Hi to the 41 people who dropped by! emoticon I started Katy's Zone so I have a place to go that won't "die out" before I reach goal. Shout out if you'd like! emoticon

I have two injuries from last year that still slow me down a bit--my right shoulder and my left knee. I'd love to do weights in my workouts, but don't dare yet. emoticon Have a great day! Kathy

Mmmm...tonight is shrimp/veggie stir-fry with a side of rice! emoticon I bought strawberries, grapes, a banana, broccoli/cauliflower, stir-fry veggies+, and individual servings (frozen) of salmon, cod, and tilapia. Hopefully, none of it will go to waste. emoticon

64 peeps have dropped in so far! emoticon Thanx. "Hi" to you all! Kathy

Hello Katy,
I tried the 6WBMO too but it was too structured for me. Good luck with it though. I just started TJ on 9/12 and am doing the turbo slim diet with it and in 3 days have lost 4lbs and 2 inches in my waist. I am so amazed but loving it. You are also welcome to join a great group of ladies on "are there any single moms out there". They are super ladies and an awesome support group. Keep up the great work and have a blessed day.

Hi Kathy! emoticon

I was surfing around for the 1st time in months and came across your new long overdue thread and had to congratulate you for taking that step!! emoticon

You and I have been in similiar boats for the past two years. emoticon I know we will both stick it out until we reach our goals!

My mid section has become my biggest "assett" so I think I will break open those Turbo Jam workouts and strengthen my own "core" along with you. Last night I told my 7 year old that we were going to start exercising right when I get home, before their homework. I've already proven that if I don't do it before work at 3:45 a.m. than I don't do anything at all after work. It's the beginning of my 3rd year and it will be the year that I get some results!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I went to the doctor yesterday and my BP was normal since taking the water pill they gave me a week ago. I still have to go in for blood work and my first mammogram. The doctor said my 2 month cough is allergy related. Leave it to me not to just have watery eyes like most people. Coughing is the one thing that effects my job since I'm on the phone all day. emoticon

Your shopping trip made me hungry for good foods. I need to add fish into my diet. I love it and forget to make it. I also told the kids last night that we are going on a healthy food only shopping trip tonight. I've gotten into eating foods I can grab(Frozen lean cuisines, cottage cheese, etc). I'm craving fresh food!!

I appreciate you sticking it out with me on my thread and I will do the same for you!

Let's do it! emoticon

Welcome Joyce. You said that your on year 3? Of TJ? How much more do you want to lose? I want to lose a total of 40-60 lbs. Have you been on and off the program or have you stuck with it for 3 years?
Good job on the midsection Katy. I can't wait till I get there too. I'm doing great on the diet which really surprises me too. Today I really feel my abs. I think I do have muscle under there. emoticon So far, being day 4 I have lost 5lbs and 3 inches on my waist. I am 179.5 and totaly thrilled. I haven't seen 170anything in almost 18 years. And I'm on day 6 with no cigarettes as of 9/16.-Yeah God is soo good.Angel wishes ladies.

Hi Wendy! I know what you mean about the abs! When I first started and they wanted me to feel/tighten my abs, I was thinking, "What abs!" emoticon emoticon Now I'm feeling good about the exercise part (without comparing to younger, fitter persons). emoticon But you are definitely ahead of me on the diet part! Like I said, I haven't lost a pound in two years! emoticon emoticon emoticon See ya! Kathy

Good goal! I want to lose 40 by 1-10-07. Thats my son & my mothers Bdays. Hope your tooth improves.
Well as of today I'm down 6.5lbs and SOOOO excited I can't stand myself. I went to the gym to work out this morning and thought I would TJ after I work up this evening but it was too late when I woke up to TJ before work. I did an excellent workout at the gym though so I don't feel bad.
Everyone keep up the EXCELLENT WORK & KPP!!!

Accountability:1/2 hr Cardio-treadmill, 1/2 hr manual-treadmill @ 3.7mph=total 337 cal burned and 3.34miles walked. Also did some of the TJ moves in the pool for extra resistance-worked great because I am really feeling it.

