HI!! I’m Michele or Coach Mich and I’ve been where you are!! No one can fully understand the completely paralyzing pain and devastation that looking down at the scale and seeing 200+lbs staring back at you feels like UNLESS they have been there before!! It’s the worst feeling in the world – you hate yourself for letting yourself get that way and yet, because you’re so depressed, you stuff your face with whatever sweet, salty or sweet and salty thing you have in the house just to numb your self-contempt and hatred.

For me, the thought of exercising was out of the question – NEVER gonna happen!! I had gone through SO MUCH humiliation in school due to developing early and gaining excess weight once puberty hit that there was NO WAY I’d willingly do something physical to be teased and/or heckled ever again!! But as the years progressed, it became glaringly apparent that my improved eating habits were NOT going to get my excess weight off.

I saw a P90X infomercial and was intrigued with the thought you could re-shape your body in 90 days. It looked far too advanced for me to try at that point. I then saw a Slim in 6 infomercial and knew (ok, thought maybe) I could make it through 6 weeks. How hard could THAT be?! Boy, was I in for a surprise!! That first Beachbody program changed the way I look at fitness and health, all for the better and for LIFE!!

Since February 2008, I have completed:
2 rounds of Slim in 6 (one regular; one BIU only)
2 rounds of Slim Series (Slim Training & Lower Body)
1 10 day 10-minute Trainer Lean Jeans
1 round of P90X
1 round of ChaLEAN Extreme
1 round of Turbo Jam
Currently working on the ChaLEAN Extreme/P90X hybrid round

I have played with Hip Hop Abs, Power Half Hour, Great Body Guaranteed! and Slim Series Express.

I have gotten rid of 53.6lbs and 71in total (7.5in in my waist alone!! emoticon) to date. When I began this journey, I weighed 204lbs.

Meet Coach Melinda:

Hi there!! I am Melinda (screen name: CoachMelinda)

I'm a 41 year old married, mother of two grown children. I work as a Senior Office Manager/Prime for Life Instructor. I am also a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutrition Specialist. I enjoy horseback riding, racquetball, traveling, and spending time with my family.

Since April 2008 I have completed:
1 round of Slim in 6
1 round of Slim Series
1 round of P90X
1 round of ChaLEAN Extreme (working on another now)
1 round of Insanity
I have played around with Turbo Jam, Power 90 and Hip Hop Abs

I have gotten rid of 50 lbs and over 30 inches. I, too, weighed over 200lbs when I started this journey.

Meet Coach Chad:

Hello! My name is Chad and I’m one of the testosterone factors of this team. I’m currently the heaviest I’ve been in my life and mainly because I’m in starvation mode most of the time. I work our video store business and don’t eat very well during the day. I get home in the late evening and find myself trying to catch up on my eating then which I know is the worst time. I also feel guilty for being able to lose weight and anytime my wife would go on a diet and weight loss program, I was the one to lose it all. I always wished that she could give me her weight so I could have control to lose it for her.

I have always been an active person with various sports through high school and throughout my adult life but having been sedentary for awhile now has taken its toll. I've just started my workout program and with the help of our other wonderful coaches here, I'll be a hard body before you know it!

Meet Coach Cheryl (screen name - eaglesgirl):

A little about me:
Being a 35 year old, single mother isn't the easiest thing in the world. However, I wouldn't trade that 24/7 job for anything in the world! Without a doubt, the number one motivator in using the Beachbody programs is to stay healthy for my son. Not only do I want to be able to keep up with him as he gets older, I want continue to watch him grow.

My career can be very demanding/stressful at times. Currently, I teach 4th graders. In my class, I constantly tell the kids that I believe they can each achieve what they want to, but THEY must believe that they can...I don't like to hear the word can't! My students make me laugh on a daily basis and because of them, I find my job rewarding!

When I'm not with my son or teaching, I do enjoy watching the Philadelphia Eagles during football season. FLY EAGLES FLY...they even have a wall in my classroom!

Like many others, I was VERY active when I was younger and VERY fit. Having been with someone who pointed out my flaws only made them worse, and I hid. I'm trying to change my mindset by taking control of my life. When I look in a mirror, I see fat/ugly despite what others say (after hearing that for years, it kind of sticks with you). Having a positive frame of mind is important, and I'm hoping through these programs, I can have that, more confidence, and then some!

My journey so far:
About a year and a half ago (March 2007), I was heavier than I'd ever been in my life! Shopping for size 14 clothes was very discouraging; however, seeing 162 lbs. staring up at me from the digital scale was shocking (I'm 5'2" and have a small body frame). At that point, I knew it was time to make changes or suffer consequences.

