Any vegans doing BBL?
vegan
6/19/12 1:29 AM
I'm starting my 3rd week of BBL and do not see any results at this point yet. My weight hasn't changed at all, neither my measurements. I'm replacing my breakfast with vegan shakeology drinks, other than that, I'm not really watching/ writing down or counting anything about my diet. There is no vegan meal plan on this website available, so i'm just eating the way i've always eaten without thinking too much about it, since I've always eaten pretty healthy vegan diet. Any fellow vegans out there who had to change their diet dramatically in order to see some improvements? I am 5'4 and around 130 lbs, so definitely could lose at least about 10 lbs. My friend suggested that the fat i have is being slowly replaced by muscles, and this could keep my weight stable.. could this be the case?

Hi! I'm vegan and I'm on my second week of BBL. I feel like it's working, in the sense that my legs feel firmer (not sure about my butt). I am not following an eating plan because I eat very clean and healthy already. Another thing is I don't weigh myself. I've always gone by the way my clothes fit, especially my jeans. I want to order the vegan Shakeology to see if that will help me out with getting more protein into my diet as well.

I'm happy to have found another vegan doing this workout!

Welesa,

I am vegan and doing BBL. After the second week of my first month, I could already see a difference! I upped my protein by adding Hemp seeds to nearly everything and eating more nuts. After my first month, I lost 15 lbs. and two dress sizes. (I did the green calendar.) I used five pounds of ankle weights on each leg and five to ten pounds for each arm.

I am now completing my second week of my second month, and I have lost another 3 lbs. and my clothes are getting loose. (I'm doing the blue calendar.) I have upped my ankle weights to ten pounds on each leg and I use 10 -15 pounds for each arm.

If you are not getting the results you want, perhaps you should go up in weight. I also workout in hotter temperatures (80 degrees Fahrenheit).

I'm glad to see their are other vegans on here (Hello to pahisey, as well)! Good luck in your efforts!

chinadoll474,

Congrats on starting a healthy lifestyle. I would like to recommend a cookbook to you: Veganomicon. It has plenty of recipes for cheese substitutes (and even bacon).

I also follow Yuri Elkaim. He has lots of lifestyle tips, fitness tips, and recipes. I choose to follow a whole food/raw food diet, so he is extremely helpful.

I hope this helps with your journey.

Best to you!

I'm vegan and waiting on my BBL and shakeology to get here. The only thing I've done to alter my diet is to cut out as much man made food possible and I've already lost 30lbs just doing that so adding BBl and shakeology should help a lot.

chinadoll474: You can be vegan and have your cheese and butter too lol. Look for butters that are made from olive oil and there are tons of vegan cheeses that are awesome. Veggie Slices is the brand i prefer when it comes to cheeses.

Also has anyone tried the vegan chocolate shakeology yet?

Cait1290: so true about the alternatives. Truffle butter is definitely worth a try! If you love pizza, American Flatbread makes a wonderful vegan variety.

I have my chocolate shakeology on the counter. After trying the strawberry (ick!), I can't bring myself to try it! I think I might mix it with espresso when I do. Please post if you try the chocolate!

I just finished the Ultimate Reset and it is all vegan the second 2 weeks. I Loved it! I have always eaten healthy but this brought it to a new level. I have kept doing so many of the recipes. My twin sister has been a vegetarian since we were in 10th grade. This is definitely a new way of thinking about food and so thankful I did the 21 days and will continue in a much healthier diet, sticking to mostly vegan meals. I lowered by cholersterol and broke though a weight loss plateau.

I love the vegan chocolate shakeology. I have had all the shakeology flavors and it is my favorite! I had this morning with some strawberries.

As far as not having results- tracking actual calories and burn during workouts really helps. I love myfitnesspal and heart my heart monitor.

I'm transitioning to vegan and i'm doing tubo fire right now, trying to find vegan sources of protein. I know I am overdoing it on the carbs and not enough protein right now, and I'm trying to fix that

Im not doing BBL but Im vegan and doing turbo fire. I eat very healthy already so Im pretty disappointed Im not losing any weight doing turbo fire and shakeology. I do wish there was more help for vegans in the meal planning department. The recipe booklet/meal plan for turbo fire is not very helpful as a vegan. emoticon

Ive been doing BBL for 6 weeks now and am vegan. Ive seen big differences with feeling and looking tighter and more toned. I dont notice my butt being as lifted as I would like but there is definitely an improvement! I drink Vegan Shakeology every morning and I stay lower-carb in the evenings. I also hit the gym 4 days a week 2 hours each session working mostly on cardio with strength done at home (6 days a week)

Hi,

I recently became vegan after doing a cleanse. I also recently read several books by Ani Phyo, so I will be incorporating a lot of the raw recipes into my diet. I am not ready to go raw yet, but it is definitely in my future. I am about to start BBL tomorrow. So, I will be leaving messages on how I am doing. Would love to hear what everyone else is doing. So far the plan for tomorrow is:

Workout: Boom Boom
B: baby coconut, berry/banana shake
S: banana with raisins
L: cabbage salad/almond butter wraps
S: Shakeology with banana and almond butter
D: cabbage salad/hummus wraps, pickled cabbage, pickled garlic (yummy)

Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

Hi Christina,

I did not do the Ultimate Reset. I was not ready for it at the time and ended up doing a modification of a 21 day cleanse which finally gave me the courage to become vegan. I am also reading a bit about the 80-10-10 diet as a way of going raw in the future, but am not sure if it makes sense to me yet. Hopefully the book will arrive in the mail soon. I still have so much research to do on this topic.

On the other hand, I started doing green shakes in the mornings. They are so yummy and really sustain me for the workout. Here is one of the recipes:
2 chard leaves and stems
1 kale leaf and stem
1 pear
1 persimmon
1 cup almond milk
sprinkle of chia seeds

For shakeology, I only tried the chocolate vegan one. It took me a while to get used to it, but now it is such a treat! I replace dinner with shakeology (almond milk, 1/2 banana, 1 scoop) and it feels like I am eating chocolate cake. So, it is now a total treat that I am looking forward to! Sometimes I will add chia seeds for texture and chewiness. So yummy!

I will post pictures, but not right now. I want to finish BBL. I had a false start with BBL last week - I literally could not continue due to muscle soreness. Right now I am on day 4 of BBL and am feeling a lot better. It is such an intense workout!!! I am looking forward to mastering it though!

I hope everyone is doing great in their journey toward physical and spiritual fitness!!!

Mariam