Hi Kathy and Wendy,

Kathy-I hope your feeling okay today. Nothing like tooth pain. How are you doing with all that good food you bought last week? You got me hungry for some good food. I went to the store and bought some Salmon and some Talapia fish. I'll have the Salmon tonight and see how the family reacts to it. I realize I've avoided making foods that I always ate before having a family. My husband is picky and I always ate what he wanted to eat which helped me gain 10lbs per year. Now he tends to eat right after he's off work at 2:30. He drives through somewhere and that lets me cook for just the kids and I around 4:00. He bought some drumsticks over the weekend and I wasn't tempted at all which was great. I'm craving healthy foods and packed snacks and 1 lean cuisine for lunch.

Today I will start exercising with my 7 year old. I promised her and she even reminded me last night. emoticon

Wendy-- Congratulations on the 6 lbs weight loss!! Terrific start. emoticon emoticon emoticon
I think a 10lb goal each month is obtainable if you stick to the eating and the exercise both.

I tend to do one or the other and am getting ready to do both again starting this week.
I need to check out some of the sample menu's you mentioned.

Have a great day ladies,

Hi there,

was just looking around when I came across this thread...good for Kathy.
I have TJ but only 1 disc that a friend of mine lent me the Lower Body Jam but she lost the booklet with the meal plan which is I would like to take a look at since I need to lose the weight that I gained during my pregnancy.

Anyway, hope you all have a good workout.

Welcome Rosa! emoticon

It helps me to have most of my stuff pre chopped. Like fill a container full of chopped onion, another with chpd tomatoes etc... This makes for quick meals and snacks and only takes alot of prep time once. I found I am saving money now that I am preparing my meals versus buying them out. I like that. Hope you all had a great Monday. It's my FRIDAY-YEA!! emoticon
Wish me luck. I'm going to do the 2day shake fast Tue & Wed. for my days off.
Yall keep up the good work and KPP!

Hi Kathy--- I hate it when I can relate to things I don't want to relate too...haha. emoticon

All the little changes we've made have kept us from continuing to gain like we did before connecting with Beachbody! emoticon

It was more fun being blissfully ignorant. Now we are forced to feel guilty with every slip up or missed day of exercise. Its a good thing!!

Once your mind expands it can never go back, but we know from everyones pictures on these threads that the stomach and rear do get smaller if we put forth the effort.

I'm in your corner! Let's stop aggravating ourselves. emoticon

The turbo jam moves so quick that my body can't keep up with what my mind wants to do. I made my husband promise he wouldn't peak at me when I did the 20 minute workout for the 1st time the other day. My kids gave up and decided to eat ice cream in front of me while they watched the workout video and me! emoticon
It looks easy, but changing positions so quick was a challenge. I'm use to regular "dansing" to that type of music, so it's a learning process.

Gotta get back to work. Just wanted you to know I was here. I apologize for getting a chuckle out of your email. They say laughter is the best medicine. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Leave doubts behind

The doubts may seem strong, yet you are stronger. Because you have the ability to take action.

Doubts cannot accomplish anything on their own. You, on the other hand, can.

The doubts may at times feel very compelling. Yet the moment you start to move forward, those doubts begin to crumble.

Every action you take is a triumph over your doubts. Every little bit of progress will make the doubts smaller and smaller.

As you step forward, your doubts begin to step back. As you establish more and more momentum, those doubts quickly lose their grip on you.

When you feel your doubts holding you back, choose to venture just a little bit beyond them. You'll soon discover that you can leave them completely behind.

Have a terrific day,
JoyceC

JoyceC, I'm now using ALL the TJ w/o's, so there's some learning still going on. I did my stats for another thread and noticed my blood pressure has dropped 43 pts on the top and 29 points on the bottom measurement! emoticon My LDL (bad cholesterol) has dropped 21 points this year alone and my total cholesterol is down to 222. Not bad, seeing as how my HDL (good cholesterol) runs pretty high as well. My heart rate has dropped from 79 to 63 bpm. emoticon Unfortunately, my weight is the SAME as two years ago (but includes more muscle and less fat than that time). And my inches (overall) have slightly INCREASED (increased muscle again)! emoticon I have lost slightly in some places, but things have "lifted" into the "measuring zones" which seems a bit unfair! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi to Wendy and Rosa! emoticon Kathy

