Hi everyone!!

I’m Kim, 38 (soon to be 39 in March) years old, married 6 years to my best friend. I’m mom to one adorable but busy 4 year old son, we are trying for number 2 but it is slow going. I work full time as an HR manager for a large manufacturing firm here in N.E. Ohio. The only spare time I get to workout is in the mornings so I'm up at 4:30 working my heart out.

I have been up and down with my weight since jr. high school. Crash dieting kept me thin through h.s. and college (although I thought I was huge at the time weighing in at 130 lbs - I'm 5'7). The last 4 years I have been really lax about my weight and health in general. After having my son, I was at my highest weight of 230 lbs. And I knew I needed to do something. July 2002 I got serious and I started eating sensibly and incorporating regular exercise into my day. I started off with 20 minutes a day and worked my way up to 45-60 minutes a day. I started off working out with Leslie Sansone, Donna Richardson, Tamilee Webb, Joyce Vedral and the Firm. I had limited success and got my weight down to 186. I wanted a jump start and I found Slim in 6 in Aug. 2004. With SI6 I got down to 177. The last few months, I have not paid attention to my eating and have managed to put on 15 lbs. But they have been dropping off thanks to turbo jam. I can not describe how much I love these workouts. I have the whole deluxe package and I just got the two new DVD’s. I tell everyone about these workouts!!!

I want to keep myself accountable to eating healthy and working out through this journal. Looking forward to chatting with others as I take this journey.

Hello everyone!!

I started my turbo jam rotation yesterday. I had made a new year's resolution to concentrate on toning and strengthening one section of my body per quarter of the year. So until March I'm concentrating on my abs, and I'm adding ab workouts onto whatever workout I do. Along with this until March I'm trying something new I read about. I trying to use the principles from the book "escape your shape" in my workouts. According to this book, my shape being an hourglass benefits more from losing fat first then toning, due to the fact that I put on muscle easily. So, I'm going to be doing mostly hi rep low weights for the next few months and see how that works for me.

DH and DS got up and worked out with me this morning too, they really liked jamming.

I'll be back to post my workout for today and the rest of my rotation.

Hi Kim. I've been on that same roller coaster w/my weight. I'm 5'3" and turning 50 in Feb emoticon but I feel like I'm still in my 30's. I have one incredible son, 16 going on 30 LOL. I weighed 189 full term, managed to lose about 25 lbs over several yrs. In 1999, I quit smoking emoticon and gained 15 lbs emoticon . Then in 2004, after emergency abdominal surgery plus a hysterectomy, I gained 20 more lbs. Between BB (Sin6, P90, etc.) and other programs, I got down to 164, then started gaining again. I work at home on the computer way too many hours, so my activity level is almost 0 except when I exercise. I just started TJ several days ago and LOVE it!!

You mentioned 2 new DVDs. I guess I have the new ones, are there others? If so, I'd love to get them. I have bad knees, so its been hard to find a workout I can stick with. I love that Charlene has low impact versions I can follow and still have fun. I can't believe AnnaRita lost 70+ lbs keeping her feet on the ground. Wow. I can't wait to jam everyday now. I usually workout in the morning and then in the evening if I can fit it in.

When I started TJ, I weighed 172. I've lost 1/2" in my waist and 1.5 lbs in just a few days. Totally unbelievable. I'm staying away from the scales for awhile because I know muscle weighs more & I don't want to get discouraged if I don't lose lbs or go up. So I'm taking measurements once a week. I'm more of an apple shape I think. My main bulk is between my neck and my hips. I'll have to get a copy of that book and find out what my best sculpting approach should be.

Anyway, I've been hoping to find someone that is totally dedicated and energetic. I would love to join you in your qwest to get in shape. And congrats on losing! Your 2004/2005 pic is incredible!

Congrats on quitting smoking, everyone I know that quits gains some weight. If I worked at home I would be huge, just so much temptation.

