These are the horrid pictures I had to take to really get it to sink in "just how bad it really is." But not for too much longer! Going forward with workouts, eating right, and learning to take care of myself - which includes learning to love myself.

Only a few pictures - don't need a dozen to see the reality. But wait until we have some progress - then I'll be posting some "killa" photos emoticon FABulous!

Hi Roz!

Welcome! It can be hard to post those first photos. Honestly I didn't let my husband take my "before" photos until I"d already lost 10 pounds with Slim in 6!!! Now I wish I'd let him take the before photo earlier because it would've really shown how much my body has changed.

Keep pushing play and know that we're all here for you!!

Thank you so much! I already feel the difference, and I'm hoping that initial "rush" of willpower doesn't desert me yet.

I had my 10-year-old take the pictures (not married). I'm hoping to set an example for her, that determination can really make a difference no matter what your goal is. Hey, if I can quit *smoking*, I can do anything, right?

I'm fasting today and tomorrow, doing Abs and Limber morning and night. Then back to "PUSH PLAY" on Tuesday.

Life is FABULOUS!

Hi Roz!
Thanks for stopping by my thread! I love having visitors! emoticon

Great job quitting smoking. That is HARD! You're absolutely right...you CAN do anything. I love hearing Debbie Siebers say: "Whatever it takes..." because that's so true when you set your mind on something.

I have an almost 5 y/old son and a 7 1/2 yr old daughter. They usually watch me work out...mostly my daughter. She likes Turbo Jam because of the music. As I coach I considered buying the Fit Kids Club workout with Shaun T for her since she likes that kind of music. That way I could also loan it out to people I know who have kids. It came on Friday. You would not believe it...my daughter was glued to the workout yesterday and was beaming proud that she had her OWN workout to do now!!!!! Man! Now I'm going to have to buy another one to loan out because she's NOT letting that one go!

My point?! You ARE setting a tremendous example for your daughter...and she sees that, I'm sure. That's one of the best things we can do as moms.

Have a great night!

I saw that for kids and I thought it was so cute I showed the demo online to my daughter. She says (and I quote) "That was weird." At 10, she can be entirely too "grown up" for her own good. She loves my YBB because of the ballet. We don't usually work out together because I'm one of those early burners - 5:00 a.m. - and she's never up so early. She's been enjoying the Limber and doing that with me in the evenings. Luckily, she's got an entirely different body type than mine - is very slim and is nearly as tall as I am at 10 years old! Of course, I'm kind of short 5'4", but she's 5'1" already. She's going to be a tall, willowy blonde.

I was really jazzed this morning because I'm down 2.4 from last week. Woo Hoo! I'm going to push play *now*.

Life is FABULOUS!

Hi Roz!

That's so funny about what your daughter said! I'm an art teacher...so I can totally hear that from a 10-year old!

Way to go on the weight loss so far. GO, ROZ!!!! emoticon

Aren't kids fun? I wish I could have had half a dozen.

Today is an off day, my dog was sick in the night and I didn't have the energy to get up early.

I've been eating *really* good --- lots of steamed veggies (I've been mixing some unusual things like red peppers with cauliflower and green onions... yum! ), fresh salads full of fun stuff like radishes and lil green onions, little mini-steaks about the size of my palm. When (not if, you know, but *when* ) I feel the overwhelming urge for something sweet, I have JUST ONE SPOONFUL of ice cream or JUST ONE BITE of chocolate.... And, surprisingly, it satisfies.

Perhaps this time it's the "real deal." I certainly feel differently this time, really - no desperation, no deprivation. Just a quiet determination. (yessss!!)

I have a feeling... I'm gonna be FABULOUS!!!!

Hi Roz:

YESSSsssss...the quiet determination. emoticon One of my favorite Debbie Siebers quotes is: "Whatever it Takes". That's so true.

Good for you and your healthy eating! Can you come cook for me, too?!! lol!!! I'm not a very good cook...but I have thrown any and all junk/chocolate food outta my house. That's half the battle for me!

Have a nice day off and see you in wowy soon, I hope!

