Hi Michelle! You look fabulous. Congrats on your loss so far. I have also had success with SI6, but have about 30 more pounds to lose. I was thinking of starting my own thread when I found yours, so here I am. Yesterday, I realized that there are 6 weeks until 2005. What better way to spend those 6 weeks than with SI6? So, I am doing the 2 day fast over the weekend and starting again on Monday, Nov 22.

Like you, I tried P90, did NOT like it, and went back to SI6. I really like the routine, but I need all of the support I can get. I look forward to the next steps on this journey.

Jess...Hi and welcome!! I am looking forward to our journey together. I know that you and I can push each other to stay motivated!!

Aargh! Six weeks until 2005?? I need to get my rear in gear and loss some inches and pounds!! I vow that I am not going to over eat during the holidays!! You can hold me to that!!

I am going to be doing the Slim Series until the end of the year. I really like those workouts. I haven't lost a lot of weight, but I am shrinking and that's a good thing.

I have struggled this past month and a half with allergies and broncitus. Finally, they are gone and I can get back on track and kick it up a notch!!

I gained a lot of weight being sick. The anitbiotic I was on had many side effects and one of them was gaining weight. Nice, huh? Anyway, I was at 171 when I got sick then I jumped to 184.5 in about a week. Now, I am down to 174.5. It's so frustrating working so hard then having a lapse like that. Oh well, I am past it and ready to get into the 160's. Hopefully, that will be soon so I will have some new found motivation on my side!!

Boy, I sure can rattle on at times. Sorry about that!!

Thanks for the compliments. I love to hear them!! Don't we all??

My original goal was 135 since that was how much I weighed when I got pregnant. I really want to be back at 125!! I'd be doing back flips at that weight!! So, I have about 40 to lose, but really I want to lose 50 more.

I'll talk to you later. Let me know if you need help with any thing: menus, a kick in the rear, etc...

Michelle,

I'm right there with you on being sick and gaining weight from it. I've had a bad cold since the end of October, had zero energy, and it seemed the only thing that made me feel better was eating! Then I flew across the country to Chicago for a week and came back even more sick. But, I'm finally getting back on the exercise and feeling better. It is amazing how fast I can loose endurance. I was flying through Burn it Up for weeks, then 2 weeks later I'm huffing and puffing through Ramp it Up! I figure by Monday, I'll be ready for a full round of the Burn. emoticon

I thought that I was the only one that could gain weight really fast, so thanks for sharing your struggles. I was at 143 at the end of October, which was down from my heaviest of 164. I have been afraid to get on the scale, but finally did this morning and I'm at 147. A bit discouraging that I put on some pounds, but judging from how I feel, I thought I put on more than that! But, I'm right there with you on getting these extra pounds off from being sick! It won't take long for us to sweat 'em away.

So, I am interested in hearing more about Slim Series. I will probably order that for some variety. How do the workouts compare with Burn it Up? Harder, easier, the same?

I haven't started a homepage on the BB site yet, mostly because I have been avoiding cameras since I gained my weight! I was at 115 a couple of years ago (I'm about 5'6"). But, that is on my list of things to do over Thanksgiving break, so I'll let you know when my page is up.

As you can see, I have a tendency to ramble on as well emoticon Thanks for the support so far . . . Let's do this! Our beach bodies will be the best Christmas present we could ever give ourselves!

For those of you that are stopping by and checking us out...post!! I would love to hear from you or answer any questions you may have or both!! I'll be posting all about the Slim Series a little later so be sure to check that out if you are thinking about purchasing it!!

Jess...I just posted a long post to one of the newbie groups all about the SS. Once it gets approved and posted I'll copy and paste it here for you!! It lays it all out.

Debbie doesn't do any thing easy!! So, I'll have to tell you the truth and tell you that the SS is harder than BIU!

Sharing stuggles is the best part of it! At least I think so. Just knowing that I'm not the only one stuggling really helps me to keep going!!

WOW! 5'6" and 115 pounds? Are you really small framed. Heck, I'm 5'4" and I am very very slender at 125. Any less than that I look like I starve myself to death.

I've been there and done that reguarding the loss of endurance. It is easy to lose. Did it once when I got sick. I didn't workout for 17 days and I felt like I was starting all over. That's why I workout like I'm suppose to. I don't like taking steps back!! Especially since I have been so focused and committed for so long. It seems like forever, but it's only been since May of 2003.

Whitney...I am every where aren't I?? I keep thinking that I have too much going on then I make more threads!! I really do like helping people. Makes me feel good inside!! And I love the adult conversation after spending all day every day with my two year old. She's talking better, but not complete sentences very often.

Thanks for your kind words!! You are great and motivating as well!! I'm glad that we've become such good BB friends!!

Stop by any time!! You are always welcomed!!

Every thing you ever wanted to know about the Slim Series and more!

