So here I am!! I started P90X on September 26th, 2007 and in the last 450 days and 5 completed rounds of X and X+ I have lost a total of 112 lbs. I am READY to continue with my fitness lifestyle and this journey has brought me to CHALEAN EXTREME! A new Trainer, A new Challenge, and a New mountain to climb.

So Who's Coming with me???

Ok.. here is my plan..

I just received CE in the mail yesterday.. the program looks AWESOME. I am going to do THIS Program FULL OUT.. Including the Nutrition, the workouts, the pre-workout fit test and pics, etc.

Tonight will be my LAST DAY of anything Tony Horton related for at least the next 90 days.. I will be doing One on One fountain of youth tonight. Tomorrow I will do the CE Fit test, get my nutrition all in line, take my Day 1 CE Pics and get ready to EMBRACE THE PAIN ChaLean Extreme Style. My first CE workout will be on Sunday 01-31-09. My only "break" will be when travelling to the "summit" in March.

So that is my plan..

RULES OF THE THREAD

1) No Negative Talk.. NONE.. only encouragement and honesty in a positive way
2) If you turn the Page you WILL post a pic along with the comment emoticon that is a SWARM RULE
3) You must set 5 Goals for your 90 day run at CE
4) NOTHING BUT 100% COMMITMENT!! NO EXCUSES!! WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS AND DO THIS RIGHT!!

SWARMS 5 GOALS FOR ROUND 1 OF ChaLean Extreme

1) Do the entire program as laid out in the guide including the workouts and the nutrition, no excuses, no implementing other things, just CE 100%
2) Increase my strength from day 1 to day 90
3) Maintain a single digit body fat %
4) 100% CLEAN EATING... and daily intake in line with CE Recommendations
5) SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD EVERY SINGLE DAY

The lower calorie intake will be my biggest challeng. I've been eating 2,000 cals a day for the last 3 or 4 months, so 1600 is going to be quite the change for me.

The next biggest challeng is giving up my TH style workouts for 90 days. Honestly, Tony Horton has completely changed my life and I am very nervous about the switch. BUT, I need to do this. I need a new goal and a new challenge and a new group of people to be excited with emoticon I honestly can't wait to see what new people I meet on this thread.

Friday 01-30-09 SWARM'S MESSAGE OF THE DAY


Ok.. one final post emoticon I am always being asked "what is your best advice to succeeding?
how did you do this?"

I have so many thoughts and so many "helpful things".... when I boil it down it all comes down to 1 word.. "PERSEVERENCE" That's it.. Everyone that embarks on this journey has ups and downs, good days and bad days, times when they are on fire and times when they just aren't feeling it. The key to long term success is NOT in NEVER FAILING, it is in rising each time you fall, picking yourself up everytime you fall off the horse. It can be with workouts, with eating, with attitude.. but in any of these categories PERSEVERENCE will = Success. We can't change what we did or did NOT accomplish yesterday or last week.. that time is gone, that effort or lack of effort is done.. there is no sense in spending too much time worrying about yesterday. because TODAY you can succeed, TODAY you can wake up and be the very best person you can be, TODAY you can push the damn play button and eat the right kinds of food, TODAY YOU CAN TAKE ANOTHER STEP, YOU CAN ACHIEVE, YOU CAN DO SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU WALK TALLER AND STAND MORE PROUD!!! TODAY YOU CAN BECOME A BETTER MAN, FATHER, HUSBAND, FRIEND, WORKER!! AND YOU CAN WAKE UP TOMORROW AND DO THE SAME THING!!!

You want Success??? You truly want to do what I've done??? Because I am not special, I am not just the only person on earth that can change my lifestyle this drastically.. ANYONE CAN!! "IF THE WANT IS BIG ENOUGH THE FACTS DON'T MATTER" .. So true, so so so true.. if you WANT this big enough then it doesn't matter that you are in pain at night, it doesn't matter that you can't eat pizza, or that you weigh 250 lbs and are unable to do all the moves. If you want this bad enough it doesn't MATTER if your entire family is fat and overweight and unhealthy or that your bad habits are as deep as the grand canyon. IF YOU WANT THIS BAD ENOUGH THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO DO IT!! THE FACTS WON'T MATTER!! I had every single reason in the book of why I shouldn't or couldn't do this, why I had spent my ENTIRE life since childhood being obese.. I've NEVER been skinny, the last time I weighed 160 lbs I was 11 years old and in the 5th grade.. my entire family is fat diabetics that chow on pasta, pizza, and cake.. there was not a single person in my family that thought I would ever be anything different than what I was.. GUESS WHAT??? IT DIDN'T MATTER!!! And if you WANT THIS BAD ENOUGH, IF YOUR "WHY" IS BIG ENOUGH, THEN THE FACTS WON'T MATTER TO YOU EITHER!!!!

