Hi, I'm Mar'tay, 38 from Chicagoland IL this is my thread but it belongs to anyone who wants to hang, post, and contribute in any way. I will help you all get motivated and give any advice i have. Log in your workouts or food or heck anything you'd like to talk about.

These programs are all great but its the accountability, teamwork and friendship that makes the difference!

Mar'tay...You can do this fitness thing and you know I am always around to help keep you accountable....just need to ask buddy...I haven't really done anything special other than stay the course every day...eat as clean as possible and give at least 20 minutes to an hour or so each day to my health...nothing you can't do.I had a lot of physical issues at the start as well but as I got in better shape they all disappeared one by one...It will happen for you too if you just stay true to your regimen each day....and let me help you....
Keep rocking and making it happen....you CAN do it !!!!

Hi Mar'tay - Welcome to TMT land! Your so right about the accountability making the difference! These threads are one of the two main reasons I've continued to succeed with BeachBody (the other being my coach!).

Are you new to TMT? What are your fitness goals for the next 30 days?

HEY MARC.... yeah i will stick to the workouts..and yes i will do my D@mndest to stick to the food thing..(my main issue) I still eat good 60-70% of the time but..thats not good nuff ya know??

Seeing results i will take new pics soon but...I need to see more... im down to around 273.5 or so and feel lighter, leaner n look a tad better n I'm FOR SURE stronger...

want less fat gonna get there! Thanks for your help. I'm sure I will be having you kick me in the nutz a few times! hahaaa

buddy system works..I'm living proof through all my trials im down from 308 309 lbs now to about 273.5 and much healthier overall and leaner.

I have a few goals..some I've been good with others, ehh not so much. I still drink to much darn soda..that needs to stop!!

1.less soda drank

2.less late nite snacking ( usually healthy stuff but still...not every day but to often)

3. getting another 2 inches or so of my waist flubber blubber off my gut!


4. To be working out 4-5 days a week every week!


and he11 im not sure what else at the moment..haha!

You know Martay, if you ever need any help coming up with some healthy meals...let me know. I can help you with a shopping list and things that are easy for you to cook. I must imagine it can be difficult to eat healthy being a single guy, especially if you dont plan well and have to grab stuff on the run.

We can talk....let me know.

hey thanks hun, always up for some more ideas...i am doing well though eating less meat.. esp red meat. I was a major meat eater and though I still have chicken a few times a week i also eat fish and pasta ( mostly the good for you kind)

i limit my dairy but i have some and i upped my veggies..i just hate cooking and suck at it. but if you got any ideas im all ears!!

hey everyone... i had a great run last nite in very crappy weather.. i stretched n warmed up up n down but didn't do my leg routine was spent running into the wind on an incline...lol legs were fairly toasty ( marc likes that word)


please PLEASE post your recipes, food ideas, supplements concoctions what have ya!

I want everyone here to vent, share, help, listen, hang out n enjoy posting n being apart of the beachbody/team Lor/Jason community this is just an extension of it.


its yours as well as mine so fire away!!

kids/hubby/wife quick fast meals without 20 grams of fat n 1000 cal's per serving? post it.


single guy trying to shed fat n not eat cardboard ( me ) who's a cooking retard (me again) help a brother out!!

Martay,
give me an idea of what types of things you like to eat and I can give you some ideas.

Right off the top of my head, I would say get yourself to a dollar store and get some good containers. For you, cooking a meal and then freezing in portions is going to be your best bet both portion wise and calorie wise. You can also buy when things go on sale which is what I do.

yeah but when your a girl and cute you can flirt your way to a good meal..little hard when your an ugly old guy like me!! haaaaa

Def. got a few containers..I mean I can't shop for fruits or veggies really..i ask my mom n dad alot how they check for stuff.. I have thrown out SOOO much stuff as I don't buy it at right times...

anyways.. i drink V8 splash drinks n grape juice/o.j. etc so that does help alot but, i need more fruit some days me thinks


i eat, alot of veggies, greens alot n some beans, rice etc.

chicken, some fish ( just had 2 of the last 3 days fishy burgers mmmmm!!! salmon)

about 2wice a month I have a burger give or take but I'm staying away from red meat if i can. Eating less of that has served me well...


I drink less dairy but I still feel dairy is important in certain smaller consistent doses.


Give me some of what you n Marc eat...Peg, TTUT, Suzy and anyone else you too!

THug what do you eat girlfriend??

How is everyone doing??

I am "x"-ing (hee-hee) but I did 90 days of TMT first!

Just wanted to share my new food love - V 8 soups!! Yummy and quick!!
I also want in on any food ideas! Right now I make 2 dinners one for me and one for the man! Luckily he is not too difficult but I gots to ease him into "my" foods if ya know what I mean emoticon

Mar'Tay, there are a few good recipes in the Abs Diet book. If you have not tried them go for it. They are spicy at times, or orangy at times, but they are good when you get them to your taste.

For me, I've been doing my own thing and the family is doing theirs. Or I'll make something for them and then I eat something else sometimes.

I eat oatmeal for breakfast almost every day. Regular, not instant. It doesn't take that much longer to cook in the microwave, and it's got all the nutritional value that instant doesn't have. Then I add agave nectar as sweetener (since I'm diabetic, I try to avoid refined sugar) and cinnamon. Sometimes I'll add milk to it. The only trouble is you have to cook it for about 3 minutes, and I'm starving, so waiting for it to cool can be a problem. Sometimes I'll throw an ice cube or 2 in it. If I have them, I'll add blueberries to it. That makes it really filling and tasty!
Other times I'll use eggwhites and add low fat cheese to them, and toast a whole wheat or whole grain english muffin. Then add all natural peanut butter(Skippy makes a really good one) and some Polaner all fruit jam to it. And drink 1% milk (I just can't do skim) or coffee. sometimes I'll do real eggs instead of the egg whites, but really, egg whites aren't that bad. And no cholesterol and very low in calories. I will even have that for dinner a lot because I work 10 hour days, and making something more complicated than that is just too time consuming.

I'm not all that creative, though. I tend to be a picky eater, and when I find something that is fast and easy and I like it, I stick to it. So, I need more options!!

You have p90x...that food/recipe book has some good healthy stuff in it...some of it should not be too complicated to put together...just another thought..... emoticon