First of all, for those of you wondering if you should go to P90 or not. Well, if you are at or close to your goal then P90 could be the right choice for you. However, if you are loving your fast SI6 results then you should choose to do another round and kick it up a notch or move on to Keep It Up or the Slim Series.

I own all of the tapes above so I am speaking from experience. P90 is more about bulking up while the SI6, SS and KIU are all about slimming and losing fast. Debbie's workouts are going to get you at your goal much faster.

I loved the P90 workouts because they are shorter, but I hated the results. In one month I gained 13 pounds so I quit and went back to Debbie and had to lose that 13 pounds again. I didn't like that gain. It really got me stressed out and depressed.

I have been on my weight loss journey since May of 2003 so set backs like that aren't good for me. I have been focused and committed to being healthy for too long to quit!!

Okay, I hope that helped with your choice. Now, I am going to try to fill you in a little on the SS!! I really think you are going to like what you here.

First, KIU is the original SI6 maintenance workout. It is only 40 minutes. No abs in this workout, but Debbie says if you have any thing left that you should pop in S&6P. This workout is only 20 minutes of cardio, but I gaurantee that you'll be sweatin' like crazy when it's over!!

The Slim Series are long, but effective workouts. I believe the shortest one is 60 minutes and the longest are 78 minutes.

There are several different programs you can choose from once you do the SS. The is the recovery week, the maintenance program (once you are at your goal), the torso-toning program, the lower body program, the split routine, the I bought al the videos and dang it I'm gonna use 'em all routine and the slim training program (my personal choice).

The videos:

Tone It Up! This is a full body toning workout with light weights.

Firm It Up! Targeted lower-body workout. Your legs will feel like noodles after this intense workout!! At least mine do.

Shape It Up! Weight circuit routine for body shaping!! This is one of the 78 minutes ones, but it doesn't seem like it's that long!!

Mix It Up! Break the plateau with resistance and cardio!! Another of my favorites!!

Tear It Up!! An hour long full body blast!! This is the hardest workout in my opinion. Debbie really pushes you to the max!! Tons of challenging moves! You'll be sweatin' your butt off when you are done with this 78 minute workout.

Cool It Off! A relaxing, recovery workout. I'd call it S&L times four with a major caffiene rush!! This is the first stretch routine that I have ever done that made my muscles feel stretched and worked the next day! You'll love it!! The whole hour or so of it!!

The SS is more like P90...at least I think so. The only thing that I would add to that is that you will see much faster results with the SS verses P90. You use a lot of hand weights so you'll need some 3 and 5 pound ones for sure. 8 pounds when you get your endurance built up.

Okay, I really can't think of any thing else to tell you guys!! I hope I covered every thing!! However, if you have any questions you ask them and I'll answer them.

I'll check back soon!! Good luck to you guys and congrats on getting this far with SI6!! I am so proud of you.

Some thing else. If SI6 is still challenging for you then do another round of it! As long as it challenges you you will see results!! Heck, I did three rounds before moving on!! And I got amazing results with each round!!

Michelle,

Thanks so much for all of the info on SS! That is going to be my Christmas present to myself emoticon

I know what you mean about taking backwards steps on this journey. I feel like I lose weight in chunks of time (like 10 or so pounds in 6 weeks), then if I take any time off, I gain a bit back. It's like going down 10 steps on a flight of stairs and then walking up 4. If I never walked up any steps, I would have been at my goal long ago!

So, today is the first day of my fast, which is definitely the hardest for me. I know that when I get through today, tomorrow will be much easier. I love the benefits from fasting. It really does set you up for weight loss.

I'll be back when I feel like eating later! I'm off to juice my lunch emoticon

Hi Michelle, you posted on our Oct. Newbie site, I left you a question there but maybe it's faster to ask you here. With Slim Series is it organized as a program or are you on your own and just picking a tape any tape? If it is a program how long does it take?

I started Si6 Oct. 11'04. Technically I'm supposed to be finished this week. But I had a really bad week. Zero energy, dragging myself around. After reading some threads I think I was overtraining. I thought the more the merrier so I was doing BiU and S&6pack every day. I've read this week that it's a bad idea to do S&6pack every day. I was just going for the ultimate results but I think I must have sabatoged it. Anyway, I did S&L and S&6pack just about every day this week and I'm going to go back to BiU next week. I want to finish up with a bang.

I lost 13 lbs. so far and 3 inches off my chest, 4 inches off my waist and 4 inches off my hips. and 3 inches off my thighs. I'm pretty happy to see results but I have a long way to go.

I had originally assumed that I would just do Si6 till I was at my ideal weight. I didn't realize you were supposed to take a break. Also, after a few weeks of BiU I realized I wouldn't be able to handle doing BiU every day for the rest of my life. My pals on the Oct. thread were talking about doing P90 in January so I thought I might join in, but after your post I'm having serious second thoughts. Couple more questions. How long are you supposed to take off inbetween rounds of Si6? What do you do during the break to maintain your weight? When you start up again do you go right back to SiU or do you return to BiU?

