1. Body Fat Tester

There's a mistake in the body fat tester directions. In step 3, you will not hear a click when the calipers are squeezed and the slider bar clicks into place. This is because there is no slider bar.

On your calipers, all you do is look at the where the arrow on the moving part of the caliper and note the measurement.

We've corrected the instructions in future shipments.

2. "When should you do the Deluxe workouts?"

This direction is found on page 13 of your guidebook, where it says to interchange them with any cardio, interval or ab workout.

They are also recommended in the Lean Phase and are noted by an asterisk. (page 36)

3. "What are the nutrient ratios of the recipes?"

As noted in the Fat Burning Food Guide, there is no set nutrient ratio with the ChaLEAN Extreme diet. All meals vary but maintain healthy nutrient ratios, following a fairly high protein--but balanced---plan.

4. Where can I get the Select Tech dumbbells used in the workouts?

You can find these by going to:

5. Where can I get workout sheets to record my weight and reps?

ChaLEAN Extreme Workout Sheets are now available as FREE PDF downloads on Beachbody and Team Beachbody. You can also find them in Chalene's Training Corner, if you’re a Team Beachbody Club Member. Use them to record your weight and reps so you can track your progress through the three phases of ChaLEAN Extreme.

Thank you for posting this you're my hero!emoticon I have a question about the calendar and tracker:

I'm trying to figure out the workout calendars particularly the end of the month.

The calendar is labeled day 1-30. The circuit workouts are every other day during the week (we'll say Monday, Wednesday & Friday to avoid confusion) Well after week 4, on day 1 it says to do Burn It Off & Recharge instead of saying to start the next phase's circuit. The following day is a rest day and says track your results. THEN the next month's calendar starts at day 1 with the next phase's circuit.

I'm really confused. Do we not have the same rest days each month (I'm thinking like with P90X I always had Sunday as my rest day) or do we replace the Burn It Off & Recharge on Day 29 with the next phase's circuit workout?

Also, wanted to add that the rep/weight tracker seems to be missing for the workouts. In the guide book it only has a place to track reps and weight in Burn Circuit 1. There's nothing for the other workouts.

I have scoured all the posts for days and can't quite get a definitive answer on weights for Chalean and seeing as though she has a focus on heavier weights with fewer reps, someone PLEASE answer my question. So I want to get the Powerblock weights and they have a set that goes up to 24 lbs each set and a much more expensive set that goes to 45 lbs each set. Currently, I use 10 lb weights (each hand) for biceps and curls and 15 lb weights for back excersizes. This is doing Power 90 for 30 days. I am really seeking answer from WOMEN who have done P90X or have seen what Chalean is all about and would reccomend to me if you forsee me being OK with weights up to 24 lbs each or should I invest the money and get the weights that go up to 45 lbs. Help emoticon

arissachic- I was in on a chat with Chalene herself and she recommended getting weights that go higher. Some that are like the ones she uses start at 5lbs and go up to 52 or so.

If you already have the weights that go up to 24 I'd use those until you feel you need heavier weights. If you don't have either set I would get the heavier set since it'd be cheaper to buy those once than buy the light and then the heavy set. I recently bought the select tech 552 myself and I use about the same weight for exercises as you said. (those go up to 50 lbs)

I have a question regarding the Nutrition Plan for ChaLEAN Extreme.

I reiceved the program today and was reading through the nutrion guide, and in reality I will not make very many of the recipes in the book. I was wondering if it would be feasible to use the P90X nutrition plan instead. I have done two rounds of P90X, but have had little success with losing body fat, and wanted to try Chalean's program. I am super excited about the program, but like I mentioned, I will not stick to the recipes. I need something more flexible. I like th nutrition plan with p90X because you can just check off your carbs, protein, snacks, etc for the day.

Just looking for thoughts/feedback.

I'm curious about Kassandra's question too, and also I can not find where to add the workout plan to WOWY. I can add CLX but it doesn't give me the option to auto populate the calendar with the recommended workout. Will this ever be an option or am I just missing it?

Arissa - I just bought the Powerblock set that goes up to 50lbs in 2.5lb increments. I paid $350+tax, which is a big investment but I'm glad I didn't buy the smaller set. I haven't started the program yet but I tried a few one arm rows (back exercise) and even with 50lbs I could do several slow, controlled reps like we're supposed to. I just got them, but I love the Powerblocks so far and I know people who have had them since the 90s and still love them. I think BB has a promotional agreement going on with the SelectTechs, but from what I've read, the quality is not as high and the price is higher. I hope I'm allowed to say that on here! I just think the Powerblocks will last longer since the mechanism for choosing the weight is so much simpler - less to go wrong. And the set I got is expandable if I ever need more than 50lbs. I never thought I would, but now I don't know.

What I would like to know is when some sheets are going to be available to print to record our reps and weights for each exercise for each circuit! I know many people are going to make their own, but I'm surprised this didn't come with the set, since it's so important to know the right weight for each move and when we can do enough reps and need to increase the weight. I'd love a downloadable PDF file like I've seen there is for other BB programs.

I'd have to totally disagree on the quality comment for the SelectTechs. I have no affiliation with BB, not even a coach, and I own these - I love them and the quality is fantastic.

Hey, I'm not trying to offend SelectTech owners. I've never used the SelectTechs, so I can't speak to their quality. I just did tons of research on the internet and many people said that the mechanism has a lot of plastic, which can't last forever. Even Chalene said that they had 40 pairs or so for their testing and a few had problems, correct me if I'm quoting her wrong. That's a lot to have problems for something that costs so much, and I've read of plates falling out, which I absolutely cannot take chances on with a baby and two cats around.

Also from what I saw the ST's have a 2 year warranty and the Powerblocks have a 10 year warranty. That tells you what the manufacturers think of their own product. But now I sound like I work for Powerblocks, when I don't at all. Everyone has to decide what works for them. emoticon And I can see how some people may not like the square design of the Powerblocks, though it feels fine to me. emoticon Just my humble opinion after hours of research.

Will the bands work well for this program?? I cant afford to buy weights right now and the heaviest I have are 10 lbs. I ordered the bands and would like to know if they will work until I can afford the weights.

If I'm not mistaken in the preview disk some people were using bands instead of weights...you should be ok to use the bands until you can get some weights..

I have the selecttechs and love them though..

FYI: I made a PDF of all the workouts for weight/reps and I even managed to get all the exercises in each workout on to one page! So since it's 9 workouts it's nine pages. If you want the PDF please just EMAIL ME and I'll send it to you!
