RE:TRYING HARD TO BE FIT AND TRIM FOR LIFE! AND SUCCEEDING!
10/17/08 4:25 PM as a reply to tbbuser.
Hi My name is Susan. I have been working out with Beach Body workouts since 4/9/07 and have been having a blast ever since.

I started out with Turbo Jam, which was way too fun, and lost more pounds with that than with running and ball routines.

After I did that for weeks, I did SI6. I completed that and knew I was ready for something much more challening.

I ordered P90X. Ahhhhh now this is the ticket. emoticon. I got it on a Tuesday, and could not wait to get started. So I started Wednsday morning, just knowing that I would only do a few days and really start my round on Monday morning (I like my rest day on Sunday).

After that first few days my husband watched the workouts and decided for the first time in over 30 years that this was something that maybe he would like to do.

I had been changing my eating during those months before, and he committed to that also. How amazing is that for a man that said NEVER!!

So both of us started this wonderful program, with clean eating, portion control. We have had wonderful results.

We finished our first round on 9/29/07 and started another round two days later. We both know that we have a long way to go, but we have also come a long way.

We both eat clean, workout every day of the week. On our rest days I do EIFB, and he gets on the bike for at least 30 min.

We are totally committed to our new lifestyle. He feels better, I feel better. And by gosh we look better emoticon

I will post our results first, then some photos of way before.

Welcome to everyone emoticon We ARE GOING TO BRING IT AGAIN!! emoticon Please Join us in our Journey, we can all do this together.

Susan

I personally dont see allot of change here on the day 1 to 90. But others seem to see it. I know that I went down in my size pants from a 10 to a very loose 8. And inces in the waist and hips went down. So I guess something happen emoticon

But now I must post a photo of where I really started at the first of the year. YUCK OH!! But this is what I was like, In a really tight 12 before all beach body workouts. Now here is the thing. When this photo was taken, I had already been working out for 3 months, Walking/Running and doing exercise ball workouts. I only lost 4 pounds in that 3 months. Anyway this was the beginning of BB..

Now for my husband, which I just happen to be so very proud of. There are just no words out there to express what I feel about what he has pulled off in 90 days. He keeps thanking me...I keep telling him... he was strong. Yes I pack his food, make his dinners, and steer him in the right direction. But he did all the hard work. He cold have easiley thrown my lunch away and went out and got those two quarter pounders with cheese, and a large onion rings (used to be normal lunch). He could have easiley told me I am too sore, too tired, or just plain out don't want to push play. But that never happen. He stuck to it, and the longer he stuck to it, the better he felt. He used to snore so bad I would have to leave the room, shut the door, but I could still hear it.

Any way the first photo is of him in 2005 on vacation to THE BEACH emoticon my fav. place in the world. After he saw this photo he knew he had to do something... but still at this point unwilling to exercise or really diet...he cut out all sweets, all sodas, and all after dinner snacking. In this photo he was topping the scale at 245-255.

So now we start at the good stuff emoticon

When he started out with the X, he weighed in at 229, and was holding the weight in the bad place, his waist. That is what they say is damaging to our health. He stuck to the program, ate clean, Now here are his results. He lost a total of 36 pounds in 90 days.

Im so proud of you Baby!!! I could just burst!

I saw the back of this guy out on the field, and thought to myself, WHO IS THAT OUT THEIR???? I looked again, It was my husband emoticon.

I guess I am so used to seeing him bigger, that at first glance my brain just did not register who it was emoticon

Well I hope everyone is hanging in there. Because I know we are emoticon Wonderful YOGA tomorrow. We will both be up at 4:30 in the morning, Him for Yoga, me for EIFB on the bike.

Big Hugs to my Wonderful MDB comunityemoticon

Wow. You two have had some awesome results. Your husband is looking great, and is literally adding years to his life by doing this.

And Susan? You look like one of those women in the fitness competitions on TV. Remarkable.

Congratulations and keep up the good work.

Ok so I got up this morning at 4:30, and after a cup of coffee, got on the bike for my 22 min EIFB. An hour later had a wonderful clean breakfast of blueberry pancakes made with oatmeal. Once my son was off to school the scheduled Yoga got done. emoticon

Eating has been wonderful, and workouts great emoticon Legs & Back tomorrow, one of my fav workouts any more emoticon

I came across this in my e-mail box this morning I am going to post. Maybe It will help someone out there. I know I used to think this way allot the beginning of the year. Im really glad that I changed my thoughts emoticon

Retrain Your Brain
Changing your attitude means changing your "self-talk" or internal monologue. Self-talk is the chattering conversation you have with yourself all day long, whether you are aware of it or not. It's the voice in your head that says, "I'm too fat" or "I'm not good enough!" I don't need to go on, do I? You know what I'm talking about — these are the kind of thoughts that hold us back!
Guess what? This is the kind of useless negativity that's keeping you from being the best that you can be. It's time to turn it around once and for all. You need to retrain yourself to think positively!

Imagine what would happen if you changed the dialogue so that it sounded more like this: "I can lose weight and be healthy, exercise to the best of my ability, and get stronger and better at it every time I do it." Your self-talk can mean the difference between happiness and despair, and success and failure. If you start making your self-talk more positive and affirming — and less defeatist and self-depreciating — your whole life will change for the better.

LOL....Nope it does not get any easier. We have increased all weights and of course trying to do more pushups, chair dips, ect. ect. ect. I think if you do the program corectley, by bringing it to every single workout It never will get any easier.

Do you find though that after a recovery week it seems way hard? We both find that those first few days after a recovery week are rough. We thank god for that darn recovery drink emoticon

Well my day is just about finished, but I wanted to post something that I found today that really struck me as so true. And one more photo of one of my arms.

"Nobody trips over mountains.
It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain."

Have a good night all emoticon