Good morning everyone!
I've been trying to modify my lifestyle with healthy, clean eating and exercise since the beginning of June and I've been working out - Turbo style - since the middle of July. I've managed to lose 29 pounds so far, but I have a very long way to go still. I find the hardest part is the diet. I see it like this: A recovered junky doesn't HAVE to have drugs to live - so they can just completely eliminate the drugs from their lives and they can completely focus on the recover from their addiction. Unfortunately, an overweight person still HAS to eat to survive. That means that the unhealthy habit is always lurking just one poor choice away. Staying clean and on track means staying completely focused on everything you eat and making a conscious choice to eat clean! It's sad, but very true...and at times it's all consuming. I am learning to forgive myself for my food weaknesses, but these weaknesses will not stop my determination to lose the extra person I'm carrying around on my body! My total weightloss goal was 143 pounds. I have 114 pounds to go. My long term goal date is August 1, 2008 (I turn 50 August 3, 2008). My current short term goal is to have lost a total of 50 pounds by Christmas 2006.

Since I began working out and walking in June, my LDL has dropped 21 points as well, and they are down to 214. My doctor is thrilled. I've lost 3.5" off my waist and 1.5" off my hips and .75" off each of my thighs! I'm proud to say, pants literally fall off of me! emoticon But unfortunately, I've also lost in my chest/bust area, which could have stayed there for all of me. emoticon

So I hope you don't mind that I join in on this thread, but I can use all of the appetite curbing/brainstorming and encouragement to help me get to my attainable goals.

Be kind to yourself today. Let's take this one day at a time!

Remember...drink water, think before you eat and keep moving!
*smile*

Good morning Kathy and daddy's girl.

Just_Joyce-welcome to the "zone". emoticon Nice to see you here. For this thread let's call you JJoyce and I'll be JoyceC so we don't confuse everyone. emoticon
Kathy and I met on these message boards over in the SI6 thread more than a year ago. She kept the pulse in my thread when I got off the exercise track this year. emoticon

You have had a terrific start and I really believe you will lose enough without having to get the lap band surgery you spoke about on the other thread. Those daily walks, plus your other workouts are a great accomplishment. emoticon I know both Kathy and I would be thrilled to lose 29 lbs since June! It is very realistic to hit your goal by 2008. I'd love to be at mine by then too! emoticon

It is frustrating when we eat great 3/4 of the day and blow it at night or when nothing healthy is around. I think I'm finally fed up with myself enough to get back into really putting forth some effort on this weight loss goal.
I need to take measurements and photos again.

Kathy-WOW!! I can't believe how much your blood pressure went down! That is amazing. It must have been pretty high to go down that much. Even though our scales haven't moved much our 1st two years here, lots of other things have changed for the better which will eventually lead to it all "kicking in" and eventually the scale will move in our favor!
Do your grandkids ever turbo jam with you?
Have you started the MikeT diet yet? I need to pull my book out. I just remember he suggested tons of tuna and the only kind I can eat is the lemon pepper flavored one that comes with the little crackers. I think his explanation for metabolism being like a kindling fire is a great one. The "fire" can't burn unless we put some fuel in our bodies. Good fuel! I also like that little fruit and veggie cheat sheet that comes in his package. Different foods for different body types and blood types has always made sense to me. Speaking of blood types, the red cross is coming here today and I'm donating at noon. emoticon

Let's have a terrific day!

Go for it

What would really get you going today? What would make you so excited, so enthusiastic, so motivated, and so full of energy that you literally could not stop until you had it done?

Everyone is motivated by something. What is it that gets you going? What is it that would compel you to transcend any obstacle, to do whatever is necessary to pursue it?

Do you know what it would be? If not, then it's well worth your effort to find out. Dig into your desires. Get in touch with your purposes and passions. Discover the things that are truly important to you.

When you do know what it is, by all means go for it. You'll find your greatest success pursuing those things for which you have the greatest passion. Look at any successful person and you'll see a driving passion constantly pushing that person forward.

You cannot simply be successful. You must be successful at certain things in particular. Your success must have an objective, or it cannot ever happen. Find an objective that you can get passionate about, and put the whole of your self into making it happen.