One of those changes involved ending a relationship of about 11 years. My ex-husband and I divorced in 1999, but stayed together until July 2007. Trying to "work it out" was obviously not working and only created more stress in my life. Things were not easy. For the first time, I was completely away from my family/friends.

Concerned about finances, I took a second job as a server at a local restaurant. This only took a toll on me physically and began to make me sick. After a month, I had to quit that job. It did help me to lose some weight, but stress and running myself ragged was not the way I wanted to lose weight.

Within a few months, I went through some of my belongings and found an old Power90 DVD. Knowing that I enjoyed it once before, I popped it in, pressed play, and began to just do the workouts. People were noticing. Not only did they notice a physical difference, they said I seemed happier.

After a while, I decided to try something new. That brings me to starting Slim in 6. On August 31, 2008, I'm at 130 lbs and would truly love to lose 20 lbs. I've also ordered Hip Hop Abs because it looks like a blast (and I'd love to learn to dance...LOL)!

I have been overweight (or undertall) all my life. You know the story, tried different diets, blah,blah,blah…

Weight Watchers has been the best because it is a training for a healthy lifestyle, which parallels so well with the principles behind Beachbody.

About 20 years ago, I almost reached goal. I was working out with weights and loved it. The way the muscles work and the physiology behind it. Because of this, I have wanted to be a personal trainer for many years. The weight was an issue and, of course, the lack of experience. There is no more, “when I lose 30 pounds…” I can do it now and the weight will go in due time. The mind is a powerful thing. Never give away your power!

Hi, my name is AnLee and I'm working alongside the coaches on this thread to help you reach your fitness goals. I'm just like everyone of you! I'm here because I want to get fit and stay fit.

I'm a 46 year old mother of 3 who is dedicated to making fitness my lifetime goal. Until we were blessed with my third son, I never worried about my weight or for that matter anything about nutrition. I was one of those fortunate people that just seemed to coast along with little effort to maintain my weight. Well having my third son at 38 totally shifted my metabolism and forever changed my taking my body for granted!

I gained 50 lbs while I was pregnant and the baby weight didn't budge. I am one of those that got sucked into the popular belief that Atkins was the cure-all. Miraculously I lost the weight with ease while pushing my metabolism to total meltdown. Within literally months after returning to normal eating patterns I ballooned to my all time highest weight EVER! I gained back the 50 lbs, plus some...proof positive the only way to lose weight and keep it off is with proper nutrition and exercise. It's not just a DIET, it's a LIFESTYLE.

Then by destiny, fate, luck or some devine intervention I caught Chalene Johnson on an informercial doing Turbo Jam. I quickly ordered the program and found the BeachBody community and my life went from Fad Diet Junkie to Lifestyle Makeover.

I was fortunate enough to find the Help2GetFit girls and the rest is history. I consider myself a "coach in training." As that is the next of my goals to reach. I'm here to work with you to reach our fitness goals together. So I haven't found my SUCCESS STORY just yet, but I'm definitely ready to dig deep and find it with YOU!

P90 Master Series
ChaLean Extreme
& currently working on P90X

I also have Yoga Booty Ballet, Power Half Hour & Project You videos. There are so many more I want to try so I know my journey will continue for years to come! Why not make the journey together!

The MOST essential part of ANY healthy eating plan is good old H2O. Without water, our bodies can't function to their highest level and it can't get rid of the toxins that we accummulate throughtout the day.

This is why you'll hear us coaches say VERY often -- DRINK YOUR WATER PEOPLE!! emoticon

The ABC's of Heart Health are VERY important to take heed of. Being aware of the danger signs BEFORE you get there can save you SO MUCH in the long run -- not to mention add to your life span!!

The basic food tool to use with Beachbody programs is Michi's Ladder. It has 5 tiers to it. It is said that eating from the top 2 tiers would yield you an almost perfect diet!!

Most of us grew up with the Food Pyramid to go by for our eating. It's still very close to the same; when you're trying to get rid of weight, it's a bit more strict about the amounts but still a good rule of thumb to review and keep in mind:

Most of the Beachbody programs have some days where you can "cheat" or what we now call CHOICE DAY on your clean eating. This day can be used to load up on all the foods you've been avoiding all week -- pizza, pasta, cake, ice cream -- whatever works for you to curb the bingeing during the week. Most start out with the whole day and then skim down to a meal. Also, having a cheat snack mid-week can prove VERY helpful to your overall weight loss goals!!