The two new DVD's are - Cardio Remix and Booty Sculpt. The original package included - learn and burn, 20 minute TJ, Ab jam, Cardio party, Cardio party 2, lower body sculpt and turbo sculpt. Isn't jamming addicting, I also like that she has the low impact options, I figure if DH and I succeed in getting pregnant I can use TJ through my whole pregnancy with the low impact option.

Measurements are the best way to go, great job on the inches lost, that is fantastic!! Please keep me posted I would love to do this fitness journey with you.

Hi Ladies. Congrats on the weight that you've lost so far, and keep up the good work. I just received my TJ order today, and I cannot wait to get started in the morning. I hope that TJ is the answer for me because at 42 years old, I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever feel healthy again. I'm married and I'm the mom of 3 very busy boys (16, 15, and 5). I also work outside of the home. Even though it may require getting up earlier in the morning, I'm willing to make the sacrifice for my health. Plus, we're going to South America to visit my in-laws in August, and I don't want to be carrying all this weight with me. I check in tomorrow and see how you'll are doing.

Kim - thanks for the info. I didn't think I could have children, so my son is very special to me. I hope you and DH are successful. Kids are such wonderful gifts.

The TJ that I ordered from BB came with Learn&Burn, Turbo Sculpt, 20 Min Workout, Ab Jam and Cardio Party. Where did you order the Cardio Remix, Booty Sculpt, Lower Body sculpt and Cardio Party 2? Am I just not seeing it on the BB website? emoticon

Turbomama. Sometimes I feel the same way. This age thing is for the birds. emoticon But, hey, you've taken a step towards an incredible new way of life. TJ makes me feel young & energetic. Its a little tough to keep up w/at first, but don't give up. Have fun & keep moving. You'll get better each time. So, congrats on taking this first step. I just know you're going to love it.

Good morning everyone!!

Man, working out in the morning really gets the blood pumping. I did Cardio party 2 and ab jam this morning.

Turbomama - First, you are 42 year young emoticon. My mom is 63 and just started adding weight and aerobics to her walking workouts and she is looking amazing. Wow, 3 boys I can't imagine, my one 4 year old is busy enough - whew! You probably get another workout just taking care of everyone. I work outside the home also and find that the best time for me to workout is first thing in the morning, I get it done and I don't have to worry about fitting it in later when I maybe too tired. You can make your goals and we will be here to cheer you on. We will be looking for you to check in today.

Cactusflower - I agree kids are a blessing my ds has taught me so much more than I have him, it is amazing. He is wanting a brother or sister so badly, I'm sure we will be blessed with another soon.

To order CP2 and lower body mix, go the the beachbody home page, at the top you will see a drop box that says - choose a product. Click on that and go down to the choice that says upgrade packages, click on that. For the other DVD's I used the customer service link and did a live chat. They were very helpful. Hope that helps, let me know if you have problems.

Hey Kim,

I see you every morning on WOWY! So your birthday is in March...I will be 41 on March 5th. What day is your birthday?

I am married and the mom of 2 teenage boys - 15 and the other will be 18 in 2 weeks. I can't believe they are that age already...it goes so fast!

I am 5'3" and weighed 200 pounds when I started TJ on Jan. 1st. I have lost 10 pounds so far. I am going to check my measurements on Feb 1st, after I have completed my first 30 days - I figured that the results would be better and more motivating!

Well, I better get ready for work! I will see you on WOWY tomorrow!

Hello all. May I join you? I started my TJ yesterday so today was day two. How awesome! I am confident that this program will keep me motivated.

I will turn 40 in July. I want to start my 40s with a smile knowing that I am in the best shape ever. I am married and have two boys (6.5 and 4 years).

Kim, I too am an early morning exerciser. I also work out at 4:30. Please know that I will be sending good thoughts your way and also know that you are not the only one up at that hour. I question myself many days when that alarm goes off but it is the only time I can get it in. However, now with TB hopefully it won't be such a struggle to get up. I want to get up and Jam!!