I requested a coach when I first joined but who ever she was she never replied. This is cool that you set up this thread, makes it easier to ask questions.

I have a web page but I'm no good at links.

Thanks for your help, Kristl

Jess...Good luck with the fast!! I know you are strong and you are going to be successful`. Let me know how it goes.

You are so welcomed for the information about the SS!! Let me know if you need any thing else.

Kristl...The Slim Series has serveral different programs you can choose from. I do the Slim Training one most of the time and it uses all the tapes except for Keep It Up.

You do which ever one you think you need to do. And the programs are set up for four or six weeks.

It only sounds like you were over doing it on the abs. You can do abs every day, but the abs in the workout and the abs in S&6P is an over kill. Your abs recover quickly, but too much isn't good.

Your results are awesome!! I am super proud of you!! Be sure to let me know when you post your end results and pics. I can't wait to see them.

If you have a lot of weight to lose and want to lose it fast...don't do the P90. It's a great program, but you don't see the fast results like you do with SI6 and the SS.

You should rest for one week. You can still workout just take a break from SI6. It is such an intense workout that you need to let your body recover. On my rest week I usually walk for 30-60 minutes a day on my treadmill or outside (depends on the weather and my little one).

You can ease your way back into it and start with SIU if you want to. I did the second time, but not the third time I did it. You'll get a lot of different advice on this, but this is what I would do if I were you. I would start off alternating RIU and BIU each day so you won't burn out. Then the last week kick it up and do BIU and the 6DE to get maximum results.

Don't feel bad. I'm probably the worst coach when it comes to helping do the cool stuff. I'm just learning as I go. Let me know if you need any thing! I am here for you and sorry your started coach didn't help you.

Michelle,

You are a fantastic coach! Some of the best teachers are those that are just learning themselves, going through the same struggles as their students. It is obvious you really care about helping people. It is so much appreciated!

My fast is going great so far. I was really busy yesterday, so the day went fast. My strategy for today is to keep busy again so that I don't think about food emoticon This morning, I weighed in at 143.8 - about 3 pounds lighter than when I started! I know that is from losing water weight rather than fat, but it is very inspiring! I really feel like I can get down into the 130's during this round of SI6. 2005 here I come!

Slim Series sounds like the perfect next step for me. I'm going to order it soon so that I'll have it when I'm done with this round.

Jess...I'm so proud of you for surviving the fast. It's hard and it sounds like you made it throught with flying colors!! What was the total pounds lost??

Focus, eat right, push play and drink your water and is very very possible!!

Don't get down at first if you gain!! You are gaining muscles and that does make the scale go up, but muscle burns fat!! I would suggest not weighing every day or very often at all!! In the begining it's all about the inches lost and how your clothes are fitting better!!

How did you workout go today?? Be sure to make S&L your new best friend!! It really helps to work out the sorness!! And no matter how sore you are keeping going with your workouts or you'll be sore longer than the normal 3-5 days!!

Thanks for your kind words!! That was really nice of you!!

Just popping in to let you know that I'm feeling great and starting off this 6 weeks STRONG! This morning, I was at 143.2 and I feel so refreshed after my fast. So, I'm going to try and weigh in just once a week, on Mondays, so I don't make myself crazy with the numbers. I know my goal, and I know I will reach it!

How are you doing with the Slim Series? Do you have big plans for Thanksgiving? I'm a vegetarian, so I mostly look forward to sweet potatoes and squash! We are just doing a very small dinner, so I won't be too tempted to eat like crazy. Plus, I will have worked out, so I won't want to eat as much anyway.

Hope you had a good weekend!

Jess...I'm glad to hear that you are doing so great!! I am very proud of you!! Woo hoo on the new scale reading...that's awesome!! Keep it up!!

Sounds like you have a plan for Thanksgiving!! Stick to it and you rock!!

We are suppose to go to my mom's Wed. night then go to my grandma's (my dad's mom) on Thurs., but I don't know if we are going to get to go since they are suppose to get 8" of snow. If my husband had all weekend off we would just go, but he has to be a work bright and early on Fri. morning so we can't take the chance of getting stranded there.

So, pretty much are plans are up in the air. But if we can't go then we still have supper plans with my husbands family and they just live a mile from here. So, either way we'll get to spend some time with our family.

Whitney...Thanks!! You are so sweet!!

Michelle,

Thanks for the encouragement - it really helps. emoticon I'm feeling so much better after just a few days back on SI6 because I know that I have a plan to get these extra pounds off.

I have a question about the slimming formula. Do you take that just once a day, or is it recommended before every meal like many other weight loss supplements? Does it help curb your appetite at all? I'm not big on taking a lot of pills, but if they really help to reach my goal, why not? I wish that there was a pill that I could take in the evenings that just turned off my urge to eat. That is usually the toughest time for me.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, wherever you end up! We are expecting snow here too, so I'm happy that we are not traveling anywhere.
