like a lot but it's surprisingly easy to follow!

I don't have P90 Master Series, I just did level 3-4 but I see some of P90 in the X workouts. The setting is 1,000 times "glitzier". (I say glitzy, but it actually looks like an old garage converted to a gym. Kind of cool grunge if you know what I mean! emoticon )

The only drawback is that most of the workouts are right around an hour long. The Yoga (I've yet to do it) is a little over 90 minutes! Darlene, I know you like your workouts a little shorter and I always did too, but once you get in the habit of going longer it feels about right. There are a lot of short breaks which makes the time go quicker.

Have a great day, I'll check in with you later!

Hey Betty,
I know what you mean about the workout times. However, you would be proud of me. The Master workouts are between 45 mins and 55 mins. So, yes, I am getting used to them. They seem to fly by. I know, Darlene is saying "fly by"?

I did finish the 90 days, so what I'm doing is pulled my TJ into the mix and use P90M for the sculpting and TJ for the cardio. I did CP Remix and Ab Ripper 200 this evening. My heartrate is up there with P90M for the cardio workouts, but the TJ is different enough to have me sweating when I'm done. So, that's a good thing.

Did you mention that you have CP3 or 2? I was wanting different music. Are the CP's the same moves, just intensified? Just curious.

I have been saving up to go ahead and pickup P90x sometime after vacation. Figured I could get by with my PHH's while on the road. We got a pull behind trailer for behind the motorcycle, so I've got room to haul the laptop with us. I said something about taking some weights, but hubby kinda nixed that one. Guess I could dig out the bands I have.

I really don't want to just depend upon walking, because I don't feel like I'm getting a heavy duty workout. When that happens, then I give myself full throttle to eat and just not exercise. I always have to have a game plan.

We go with another couple and she's also a lifetimer with WW, so we keep each other in check. That helps alot.

Anyway, just got to babbling, but was thinking about you! Take Care

Darlene

Hey Darlene,

Great to hear from you!

I am so proud of you..nearing the hour mark on your workouts!! It is just a psychological barrier you have to break through a few times and then suddenly a 30 mn workout doesn't seem like enough, does it?

The CP2 is more similar to CP1. They must have been filmed at the same time. I like the music a lot and it has similar moves to CP1 but all are put together differently than in "1". CP3 is longer and it seems to be the most intense of the 3. I'm using my "sweat meter" to measure intensity here. emoticon It would be difficult to chose between CP2 and CP3 because I like 2 more (routine/music) but I think I get more of a workout from 3(sweat).

You are dedicated planning your vacation workouts! I know what you mean, though, because you work so hard and you don't want to backslide while you're away from home. It's great you have your WW friend with you!

When do you go on vaca? How are things going at work?

Keep up the great work!!

Oh Betty,http://forums.milliondollarbody.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&f=831103293&m=236102529
GO TIME! BettyBech's Coaching Thread
I read your comments between CP 2 and CP 3 and I'm back to square one! I need the sweat intensity, but CP2 sounds great too. Maybe I'll just flip a coin.

You're right on the 30 min workouts. I feel like I'm cheating or something.

We are heading out the 31st for a little over a week. Last year we went up through Strugis and over to Yellowstone, the Titons and Mt. Rushmore. This year we are going down by Durango, CO to a rally, then up to Moab, UT and down along the south rim of the Grand Canyon. When we're done goofing off and head over Debra's way in Texas and back up to Kansas.

Work, is still work. I have just resigned myself after 25 years to the fact that things will change and I have to remember to stay in my area and keep quiet.

Hey, I was going to ask you. Everything I have for workouts (PHH, P90M and TJ) don't reference a rest week. What does that mean. Do you do other things during that week and what is the purpose?

I mowed when I got home tonight and then did UML. I'm beat. Waiting for DH to call yet. He will be home tomorrow evening though.

Hey, Cody just got home, so I suppose I'll see how football practice was tonight. They start school next Monday. My baby is a Senior!

I'll catch up with you tomorrow!

Darlene