I too will be looking into the other videos that you mentioned. I thought I had gotten the deluxe package but I do not have the Cardio Remix and Booty Sculpt.

Gena I have enjoyed wowying with you in the mornings. Knowing someone else is up and waiting to workout with me always gets me up in the mornings. My birthday is March 3rd. I'll be 39 - wow, how did time pass so fast emoticon Congrats on the 10 lbs, that is great, you are WORKING IT!!!! Let us know how your measurements turn out, I bet you have lost a ton of inches, how could you not with all the "shake and shed" going on emoticon. Cya in the morning.

ReneePlease join us, TJ will definately keep you motivated. I have about 60 workout DVD's and all the rest have been gathering dust since I got TJ. You are another busy mom, my ds is 4 I can't imagine having a 6 year old too. You must answer why, mommie questions all day emoticon. Have you signed up for wowy yet, you should if you haven't, there are alot of us early morning exercisers on, it is fun to see who else is up before the break of dawn.

turbomamaI used to be really embarrased to workout in front of dh because he would tease me. But I finally challenged him to try to keep up with me one day, and he couldn't do 5 min. since then he doesn't laugh when I workout and occasionally joins in. What kind of shape is your husband in? Do you think you could get him to join you?

Welcome aboard Renee...always good to have another morning exerciser. I also workout at 4:30 every morning with Kim. Maybe I will see you on WOWY. If not, I will send jammin vibes your way in the AM.

Turbomama...I don't like to exercise in front of anyone. Maybe because I don't feel like I look very coordinated and...maybe because this is my time "for me" and they tend to pull me away from it if they are there. I think it is normal to be embarrassed cuz we all aren't happy with how we look! But that will change real soon if we keep pushing play!

Kim...March 3rd, huh. Well we will just have to see how much weight we can each lose by our birthdays and then we can celebrate birthdays together! Great working out with you everyday...knowing you will be there keeps me accountable!

Good morning all! Today is day three and I completed Cardio Party. I felt rather awkward at times but I know that I will get better the more I do the workout. I'll admit I struggled getting up this morning but was so anxious to see what this workout was like it motivated me to get up. Hopefully soon I will see some body changes and that will be another motivator to these early morning workouts.

As far as eating...I am following Weight Watchers. I hope that this with TJ will give me the results that I want. Do any of you do the Protein Shakes that BB offers? I am wondering if I should add this to my eating plan. Just curious what your thoughts/experiences are.

Gena Great to see you this morning. Yep, our Birthdays would be a good time to see what TJ has done for u.

Renee You did the hardest part by getting out of bed. I think we all feel awkard at times doing the moves. I'm glad I don't have a mirror in the living room, cause I can imagine I look just like they do on the DVD. But if I had a mirror I would see the awful truth emoticon. I have not tried the BB protien shakes but I do drink the shakes. I bought protien powder at GNC and mix with fruit, soy milk or yogurt. It makes a great snack or after workout refueling.

Happy Wednesday Kim. Thanks for the info on the other workout DVDs. I had to take a day off for my knees. Overdid it on Turbo Sculpt. But they feel great today. Can't wait to jam!

Turbomama My husband laughs at me no matter what, so I just ignore him. My son on the other hand helps critique my moves which I love. He watches the workout and catches things I don't see. Maybe you can ask your husband to help you with the moves?
Gena Wow, congrats on losing 10. I have a small herd of 4-legged kids that have to be fed and walked first thing, so I can't workout til mid-morning. I guess thats a bit of a workout in itself. emoticon
Renee Congrats on day 3! I do the same as Kim, buy protein powder at the health food store for my shakes. You can also sprinkle it on oatmeal if you want something warm.
Tamar I have the dreaded jigglies too. Keep jammin and we'll be rid of them forever. emoticon
Race Good for you! I'd have to get up at 3:30 (AZ time) to WOWY w/the morning crew. I'd be a jammin' zombie at that hour. LOL