Love to join in the veggie par-tay...I'll bring the tofu!! lol!! I'm actually allergic to wheat, gluten, eggs, and dairy. So when I go grocergy shopping my husband reminds me to "pick up some sticks and rocks for dinner"! emoticon

Have a great day, Roz!

Oh, man, I feel for you. I have never had food allergies, and I was tested this year to confirm that. (Also don't have hay fever or animal allergies.) But I have family members with allergies and I've seen my nephews really sick with asthma caused by allergies - even hospitalized! A terrible thing.

......
When I started SI6, I tried the SIU routine and didn't feel I was getting sweaty enough... so I switched to RIU and that was a really good workout, lots of sweat and it challenged me, for sure. I couldn't do all of it (especially the leg work, where most of my fat is), but sure got a "burn" going! Saturday morning, I realized that I was doing more with it! I thought, "Hey! Look at that! I'm getting there! I'm really going to DO this!" That was a *great* feeling.

It's working. I'm feeling so good, and I'm looking forward to getting Slim emoticon

Down another pound... wish it were more, but? Gotta hang in there.

Roz in SoCali

P.S. Happy Mother's Day! Hope all you moms had a great time with your families. I got half my kitchen painted by my ex, if you can feature that, then went with my daughter to my folks' and cooked a nice dinner.

Hiya Roz! emoticon

Nice work on the RIU! It's pretty cool to work at something and see it pay off. I remember starting and feeling overwhelmed with the path that lay ahead of me. BUT...in time and just by sticking with it I got over that hump at the beginning and there was no holdin' me back. I learned it would've been WAY harder to stop and start over later than to just keep going.

I'm having a great time in LA. I'm here for the SI6 infomercial filming and have met some awesome and wonderful people. I'm still nervous but excited at the same time!

Have a great day and keep pushin' play!

Really sick yesterday, there's this stomach flu thing that's been making the rounds in our community. I know several people who have had it and I guess it's my turn now. Bleagh! Inconvenient, unplanned purging, basically. I expected to get on the scale and find myself down a couple of pounds afterwards, but guess what? My contrary body is UP two pounds! How does that happen?? I know my system processes slower because of my thyroid problem, but come on! grrrrr....

Anyway, no work out yesterday because of it, but I'll be backing up a step and doing SIU this morning because it's a bit lighter and I'm still a little shaky. But I gotta PUSH PLAY as much as possible.

Have a great time in L.A., Sascha girl emoticon I'm just down the road from you. Enjoy the cooler weather while you can - it's supposed to be over 100 here by Thursday.

Hi Roz!

Thanks for stopping by my thread. I just left a message for you over there.

I hope you FEEL BETTER SOON! emoticon I had a weird, icky stomach thing at the airport before I left. It started w/the car ride and my stomach is still a little upset. Weird. Hope you're doing better, tho!

Don't forget about the trusty tape measure. I hardly ever weigh myself anymore. I've found more accurate measurements with that. Especially when trading in fat for muscle (and that's a great trade!)

Yeah...it was 98 when I left and 94 here when i got back home to Portland. Stay cool!!!

Oh, yes, we do the tape measure thing here, too. I have a good friend who has been nipping at my heels for years about my weight (she, herself, is obsessed with losing weight but never gets very far) and got me started measuring several years ago. I'm down 1.5 inches on my waist, an inch off my butt, and pretty much a half inch everywhere else. I measure once a week, but only do a real comparison once a month.

I'm still weird in the belly - which is very odd, since I thought this was a flu thing, but apparently it's something else. I don't know of anyone else who's had this! I'm going to do another fast with water and peppermint tea only for a couple of days to see if we can get it resolved. A friend also told me about taking charcoal (I guess there is some type that you can buy OTC in capsules) that is supposed to absorb any toxins in your system, so we'll start off the fast with that. Bleagh!

If you can feature this, Saturday night I went dancing emoticon I'm part of the singles group at my church and there was a dinner and live band out in Palm Springs. We had a blast! The men, of course, are scarce, but we had a group of gals out there stompin' up a storm to some rock and roll oldies from 60's and 70's. What a hoot! I literally danced for 2 straight hours, and was soaked! Great workout!

Glad you had a good time in L.A. Tried to access your thread this morning to read about your adventures, but it says "in moderation" so I'll try again later.

Have a great day!