ok.. I'm all friggin jacked up now and I'm about to go do Plyo, Core Syn, Chest and Back, and a 5 mile run back to back before I swim across Lake Erie to Windsor and then run back from Detroit to Northern Ohio.. Bring out the metallica because I'm about to headbutt something

I'm finishing up the last week of Burn phase and loving this program. I'm also adding in additional cardio, abs, yoga and stretching when I can. I believe Chalene designed this program to be flexible so I'm taking advantage of it. I've never missed a scheduled CX workout, just did some extras. I'm not too disciplined about the eating...maybe popping in this thread will kick my butt in the right direction!!

Thanks for the motivation....UR AWESOME!!

You talked Tracie and I into joining you!

We started yesterday, so only have 2 days ahead of you. We are excited for what lies ahead for us with this.

My 5 goals;

1) Lose the extra "sponge" still holding onto my mid section.

2) Strengthen my legs even further. (I HATE, I mean LOVE squats!)

3) Add definition to my arms.

4) Add definition to my chest.

5) Lose the last 10 pounds.

Tracie's 5 goals;

1) Lose 20 pounds

2) Lean out shoulder and arm muscles.

3) LOSE THE POOCH!

4) Lean out the upper legs.

5) Increase weights 10# by end of round

Glad to be on board, bro!

Time to get EXTREME, Baby!

Laura!!! emoticonemoticonemoticon I am SO EXCITED that YOU are the first poster on my thread emoticon haha.. for real, AWESOME!!!

ok.. so I am concerned going from X and X+ to the first phase of ChaLean will make me feel like I am not doing "enough".. I've even thought about just doing Yoga on the Rest days. In fact, I do Yoga now on my rest days and feel like it has helped me progress more.

Are the first phase workouts like 30-40 minutes? It seems like ANYONE (including former X-ers) that are dong CX are extremely excited about (forgive the pun.. haha) .. I can't help but truly be nervous about the switch. I mean, my life is COMPLETELY different and 100% of my transformation has been done with Beachbody supps and tools and Tony Horton workouts (X, X+, and 1 on 1) .. So this is a NEW THING for me, and I can't help but be nervous about switching.

and yes Laura.. please come to this thread.. for real man, I am all about supporting and helping and getting help. Anyone worthwhile seeks to surround themselves with passionate and positive people.

Quite honestly.. My legs are really in need of some attention.. If there is a place where I can make some serious gains with this program it is in legs strength and definition. So THANK YOU for adding that to your list and making me think about it.

Quick Question: Umm.. Are there any Pull ups in this program?? emoticon If not I am SO gonna miss them...

Honestly, words cannot express how stunned I am by your photos up there. You've taken this to such an extreme level.

I know there are a bunch of great beachbody stories from this year, but yours is exceptional and I'll be stunned if you're not a finalist.

Glad to see you starting a new thread over in Chalene land! I have been inspired by many of your stories and quotes in the NW thread.
I am officially starting a round on 2.2, and just finished my first round of the X. I took last week to get use to the burn routines and weights. It is much different than the X and it may take you a while to get use to the change!! I have only done 1 round of the X, and I was having a tough time this week with out Tony! emoticon
My plan is to incorporate yogax/oneonone on 1 of my rest days, and I did want to add more abs, so will most likely add abx 3 times a week. I didn't think the Burn phase had enough abs, and then I can get my Tony fix in to!

5 Goals for round 1:
1. 100% clean eating and no missed workouts.
2. Lean out all over, but especially lower 1/2 and belly area.
3. Lose 5-10lbs.
4. Lower BF to 18% or less.
5. Push myself harder than I ever have and stay focused on goals.
LIFT HEAVY OR GO HOME!!

Look forward to seeing what you think Tom! Oh, and there are no pullups in this, emoticon BUT they will be waiting for you in 90 days!!
